I am a little torn with the Acai berry phenomenon. On the one hand I am reluctant to join what is definitely a fad. On the other the evidence of the massive benefits provided by Acai Berry are so overwhelming that it is very difficult to ignore! So here I am, jumping on the rather large Acai Berry bandwagon.
I’ve always been interested in weight loss since I used to be 330 pounds in my early 20s. Now I’m down to a much more sensible weight, I run marathons, and I’m generally pleased with my body. Many of my friends ask me what the secret to my weight loss was. The answer is simple: there is no secret.
Just learning about your food and about how our bodies react to this food is a great start to knowing what foods will help us to get to a place where we have the right diet, and where we feel good about ourselves. With this knowledge it is fairly easy to see how and why Acai is so helpful to our delicate bodies.
I take some Acai Berry with me when I go to work, and it helps give me the nutrient boost that I need. Acai Berry is great stuff: don’t be afraid to leap on that bandwagon.

Monavie is heavily promoted by a strong MLM network. Each bottle of Monavie sells for around $40. And since it is not really Acai Juice, but a blend with 18 other, much less expensive juices, they have $20 left over to distribute to the people involved in pushing the product. I will admit that it does taste good. And apparently there are people with plenty of money out there that don’t mind spending a whole lot for very little health benefit. So, if you want a pretty bottle and some nice tasting juice for $40 a bottle, Monavie might be ok for you.

The 800 pound gorilla of juice brands is now jumping on the Acai Bandwagon! Of course, this is an Acai Juice in name only – just check out the ingredients below. It has a little reconstituted Acai “juice”, but is far less than 10% of the total. It doesn’t taste anything like Acai, but is probably a good choice to get for the kids because of that. And is very inexpensive at $7.99 for 46 ounces.
