Acai Zone manufactures, bottles and distributes its own brand of acai berry products. The product range comes in supplement (powder and capsule) and beverage form. The newest products from Acai Zone are three new ‘Functional Fusion’ products which combine Acai Berry and Ayurvedic extracts and other ingredients. This mix of Acai puree and functional ingredients, they say, serves to enhance the effectiveness of both in addressing our health concerns.
Generally…
The acai berry that is used as the base of all the products seems to be genuine acai berry, not some watered down or drum-dried alternative. The puree that forms the basis of the beverages is very thick indeed — almost a chewy consistency — and it is quickly apparent that this is a quality product.
Acai Premier
This is the no-nonse 100% pure acai berry product offered by Acai Zone. According to the product label there is nothing in this product apart from pure acai and a little agave sweetner. Agave has been shown to be in itself a potent anti-inflammatory. For the purposes of this review I tried the acai berry puree every morning for 1 week.
First impressions were good: the product looks fresh, professionally done, and is in 32 oz glass bottles. Glass bottles effectively avoid plastic leeching; any acai berry juice will leech if packaged in plastic bottles because it is filled while hot.
Pouring out a couple oz of the puree I can instantly see that this is a much thicker consistency than the reconstituted juices you see in the supermarkets. It looks like you can almost chew it! Although it is barely noticable, the agave clearly adds to the taste.
Overall I was quite impressed with the quality and taste. It is a very different thing than the watery juice mixes the mega brands push.
Functional Fusions
These 3 new products are all based on the Acai Premier, and have some additional active ingredients added to target specific benefits. I couldn’t tell any difference in taste or texture, and there’s no way to tell how much more effective they may be than the 100% pure Acai Premier.
Acai Ultra Slim
Acai Ultra Slim is the first of the Functional Fusion belnds that I will be trying. As with all the Acai Zone products this comes in both beverage (acai puree) and supplement form. Again, I will be trying the acai berry puree.
Acai Zone have produced Acai Ultra Slim specifically to break to link between stress and overeating. Acai Zone claims to have used a clinically proven formula that helps you manage your weight by controlling the effects of streess-related eating. The blend contains 100% acai puree and something called Essentra Slim, which is, I guess, the clinically proven ingredient.
I can’t comment on the long-term effects of using Ultra Slim for diet and weight loss, but it did seem to supress my hunger on drinking a couple oz of the puree. I didn’t feel any immediate reduction in stress, but I’m not a particularly stressful person as it is.
The nutrients and antioxidants in acai have been shown to help weight loss and increase energy on thier own. If this Essentra Slim ‘proven forumula’ is half as good as it says it is then Acai Ultra Slim has the potential to be an impressive product.
Acai Radiant
Acai Radiant supposedly contains a clinically proven formula which helps to preserve collagen protein, ehances the elasticity of skin, and helps to promote heart health.
Looking at the bottle — certainly a professional looking vessel — I can see the ingredients: Acai puree, Sensara and Well Berry. The acai is puree, meaning it is not some watered down juice, or acai mixed with pomegrate like you’d find in the super markets. This is the real deal.
Sensara is quite expensive. Acai Zone claim that they aim for product quality rather than trying to improve their margin; this means they get the most effective ingredients — Sensara, in this case — into their products.
Overall this looks like a quality product at a very reasonable price.
Acai Maxx
Acai Maxx is a pretty unique blend from the Acai Zone Functional Fusion range.
The label tells me that the blend is made from 100% pure acai puree mixed with various naturally occuring ingredients that help in a whole load of areas. From energising the body and mind to improving your mood and firing up your libido! If Acai Maxx does half the things that it says it does then its worth every cent!
The product is well presented in a glass bottle (any acai that comes in a plastic bottle is subject to leeching, since real acai needs to be hot bottled) with an informative label. The label tells me that Acai Maxx contains Quarana, Cauaba, Miranta, Ginseng and Camu-Camu. All, I understand, are to be found locally in the Amazon rain forest. And all have a striking positive effect on the body.
All in all this once again looks and tastes like a product that Acai Zone have put a lot of effort into.
