I took 2 capsules of Acai Berry by Natrol yesterday and my headache just went away today. I took it as directed with food. I wondered about the 50mg of caffeine in each capsule, but took it anyway. After about 3 hours, my hands were shaking and I was a little anxious. I had to attend a wedding and could barely keep my eyes open from the pounding headache. I purchased mine from GNC so I will be reporting back to them about the product. I’m wondering if Acai Pure (with no caffeine or green tea) or the Acai juice would work better?

i started taking the Acai berry supplement pills and i started getting bumps on my arms and chest and also started experiencing vaginal and rectal bleeding. It was really scary!!! I didnt want to think it was the pills but i stopped taking them for almost a week and all those symptoms stopped.

I have been taking akai berry for three days now, it compleatly supresses my hunger and makes me feel really energetic.I am also taking the colon cleanse and am going to the toilet way more than normal, sometimes 4 times per day!I am worrried about the ingreadiants as they make me feel like im on drugs, even my pupils are dilated and i would describe it to the feeling of being on speed.My heart is also beating alot faster, anyone else experencing anything similar?
Stay away from this product. Anything that is free is no good and you all should beware. I took this product and felt like I almost died. I felt unsettled in the stomach, nauseous and sick.

There are no side effects from Acai Berry itself. If you are concerned about side effects, make sure you get a product that is 100% Acai Berry. And stick with one that is Freeze-Dried, not an extract.
I started taking AcaiPure – two caps – for day two. Has anyone regurgitate after eating? Maybe it was the Fried Chicken,I thought, because all that I ate, came back up. I kept regurgitating until all the contents of my stomach – mainly the Fried Chicken – had come out. It couldn’t have been the chicken because I bought it on Thursday and finished it off on Friday. It was pre-cooked and cut in pieces. First time I have regurgitated after eating Fried Chicken.

In regards to the person asking about Acai Berry Colon Cleanse causing high liver enzymes, I am wondering and thinking the same thing. I did it for a little over a week and I was just told by my physician that my AST and ALT were elevated.
I just take the life brand of Acai berry 500mg. It has no caffeine, which is good because caffeine makes me get the shakes, I get hot and cold flashes and feel sick to my stomach. I have been taking the Acai berry 500mg for about 3 weeks now and have just started taking 1000mg this past week. I have not had a side effect, I have tons of energy but It doesn’t disturb my sleep. I just feel more awake and lively. So far i have lost 4bls but i really don’t workout much. I would say if you want to try Acai berry, stay away from the pill that also has Caffeine in them. You will notice a difference!
I am on my second month using Acai Berry Pro and I may be cancelling after this bottle. I have not lost any weight as they promised I would. It does help me feel more energized but that is due to the high amount of caffeine in each serving. I would not recommend this product. Also after the trial period you will be charged $75 for the bottle you used during the trial period, I tried to cancel and they talked me out of it and acutally dropped the price down to $28 for the next 2 bottles, also they told me it takes 3 months of taking it before you will see any changes in your body… It’s all bull*&%#!!! Take the other’s advise and try the frozen kind.
I have Lupus. Acai berry DOES have side effects (make sure you’re getting the non-caffeinated kind!) for those of us with auto-immune disease. Because people with auto-immune diseases may have an extremely elevated amount of toxins in the body, there can be multiple reactions (all which are the normal course of a working body) such as pain in the side where the liver and kidneys are working over time trying to eliminate all the toxins brought out by the acai berry, and fogginess, from the ammonia produced in the liver while it is trying to eliminate the toxins brought out by the acai berry, great first day taking, two to three days of swelling after, and the a final expelling of the toxins after that.
I suggest (I’m not a physician, so please check with your doc) taking the Acai berry one time per week expecting 2 or more days of rest after, for several months until you can up it to 2 times a week when you notice that there is only one day of reactions.
Removing toxins from the body ALWAYS has side effects. Less on healthy people, more on ill. So please don’t downplay this, out of kindness for those of us who need to know what to expect. I still believe in Acai, because the LONG term effects are that I’m a lot less foggy now than in the past and am able to workout again, where I could not for about 2 years. I took my first Acai Pure pill tonight and immediately started feeling nauseous and have a headache. I’m not having any shakiness or heart palpitation but am certainly wide awake at 12:30 am and believe I will have trouble getting to sleep tonight. At this point I’m not sure I will take more. The bottle says to take the second day but I’m already leery of this product.
I took this product and on the second day, I had a headache that turned into the worst migraine of my life!

In regards to the question if Acai berry causes elevated liver enzymes I am unsure ,however I work with liver transplant patients and an elevation definitely occured. A patient that is quite healthy decided to try the combination of acai berry and the colon cleanser for at least one week. He was approved to take the drug however, after one week his enzymes increased to the thousands. After discontinuing the drug and repeating labs in three days his enzymes fell back into his normal baseline. Since that time I have not approved for any of the transplant patients to take the medication. I did not see a change occuring in the immunosuppression medicaiton with the use of the medication.
I went 2days taking Natures ACAI Berry Supplement- And i had the worse reaction from taking this in the first 2 days, Rapid heart beat, very nervious, the top of my head throbing, chest tightening up on me. Nauseated all day, and Very Disoreinted.. Im throwing the rest in the trash!! Worst experince ever!!!!
i bought some acai 500mg freeze dried super fruit antioxidant today and took 2 i did not have any side effects what so ever- many articles i have read say stay away from free trial offers- the ingredients on my bottle does not include caffiene
i took the supplement to and i also experianced the same thing but in my case i was having heart pains im glad that nothing else happened to me but i will never take the pill again ill just stick to a normal diet its better than abusing my poor body. i also stopped drinking caffeine and made sure my foods were caffeine free but i guess the pill has alot more juice than a regular cup of coffee.

YES, I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY…I was so happy when I received Nature’s Best Acai Berry Supplement in the mail. I followed the directions as stated on the bottle. I was hesitant about taking this because of the amount of caffeine that was in this, but I decided to go ahead anyway. What a BIG mistake!! After an hour of taking just ONE pill, my stomach starting hurting, it felt like I had an anxiety attack, my hands were shaking. I thought it was from the cereal that I ate 20 minutes after I took the pill (which was directed on the bottle). I felt a little better and then 20 minutes before lunch I took another pill(which was also directed on the bottle), and then an hour after I ate, the same thing happened. This time, I was shaking really bad, I couldn’t sleep at all, and I had a bad panic attack. The next morning, I didn’t have an appetite at all. I didn’t even have breakfast. I was a totally wreck. To make matters worse, I was charged $89.31 for a product that went along this (product is called POWER FLUSH). I’m really disappointed because this product (ACAI Berry) is being endorsed by OPRAH, Rachael Ray, and Dr. Oz. I’m still sick today from all of this. Today is Thursday, March 5, 2009, and I took the pill on Monday, March 2, 2009. This is what I get for being such a sucker for FREE TRIAL offers on the Internet. Never again, will I purchase things on line.
I, too, stay away from caffeine as much as possible. If I had known that Natures Best Acai Berry Supplement incorporated caffeine and green tea extract, which I can not tolerate due to caffeine, and only 50 mg acai berry extract, when 250 mg is what is recommended, I would have never taken that first and last capsule. My heart raced, I immediately had asthma symptoms, lost my appetite completely and had to force myself to eat something 8 hours after taking one capsule. It took ten hours before I started to feel better. There may be a better product out there. One recommended is Natures Acai Berry without the word “Best” and a different capital “A” and “B” on the label!!!
Thats interesting Lesa. I don’t get much caffeine either, so I am wondering how so much it will affect my body. My husband and I ordered a free trial. He took a dose this morning so when he comes home I’ll see how it affected him. I can’t take any yet because I am still nursing and I certainly don’t want my baby to get that much caffeine.
I took my first dose of Natures Best Acai Berry today. Hour later my heart was racing, my hands were shaking and I was sweating profusly. It is 7 hours later and I am still a little shaky. And I was supposed to take another one. I have been on an excersise plan for 2 months and have given up all caffine. I don’t know if the 200mg was a shock to my system or what, but I will not be taking anymore.

I recently got “Nature’s Best Acai Berry” Supplement. Says it’s an herbal supplement contains the following:
Chromium (as polynicotinate) 75mcg;
Green Tea Extract 225 mg;
EGCG 135 mg;
Caffeine 200 mg;
Acai berry extract 50 mg; and
L-theanine 8mg.
Supposed to take it twice a day. Any comments?
