I’m as cynical as you. Honestly. I’ve been a little skeptical regarding the furore over Acai and its magical powers ever since it exploded onto the scene (with Oprah’s timely help).

I’m pretty health conscious, so I suppose I was in a good position to analyze the benefits of Acai in a rational way, without jumping on the trend or fad bandwagon. It was when I really looked into that I started to see the obvious benefits.

You see, if you’re working out — which you probably should if you want to stay healthy, and which you definitely should if your after any kind of weight loss — then you need a certain number of nutrients, proteins and other things to make your body work properly. To get protein you might eat meat, but then you run the risk of taking in too much fat. A little fat is good for you, but too much just adds to your bulk: eating 3,500 calories more than your body needs will add 0.3lb of fat to your body. Not good.

Getting the right food is a very fine line. Your diet is essential.

Now consider a super food like Acai, which is essentially an injection of nutrients, minerals and antioxidants. This comes with no bad side effects at all. The evidence for Acai being very, very beneficial is overwhelming.

I’m convinced.
