- Acaiberrysite is not affiliated with ANY company that deals in Free Trial Offers
- You must re-order when you are ready for more – We do not store credit card numbers
- Acaiberrysite.com is certified by the BBB
- We have ZERO complaints with the BBB because we take care of our customers.
“Free Trial Offers” for Acai Berry are NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. In these scams, the charge per bottle is usually around $80. Twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. But they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying about 4 times more per bottle than you should.
You will be signed up for a subscription
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn’t be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn’t sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.
You will spend hours trying to cancel this subscription
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don’t believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround.
These bottles were returned to Acaiberrysite.com even though they did not come from us!

People sign up for free trials with some fly by night website and are unable to find any number or address to return to. In desperation the victims often send them to us. If you’ve signed up for a free trial somewhere
WE CANNOT HELP YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM SOMEONE ELSE!
What can you do to stop them?
- Before making a purchase or signing up for a “free trial”, consumers should check the company out with on the BBB Web site to see if it has racked up complaints.
- Consumers who’ve been caught up in the scams should
file complaints with the FTC online or by phone at 1-877-FTC-HELP. - You might also want to know that every time you click on one of the scammers paid ads at the far right of the google search results, it costs the scammers between 50c and $1. Happy clicking!
How to tell if the company is legitimate?
If they are offering a free trial, they are not legitimate – Those are all scams – every single one. But if you don’t want to take our word for it, simply contact them before you buy! Act like you are a customer and want to cancel. It won’t take you long to figure out they won’t let you cancel.
Let your voice be heard!
We at Acaiberrysite are doing our best to get the word out about the scammers. Below is a list of some of the more prominent acai scam products and sites.
The form below allows you to add to this list and contribute phone numbers so you can help spread the word. Please add any details you might think will be helpful to other people.

People just block/cancel your credit card!they can’t charge you anymore then!
[...] damage to the user: there are absolutely no alarming side effects. However, in the wake of numerous scams involved in selling acai online, people have become wary about trying acai. By offering a free acai trial, these rogue [...]
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I cannot express this enough. I have been on the phone between my credit card company and getting the run around from the illegitimate company for Acai Berry Pure and Advanced Cleanse. This has been an absolute nightmare. I have already lost about $110.00 and haven’t even received the product. I am going to contact the BBB along with the FTC to file a complaint. I agree that Google should have some responsibility in this…if anyone has any suggestions on what can be done I am willing to spend the time to bring these bastards down.
M.A.D.
I just called the FTC and complained. She also gave me the number to call the Better Business Bureau and my Utah State Attorney General. I suggest we also put google on the hotseat. That is where I saw the ad. We need to send messages about this to everyone we know.
I think there’s an even scarier scam going on now. Today I received a small package from AcaiOptimum. I have never been on their website, never heard of or ORDERED their product. I called the customer service number listed and got a representative who sounded suspiciously like she was in the Far East. She was rude, insisted that I had ordered the product, would not let me talk to a representative, said if I didn’t return the product I would have an ADDITIONAL $120 charged on my credit card. That’s when I realized that they HAVE my credit card number, billing adress, name, etc. and that I never gave it to them.
I did some research and discovered that I have several of the $3.99 charges on my credit card–from different companies with different phone numbers but, surprise, surprise, the phone is answered by the same girl who answered when I called the AcaiOptimum customer service number.
I talked with Citibank Fraud division and they immediately canceled my credit card. I won’t know until I see my statement if they have also made additional charges, nor do I know just how many phony companies will be setting products.
I suspect that, during some transaction on the internet in the past month or so, some employee has taken my info and sold it to this company.
The parent company for MANY of the scams that I found is Sterling Management Solutions. LLC, 2700 Centerville Rd., Suite 400, Wilmington, DE 19808.
I found them listed with Acai Berry products, Colon Cleanses, tanning, a online sales sight and God only knows what else.
Has anyone else had their card charged and received this without ordering it?
I just got off the phone with the acai company based in Linlithgow. After trying to explain that I didn’t authorize two $126.50 (canadian) on my creditcard the man yelled at me then hung up the phone. I called back and thankfully spoke to someone different. apparently signed up for a monthly subscription, which I cancelled. Now paying almost $300 in total for two bottles I hope they work. Or else it’s a huge waste of money that I didn’t know I was spending in the first place!!!
i would really like to get my hands on this product, but this scam stuff is freaking me out :S
i was wondering if there is any way of buying acai from a store or something i.e NOT online?
thanks, xx
Fuck, to hell with them. Orderd two different bottles of acai productes , got 2 of the same. After taking the first time money from my account (about 10 Dollars), they took over 100 Dollers a few day later. Was looking everywhere how I can get my money back, it seems like Im never gonna see them again. Cancelld my creditcard,(who cares, gonna get a new one), but is there anything more that I can do!!!
Hello, I just thought I’d let you all know of my narrow escape!
I ordered from absoluteacaiberry.com following reading a ‘news’ report (scam I have now realised).
I received the products today, and then immediately went to the website again to find contact details. The site has been taken down with just a contact number.
I called the number (020 7572 1228), and to my surprise someone actually answered immediately! They cancelled my ’subscription’ and I have received confirmation emails confirming the cancellation.
I have just called the bank, and unbelievably the company didn’t even take the original P&P money, so they’ve had nothing from me at all!
You could say I scammed them…! As I have an email confirmation, the bank will use this if they do attempt to charge me, but as I have cancelled the card anyway…!
Apparently this operation is not illegal…
Hi- I ordered a FREE trial of Acai Berry about the 4th Jan 10 and then I found that I had been charged on the 23rd Jan 10 £75.62. from somewhere in Singapore!!!
I have cancelled my bank card and and thought that someone had been using my card so I told HSBC and they have refunded me the money and cancelled my card!
Is this all I have to do or is there anyother way they can get any money from me?
Thank you
Tanya – Cancel the credit card immediately. It’s the only way to make sure they don’t hit you for $79, no matter what they say over the phone. You have no proof, and thousands of customers have been told it was cancelled, but keep getting charged.
Noone has reported the brand name you mention, but the scammers change names almost weekly, so they are probably a new name for one of the previous rip-off companies..
i ordered acai fresh pd 7.95 s/h came from original organics. I have until the 6th of feb to cancel before they charge my card. i called early was told to give two weeks and if not happy cancel ( this would be after they charge card 79.95 for 2 bottles plus 9.95 processing) i was thinking of canceling card ( i need new one any way) i don’t see a mention of this product on site anyone heard of it bad story or good???
Thank you so much for this advice and for the extensive list to contact these tricksters. I found the site that I got my 15 day risk-free trial offer and there it was in plain text that i would continue to be billed unless I cancelled the subscription. I used a friends credit card so I may not have found out until I owed them hundreds of dollars. Once again, thank you thank you thank you!!!
I was looking at this website and then found your web page thought it was interesting and went back to StoryofMichelle.com and read the terms and conditions that i missed the first time. Very end of the page in VERY faded text and was surprised that what you say is true (sorry !!) yes there is a subscription charge and even goes as far to say that the stories expresses may not be true !!! WHAT
Thanks guys
Wife ordered a free trial back in October. got the product and realised she could not take it because of blood thinner medicine. sent product back, canceled subscription, was charged $80.00… 2 months later, still waiting on refund for product that was supposed to be free. At first it was 3-5 days before refund was to be put back in my account. They said bank would not allow the transaction. then it was 5-7 days. then 7-10 days. When we threatened them with getting a laywer involved we got an e-mail saying that it was sent to upper management and that we would receive a refund in 30 days…that was 28 days ago. Called tonight to verify that I would be getting my refund within 2 days and now there is a problem with the computers and they have to send out paper checks…I asked to speak with someone in upper management and was told thet they weren’t there because of the holiday. spoke with a supervisor, got the run around and he transferred me to upper management..{thought they weren’t there} spoke with someone and he explained the same computer problem and said it would be up to 2 weeks before checks would be issued…he could not tell me for sure if the check would be mailed directly to me or if it was going to be mailed to the bank…I guess i may as well kiss that $80.00 bucks bye-bye. I wonder if I can bring charges af prostitution up against this company…it cost me $80.00 and I got screwerd!
I have also been scammed…and I’m in college so I don’t have money to spare. Oh goodness! I’m not looking forward to calling them tomorrow…I’m very upset with myself that I fell for yet another scam…shoot! Oh well, I guess eventually we learn from our mistakes, eh?
Good to have come across this website before falling for any of those free trail scams. Sorry to hear about all the others who got scammed. Its a good reminder that we need to be extra vigilant when placing orders online.
I feel sorry for the admin who has to repeat time and again that it was not them and that they do not offer any free trails and they are only educating consumers. Please read the article before you treat this site as one as a scam site. I appreciate this site and their admin for all the help. Cheers.
ah i see, my bank refunded me the money atleast but the transfer went through from my visa, these companies i just wana speak to the managers and absolutely go stark raving mad at him/her/them i had spoken to about 3 people on the uk number and they were disgraceful to deal with, i heard thast one guy had gone abroad because his mother was ill had come back just to find that these bastards had charged him £450 odd for about 4 tubs he enver even received 2 of them and he spoke on the phone with one person who hasd the cheek to say why do you wish to cancel your order sit and he remained calm but i would off absolutely lost the plot at them…..
Mikey – I’m sorry, I don’t know about the UKS.
But in the US, Visa cracked down and cancelled the the credit card processing for many of these scammers recently (article here), and the attorney general for many states have taken action against others.
It’s no help to those that have been scammed already, but these actions are having effect and the scammers are starting to move on to other things.
this question is to the admin would you know if this has or even will be taken up with the uks watchdog because when theres a major issue like this they are usually very good at helping find some these companys and indeed help shut them down
INF – No to both questions.
No, you don’t need to try and cancel the free trial if you cancelled the credit card already.
No, can’t cancel A free trial by email. In fact, you often will find it very difficult to cancel by phone. You did the right thing by cancelling the card.
I’m one of the victim too. Do I have to cancel the free trial if I canceled my credit card already?
Can I cancel the free trial through email?
Thanks so much!
bpmiles – I’m sorry you got ripped off – they sound nasty.
You say the company you dealt with was in delaware and called acai berry tropics,
IT IS NOT US! .
Your best bet is to cancel your credit card NOW, and dispute the charges. Good luck to you.
Other readers should note that these companies will LIE to you and say they will stop charging, then just continue on charging you month after month.
SCAM!!! DO NOT Even think about trying this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agreed to the a trial bottle which i knew the condition of it. But when i recieved my first bottle only 4 days later a charge for another bottle went on my account. May i saywhich i didn’t ever receive! I had many phone calls that ended with no help stupid ppl who gave me the round about. I thin get someone in December that tells me to send back the bottle to the company well i paid the postage to do so along with insurance. I just made a call last night(1/5/2010) regarding the bottle i had sent to them. They told me that they had not receive a bottle i had sent and that the 15days were up in august. Well the person that i talked to in dec told me to send it back! They also told me that i had to take up the postage loss with my postal company! I did call and they said that is was acai berry tropics responability to do that! But i did, and found that the package made it to delaware and that a person from the company had signed for it! So they straight out lied to me! Companies can’t be run like this! People don’t have the means to be screwed over like this! This pill didn’t even work, they didn’t even give me time to open the bottle before they charged me for another, which i didn’t get ( nor do i want) . If the company doesn’t want to deal with me i will go to ever consumer report place, and report what they have done! I want the money you took before the 14 day time was up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ray brings up a good point – sites that pose as fake news site like healthnews6.com are a new breed that is even more convincing and just as nasty. At first glance, they look like a real news site. But few clicks around the other pages of this “news site” reveal it is created just to fool people. Beware!
Hi, I too was scammed and not only have I had money taken but I have since researched the ingredients in my two products and realised they are of inferior quality- to the extent that I do not feel comfortable even trialing them. I have done some more reseaech and wish to share this with you all- feel free to pass it along to other forums- I intend to… It seems I am not allowed to list other web pages so please google these phrases- the results are interesting and eyeopening.
1.Dangerous ingredients in Colon Cleansers
2.Acai extract 4:1
3.Acai Berry scams- the untold truth: hubpages
I hope this helps more people before they give credit card details. As an intelligent woman this has renewed my faith in research into any product I plan on buying!
Well I called them yesterday ( 2 products same office, different phone#) and the reps were very nice yet tried for me to keep the items for additional days upt to 30 day since it was in my free offer ( no way honey!) I told them my Dr. advised against me taking them since it had so much caffeine.
I told each one I was taping their conversation for future reference.
I did not want to wait for their Return Merchandise Authorization # through the email so I asked them to give it to me over the phone and address. Sure enough both products came from the same office and I sent them both together today ( empty containers) I made sure to ask them that since they were opened they should not re-sell the product and both ladies told me just the empty container was fine.
The email contains information about making sure they receive said products by such and such date or I will be billed.
Well that can’t happen since I canceled my debit card after they charged the shipping cost and after my reading all the horror stories on this forum.
Sorry everyone else has to fight this scam, the BBB should really try to shut them down.
I ordered one acai berry detox and one colon cleanse together from a free trial website. I have no idea which website it was as they never sent me any emails confirming my orders. It took about a week to receive the colon cleanse.
As there is nothing much printed on the invoice – just the product name and the handling and shipping cost. I didn’t keep the invoice. However, upon receiving the acai berry a few days later, my instinct told me that I should keep a record of the purchase.
Now I only have the invoice for my acai berry. But it was too late, as I just realised that they had debited 76 pounds EACH for my acai berry and colon cleanse from my accounts. I have been conned almost 200 pounds for the 1 month supply free trial. I tried one of the website giving free trial to contact them and coincidentally they have my details. However, they firmly stated that the money is not refundable if we did not cancel our order within the trial period which is 14 days.
I can even remember whether there is any terms and conditions for me to read when I signed the free trial. However, they have given me the cancellation numbers for the 2 products and will not charged me for future purchase. It must be my oversight not to read through the terms and conditions but surely it is not justfiable for them to charge me 119USD = 76 pounds pounds for 30 tablets acai berry and another 76pounds for the colon cleanse. For 76 pounds I can have so many months of supply not for just a month. This company is really a scam.
When got back home and checked the invoice, there is no proper address, just PO box address in Linlithgow in UK, also the customer service details are different from the website. I suspect they operate these scams using different sites and different companies. So, again a few days later (I was told I will receive an email confirming my cancellation three days later) I called the customer service number on the invoice to confirm that my order has been cancelled and I was again told that my future order has been cancelled and I have to wait 3 days to wait for the confirmation of my cancellation.
I doubt they will send me any email since they didn’t send me anything when I first placed my order. Also they kept hanging up on me when I speak to them. Obviously something doddy is going on. Maybe perhaps I should cancel my card straigthaway to prevent them for charging another 180 pounds from my account as I just couldn’t trust them by just given me a cancellation numbers, there will be no future charge on my accounts. Also I sent them an email which I got from the website i.e info@acaiberry-lifeclense.com and I got the mail returned citing mailbox is full etc.
I urge any person being ripped off by these pirates to cancel their cards immediately, they randomly started debting money out of my account after signing up for a “free trial” and purchasing one of their products, first it was $80, then $27.50…. then a wopping $135… all with out any authority from me to do so. Thanks for your awesome website info – i cant thank you enough. Yikes, guess it’ll be a long battle to get my money back!! DO NOT USE ACAIFORCEMAX.COM – THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!
Kris
Acai Pure Detox and Colon Cleanse XR are other scam acai berry free trial offers that don’t work! and just are ways of getting your credit card number. For us these products do have side effects: For the past week we have had difficulty falling asleep as well as an upset stomach. This may be a result of the high caffeine content listed on the AcaiPure Detox bottle as well as the extract from green tea.
We becamse aware of this product through healthnews6.com which though it appeared to be an honest review of the product may be just another way to sell these products – so buyer beware. There are no miracle tablets other than reasonable dieting and calorie control along withg proper exercise. Health supplements should be purchased from honest companies and purchased at pharmacies and with the knowledge and advice of your physician.
WOW! I don’t think I’ve ever been so PISSED!! I was actually trying to lose weight for the better and totally get crapped on by have been charged over $100 freaking dollars geeze what STOOL HEADS!! I have two kids am a single mom but I guess as long as they get their freaking money!! Aaargh!!
Stay away from NuAgeColon.com and CertifiedAcai.com
Hi everyone, I too got caught out via a website called glasfast.com. I registered for a free trial of Acai Elite and got PureCleans pro instead. I had authorised payment of 19.95USD only for the free trial but when I looked at my bank statement two days later I had been charged for the next two months supply before I even had a chance to trial the product. I phoned my bank and they advised I file a dispute against these transactions and cancel my credit card. I am told I have a good chance of recovering my money as I didn’t give authorisation for these two transactions. I urge everyone to do the same, after all it’s your credit card they’re using without your authorisation. These scamming companies should be stopped!!
Thank you, so glad I found this site, in my desperate attempt to lose weight I ordered from one of the sites listed, received the 2 products( a colon cleanse too) on Wednesday the 30th and just canceled my debit card this morning so they will not be able to charge me their $79 when I call to cancel next week. I looked up all the ingredients listed on their products and there isn’t any Acai fruit in there and the colon cleanse tastes awful too. The only charges on my account are for the shipping of both products on the 23rd of Dec. This is day 10 of ordering and day 4 of receiving product whichever way they want to count it, luckily they cannot charge me anything more, my debit card has been canceled and I ordered a new one.
Reinhold – Sorry you got stuck, but you DID NOT ORDER FROM ACAIBERRYSITE.
If you cannot find who you ordered from, you probably should cancel your credit card and get a new one with a different number. Good luck.
PLEASE i DID NOT ORDER THIS PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MORE CANCLE WHAT EVER THIS IS NO MORE REINHOLD WHO SENT ME THIS I DID NOT ORDER THIS I AM NOT RESPONTABLE FOR THIS REINHOLD 8925 NE SCHUYLER ST PORTLAND OREGON 97220
Jill,
Sorry you got scammed, and sounds like you happened to run into one of the nastier versions of this breed.
BUT, it was NOT ACAIBERRYSITE !!!
You were probably too upset to read this page or the comments to realize there we are trying to warn people about the dozens of companies popping up that rip people off.
ALL of the Free trials are scams.
WE DO NOT OFFER ANY FREE TRIALS.
Cancel you credit card, and contest the charges. Good luck.
They’re also having a contest to where u can win a trip to the amazon and pick the berries right off of the trees and eat them on the spot.hurry this is a limited offer so get your credit cards out and feed us that goo ol’ info. Were waiting now!
ha ha.man they sure made alot of money off of u idiots lol.
DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!! I was charged for the first month before i even received the trail bottle. When i called to cancel, they said it was cancelled, but still charged for the 2nd month! Then when i called again, they said the refund for both months was being processed. After 4 or 5 calls, i was finally told that they have no record of me calling to cancel till after the 2nd charge, so there would be no refund. So this trial bottle just cost me $177!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!!!!
I ordered this product with the understanding there was a 14 day trial period. It took longer than 14 days to receive the product, and after using it for a week, I called to cancel, and they had already charged my credit card for 88.64. I was told I had 14 days from REQUESTING the trial to cancel. So I cancelled at that time, and still received another charge for 88.64 the following month and received no pills. I called to get both charges refunded, and they sent it to the ‘billing department’ to process. The next month still no refund for either charge. I’ve made 4 or 5 calls, and finally spoke to someone who told me there would never be a refund, they have no record of my first call to cancel so therefore i didn’t cancel in the free trial period, so my free trial just cost me $177!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful site! I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH. I will be posting a link to this info on every testimonial site I come across (e.g. storyofmichelle.com) to protect others
……. My story: I ordered a free trial from tradingplanetltd.com (LB Envision Net) which took 12 days to arrive. The packing slip was from Gifts Ltd. in Lithlingow, UK and the products had different names than what I ordered. Also, the shipping which was supposed to be 99 cents was shown as 3.95 in British pounds. All of this made me suspicious……. BUT in fairness I must state that the printed terms and conditions on the website I ordered from DO explain the autoship process and made it clear I must call within 15 days from SHIP date (not receive date) to prevent this. They also offered a time extension on the trial period if needed due to shipping delays and provided a number to call ……. cannot confirm whether they would actually have done this or not as I never called them as originally planned. The number was in the UK and after reading on this site of others’ experience I decided just to cancel my Visa and have it reissued with a new number ……. an interesting twist: Visa confirmed that NO charges had been applied to my credit card, not even for the shipping on the free trial I received! Maybe I was just lucky.
I just want to say thank you to this site and all the people who made comments. I had made up my mind to try some Acai Berry for weight loss. The plan was to order it and be ready to start Jan 2010. I had a few sites that had the free trail offer (sites that are on the list above) which I was going to order from. Thank you all for saving me the money and heart ache. I love seeing the BBB label on a site and now I know where to order from and who I can trust. Thanks again. Remember what goes around comes around those sites will get all evil they have done back.
Can you get your money back
Hello, I have had the same problem as most. I ordered acai berry from a website for a free 14 day trial. I received the trial shipment 15 days later and called number on outside of package as described. There were 30 days worth of pills shipped to me. I never opened the bottle. As it was Thanksgiving I did not send it back right away. I was going to call and cancel on the 14th day which was Dec 8th. I happened to look at my bank account before doing so and saw a charge of approx. $87.00. I called and spoke to a person in a foreign country who said they would cancel it for me however no refund would be issued. He refused to let me speak to a manager even after I let him know I would dispute charge with bank and inform bbb of there actions. Then Dec 17th I was charged another $25.00 for a elite pak which is a company associated with them. They stated if they trial was not cancelled within the 14 days there was absolutly no refunds. I do not even know what their trial was for. So all is disputed with the bank and I have cancelled my bank card and ordered another. Beware of the fine print in these ads nothing is ever free.
I had ordered a “free” sample and tried to cancel right away and wasn’t able to get through by phone and immediately mailed my cancellation to the address given on the website. They did bill my credit card and I got the phone number of my statement and called. I was told that they were just the billing company and gave me a different number to call. I called and explained that attempts were made to cancel and told them that I had informed my credit card company that I was disputing the charge and putting a stop payment on anything from them. The credit card company was very helpful and reversed the charges, three in one month for varying amounts for the same item!
call them now and cancel within 15day if u dont they will charge u. i got charged $260 and there was nothing i could have done they told me if i call before 15days. on the terms and condition they also mention that if you are not satisfied with product we will refund withing 30days of order. i have told them this and they kept refusing until i kept calling and this lady said she will get someone to contact me. but i really doubt they will
hi i got a free trial of acai berry and am scared they are going to take more money. is there anyway i can stop them from taking money from my credit card? like a block or something??
I came across a site offering “Free” trials of Certified Accai pills & ColoThin pills & i got some pills in the mail today but i got some that are called TriSlim (which have no accai in the ingredients) and i also got a bottle of ColoCure. Why would i get pills i didnt order? & How effective are the one’s i got?
Hi, in that day (25 November 2009)I just saw in my screen the advertisement with the name “Natalia’s Weight Loss Diary”, she tell a lot of good comment about Acai Berry and Colon Cleanser, show clearly the link to entry the Free trial for both, and it said: “Promotion end 26 November 2009″, that’s why I (and a lots of people???)felt hurry to catch a chance,I also saw many good comments from different people with clearly time and day they were post but when the next time I log to this page again ( 10 December 2009), the day of promotion offer change to 11 December 2009 and the time and day of these comment that EXACTLY THE SAME WHICH WERE I SAW AT 26 NOVEMBER WERE SHOWN LIKE “POST ON 8 DECEMBER,9 DECEMBER …”. I felt????? about this offer.
Haha got em
Yeah, that works and serves the bastards right!
But remember, they know their customers will never be happy, so they don’t bother sending you “real” acai.
You’ll get some worthless crap. Not freeze-dried.
Don’t expect to see much, if any, effect from the garbage they send you.
Haha they tried to scam me but I paid with a prepaid visa with 3 bucks on it they aren’t gonna b too happy when they find out they can’t charge me any more
Im just one of the many unfortunate people who have been fooled by these scumbags. I thought it was a fair trial to just pay for shipping on my first order, there was no small print or terms and conditions otherwise i would have thought twice about it. I paid £10.76 for the first two trials that i agreed to then i noticed that a month later on my bank statement that they had taken a further £160.46 wich obviously i hadnt agreed to and hadnt recevied any products to show for it. I have since logged a fraud complaint with my bank and had my cards cancelled and received new ones but just recently my bank have informed me that they cant go ahead with my complaint because i gave the non existent company my card details in the first place, iam truley not pleased about this because i didnt agree to them taking the second transactions so as far as im concerned that is fraud. There really is not much i can do for myself anymore to get my money back only that i definitely have learned from this but i can warn other people who may be tempted by this to good to be true advert because belive me and the many others who have experienced this it is to good to be true. DONT FALL FOR IT,they really are the scum of the earth!
I was also fooled. I called and inquired about the 83.95 dollar charge on my check card (the acct has since been cancelled) and asked where I signed up to pay 83.95 per bottle. The CSR assured me that I had and was willing to walk through thw website with me. I informed her not to bother and stated that I had disputed the charge with my bank through a fraudulent claim and that the charges had been reversed. I offered to send the product back which was declined. Be ware of Acai Berry Breeze in Scotsdale, AZ!!! Phone #s: 800-232-8803 or 866-421-6554
I fell for the scam as well. i paid .99 and have now been charged for 79.62 without receiving the product. I called CSS Health Products people was mistreated. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold forever. The supervisor was name MArcus Johnson, he said he would not refund my money. He said there has been a bottle already sent to me, but its still in the mail, and that’s why I was charged again. After I receive he said I have to send it back, if I do receive. The address is 3001 Greene ST., Hollywood, FL 33020-1037. Even if I do receive the product if I send it back they will probably say they never received it. I called Chase and they are making a claim, but it sounds like from reading I won’t receive any money back. Another charge is pending so I can’t do anything with that yet. Now I have two charges for 79.62, one pending, also there was a charge for $3.95. Something needs to be done. I am going to call BTB tomorrow, hopefully we can shut this place down, and hopefully I will receive my money back.
I cant believe i was just scammed. I just received the products in the mail and started to do research since the labels on the bottles were not the same as the names on the brochures that came with it. AcaiBerryDetox and LifeCleanse(or Probiotic Cleanse thats what they sent me) are scams. I thought I was above all internet scams in this day and age. I went back to my creditcard to see the 99cent charge they made when i initially ordered and i am shocked to not be able to find it. Unfortunately I do not remember if I used my credit card or debit card, but I have cancelled both to be sure I am not charged those $70- $80 people are being charged. Good Luck!! I am calling the 866-949-0138 number first thing tomorrow to see how i can return this crap.
I fell for the free trial period of Certified Acai. They offered a free trial for just shipping of $2.99. The product never arrived. I then find out that I’m now subscribed to a scam for $65.00 per month unless I cancel during my trial period and send the unused bottle back. (Pretty hard to do when you never go the product)
I will dispute with my credit card company and if I have to, change the card number. DO NOT BUY FROM CERTIFIED ACAI – they are fraudulent scam artists!
I just stumbled across this website and thought I had better check on the free trial I had agreeed to and guess what I have to been scammed. I will be on the phone first thing in the morning however I face another problem I am in australia so there is a time difference. Let you know how I get on.
Furhter to my comment on 31.08.09 about tradingplanetltd.com. Even though payment was stopped the product (14 day trial) arrived. I sent it back with a letter explaining everything that had happened and stating they would receive no payment and not to send further supplies or contact me unless to confirm my wishes were being respected. The parcel was sent RECORDED DELIVERY and to date this has not been delivered. I just get messages saying it has been redirected to another address and delivery will take longer. How many times is it going to be forwarded? This is definitely a very suspicious set up. BEWARE EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Be careful. they will get you. believe me you will end up to pay $79.95. they will charge you acct. by the time you get your credit card bill and call them its too late. Do NOT try ANY free trial – you are playing with fire.
I, like so many, fell to the Acai Berry Risk Free Trial Scams. One day while surfing the web I noticed some ads on various websites claiming to get you ripped in 4 weeks without exercise or change of diet or lifestyle. I clicked on it and was taken to a blogged apparently maintained by a guy name Jason. The blog contained an audio recording about how Jason ran into some extra from the movie 300 and how that extra told him that he was taking two Acai berry supplements that help him get ripped without much effort. The blog apparently called this miracle supplement the 300 workout. I clicked on the links that were provided on the blogs which one was for Acai Force Max, and the other was Acai Detox. Each only required to pay for shipping and handling with your credit card and since the price of S&H was minuscule, I thought no biggie. Unfortunately, when the packaged arrived it wasn’t what I expected. Instead of receiving the bottles as pictured, I received two bottles that were not presented on the two websites. An e-mail conformation provided a phone number and I immediately dialed thinking that I been had. I got an answer 5 minutes in and was told that the bottles I got produced the same effect, but yet I was skeptical. I told the detox one to cancel it and to my surprise it was done right away and I got to keep the remainder of the bottle at no additional price. If only every risk free trial was like this and kept true to their word as advertised. The other bottle on the other hand proved to be very difficult to cancel. Since no where on the website at the time of the purchase did it say that I will be signing in to a subscription for the full cost of the product per month, and since I was under the impression that it was a risk free trial and that it was actually free, even though it wasn’t since I had to pay shipping and handling, I told the operator to cancel it. Apparently, the operator told me that to cancel the subscription would require me to return the product to them and pay shipping and handling for it. That’s more of my hard earned money going to this crap. Then I get charged next month and never received my product. I called the bank and they actually helped me out because they advised me to cancel my current credit card and be issued a new one which I did and recommend to everyone in the same situation. Cancelling your credit card would stop the charges and since you did not authorize the purchase the company cannot sue you for not paying. Apparently, the trials work on a “your silence means you accepted” basis which is under fire by the FTC. Something has to be done to stop this scammers using risk free trials to lure us on. Don’t get me wrong, there are many risk free trials that are truly risk free and don’t charge for shipping and handling. Legitimate trial offers actually request that you accept a subscription if your satisfied otherwise the subscription is merely a promotional good. If only most of the Acai Berry trials were like this. Buyers Beware.
It’s sad how many of these websites are just free trial scams. I’ve been promoting some of the free trial stuff for a while (acai-burn-detox.com) , but I’d like to become affiliate with just per sale offers. Can you recommend a company that has a good affiliate company, but only does Per Sale offers?
Do you have an affiliate program?
I too was scammed by this evil company – “FWM Laboratories”. Here is what I did and I suggest you all do the same. I contacted the BBB in Hollywood, Fl. I e-mailed them a vitriolic letter about this bogus-rip off scam and then I filed a complaint with the BBB. I asked them to get me my money back and told them that this company is ruining the reputation of Hollywood, Florida world-wide!!!! Also, close your accounts if you need to and have the bank re-issue you a new card. I also called the company and ripped them a new one and said I would go after them. The poor guy from India will not be the same! C’mon people, enough is enough. Stand up and be heard. This sort of crap has GOT TO END NOW. I am a single, unemployed mother who they STOLE money from. I just filled out a survey for a reputable website and then fell for the “free” gift they were giving me for my efforts. Little did I know that “FWM Laboratories” in Hollywood, FL was going to soak me for $200. That’s taking food out of my child’s mouth. I am going after them with a vengance. I’M MAD AS HELL AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.
Larry Kreiser –
Also, you say:
“It even states clearly before I bought it that I would need to call and cancel within the trial period or I will be automatically charged”
That is CLEARLY not the case with the vast majority of free trial offers that are making people so mad. ALL of them that I have seen put those terms at the very bottom of a long page, in very small print.
Please post the url of the offer page where you purchased from to show that they CLEARLY state the terms of their offer, and I will remove Certified Acai from the scammers list above.
Larry Kreiser – IF your order is indeed cancelled and you are not charged anymore, that will be great, and very close to what someone would expect.
BUT, 99% of the free trial offers will tell you your order is cancelled when you call, but you have no proof. On your next credit card statement you may see an $80 plus charge and realize you also were scammed. I hope not, but it is the norm.
Even if you were one of the few lucky ones and the company you happened to deal with isn’t so sleazy and actually let you cancel easily, that doesn’t mean everyone else here was so lucky, and you shouldn’t feel so superior just because you were lucky.
re helonmelonz
as mentioned previously i was scammed by trading planet in the same way as you. i also didnt receive the product. contact them again and advise them you will contact google about their shoddy treatment. i received a refund offer within 24 hours. this was after phoning and emailing them previously to no avail. please folks out there contact google they do have the power to remove these sponsored sites.
Well, I guess my case was different. I ordered the free trial from Certified Acai. Paid 2 bucks for shipping, tried it for 15 days, called and canceled and sent back the remaining product… No run-arounds or hassles here. They were actually very polite and professional. It even states clearly before I bought it that I would need to call and cancel within the trial period or I will be automatically charged. How is that a scam? You people need to read everything before you purchase something. If not then I guess you really have no room to complain about being “scammed”. Just my thoughts!
I´m from brazil and i like to purchase açaí berry, how do i make ?
I fell for the ‘free trial’ in August, dispatched from Trading Planet Ltd. I received the Acai Berry Detox soon after. I only actually started using them in the last 2 weeks and decided to check the web about getting more, and found this site!
Having read the terms & Conditions when I signed up I didn’t think I’d been scammed! That was until I red the posts on here! I then went and checked my bank statement and sure enough a transaction for £77.08 in October taken by a company called Face Factor. A bit more digging on the internet and they are the same company as Trading Planet ltd. Needless to say I haven’t received any further products from them, so money taken without my consent and no product dispatched.
I rang customer service and they are only open 8-8. So I rang my bank and asked them to check if any other transactions had been made from the same or different company names. Luckily no more have been taken, and my bank are investigating it and I will probably get my money back as no products were ever received.
If you have been a victim of this scam contact your bank or credit card company and you should be able to at least get some or all of your money back.
I ahvr been scammed since july for one of those free trials on ACAI XM. i went through an ad that was on CNN thorugh the internet and it stated the same Oprah and Rachel Ray backs it up. On my bottle the company is called XM Labs 800-440-4397 and I have called several times and never recieved crap but my bank is being charged every month from 109.00 to 139.00 the amount varies. I have called my bank (FRAUD Department)and cancelled my card. This really sucks! Please help if there is anything else that can be done.
It would be grateful if u tell me where to get gud product…. without scam….and it should hav shipment to India alsoo….
Guys plz help me..
SOUNDS MORE LIKE SCAMERS-BY-NATURE INC
scammed success
previously i mentioned i was scammed out of 141.45 times 2 its now been 4 weeks and no product arrived. i contacted trading planet again and advised them i was contacting google about their treatment of me by keeping my money and also not sending the goods. within 24 hours i had been offered a refund. i have just checked my credit card and i have been credited with australian 131.78 twice. so folks go to google they espouse doing business without doing evil. if enough of us contact them maybe these sponsored sites will be shut down.
how to order?? Is there side effect or not????
Can’t believe I just signed up for the trial (no terms and conditions anywhere), then found this site. Sure enough, I have three payments on my card, awaiting authorisation. Total of about AUS$60 – a lot more than the $1.95 trial shipping I paid.
Have cancelled my card, and as soon as these three payments come through on my account, I’ll submit a “disputed transaction” claim, and after up to 6 weeks will hopefully get the money back.
Yes I have been scammed only this morning. Firstly let me make it clear that it was not by this site. The site I used did not have a box to tick to say the conditions were accepted, that should have been the first warning. Secondly the Visa Secure was on the screen and not in the bottom information panel where it usually appear, that should have been the second warning. My shipping charges after using a special promotions code were $2.25 per item ( I ordered 2). Because I felt uneasy I googled the product and the words ’scam’ appeared. I immediately phoned the bank to cancel my credit card. There had been 2 debits to my account of $2.10 each within minutes of me making the order. Be careful out there people. I feel extremely sorry for those who have been caught out and especially for the ligitimate suppliers of these items that are trying to make an honest living. To the people who work for the scam companies and think it is alright to do so, I feel sorry for you, you have no concience and probably not a very good future because you certainly are not very bright. You may reply that we who were caught out are not very bright either, in this case, quite true, but at least we have scruples. I hope for all of you that Karma does exist.
I am now among the hundreds of people also getting scammed. Orderd the trial offer for .99 and then got charged $87 on my credit card. Disputed the charge with Chase. There was no phone number on the charge so Chase called. Company said it was in the fine print that I would be getting deliveries each month. Chase gave me the phone number and I called. Told them I never received the package and unless they have a signed proof of delivery I am not paying and also told Chase who originally said there was nothing they could do. I also got the address of this company and am writing them and the BTB and Consumer Affairs Dept.
i am so thankfull to this website! i was filling my details in for a free trial of acai berry colon cleanse and my internet froze an knocked off so i went back on the net to find the site to carry on with my details and came accross this site. i have read every single comment on here and i think it is disgustin what people will do for money absolutely disgusting! so thank you for having the list of scammers and i am so glad i came across it. thank you!
I was scammed out of 141.45 australian dollars twice by face factor and age defy. after signing up for the free trial of life cleanse and acaiberry. i have since cancelled my subcription and my credit card however although they took my money they have not sent me anything for this money and 3 weeks have passed. I am interested in the clicking on their website and them getting charged for the clicking. if we all did it and asked our friends to do it we may put them out of business. can anyone tell me what i have to do.
anita
I’ve been scammed!!!
Back in august i ordered a free trial of “Acai Berry Ultimate Fat Burner” and only paid for £3.95 delivery, they say it was risk free and didn’t have to pay a penny.
Now in october i get money taken out my bank by smart health they took out over £100, i did not authorize this at all!
Apparently i had to tell them 15 days after my 30 day trial that i did or did not want to carry on getting them, i was unaware of this and thought that a 30 day free trial… was free just for 30 days.
I have come to realize that it was not free and i had to pay for the free trial plus another two bottles of the product that i did NOT want and did not know i was getting!
I rang the UK based company that were dispatching them to me and they said they have cancelled any further transactions, we will see if this is true and they say they are looking into refunding me £80, which i believe will not happen. I have also emailed them if they get back in touch!
I feel like now i will have to destroy my bank card and get a new one as this company have all my bank detials and can take my money out my bank in different names.
I do not want this to happen as i am a single mum on benefits and need all the money i have!
PLEASE anyone who is thinking of getting any products please don’t go into a actual shop and get them, don’t do anything online!
No fool like an old fool. Wish This “true” Acaiberry website could block out the scam ones. I too ordered from the Oprah website and am receiving charges every 2 weeks – from different account names each time – so far – $200 worth. What a terrible mistake. Never trust ordering off the computer. How dumb was I??
I’m shock to see my bill today. Face factor 119.02 USD and Age health 119.02 USD. I ordered the free trial more than a month ago and this is the price I’m gonna pay.. Can’t find the website anymore for this free acai berry it looks different now. I called my bank and they said I have to cancel agreement with the company. I do not know what to do. Charge to experience? Wow! a very expensive one to learn.
I just fell for this a few minutes ago. Luckily for me I also found this website while further researching the product offered in the free trial. I will contact my CC Company early tomorrow and cancel it since it seems that is the safest bet. Props to this website’s admin for keeping the scam database.
P.S: nothing in life is free.
I also fell for this. How embarrassing…
I placed the order and then noticed they will bill you $100 15 days after your order and monthly after that.
I was charged the shipping (~$5) immediately.
WHAT I DID TO FIX THIS WAS:
Call my credit card company and tell them I was scammed. They closed my card and sent me a new one.
Cronikhael- go to the website you ordered from and go to “Refunds and Exchange Policy” at the bottom of the page. There is a number that you can call. Tell them you want to cancel and they will give you a confirmation number for canceling. They told me I only got charged for 99 cents. Make sure you do it asap. They told me if I didn’t cancel by november 4th I would get charged the full ammount. Good Luck!!
-Jesica
I ordered the free trial for 99 cents at the scam website. I had no idea until I tried finding the website that I ordered from and I couldn’t find it. So thankfully I went to this website and seen that there was a list of the scam websites. I cancled just in time so I wouldn’t get charged for the full ammount. So thanks for having that list!!!!
Thank you so much,
Jesica
Ok, I fell in the scam, I made the order 2 hours ago, is there any way to cancel it ASAP?
I can’t believe I fell for it, but I did… It’s not F()#& Funny.
When I started reading this page I Felt my heart was coming out of my chest.
I really wanna thank you guys for posting up your experiences.
What can I do right now???
Ethan – Maybe the company you work for doesn’t steal from people. That doesn’t mean that other companies that push the “Free Trial” scams use the same guidelines your company does.
The fact is:
ALL of these Free Trial companies mislead people by hiding the contract details in small print at the bottom of the page.
ALL of these Free Trial companies make it very difficult to cancel the subscription
MOST, (maybe all) of these Free Trial companies start sending more product before the 15 or 30 day trial is up
MOST, (maybe all) of these Free Trial companies send a crappy, near worthless acai berry extract (not freeze-dried) and charge $80 for it. DOUBLE THE COST of a quality freeze dried product, and at least FOUR TIMES what it would cost with a normal profit margin.
Yeah, ok, so MAYBE your company abuses and skirts around the law to stay barely legal and continue to rip people off. But I doubt it. They probably change the product they sell, and website it sells from regularily so they can avoid prosecution. Here today, gone tomorrow they are.
I’m proud to say that I work in customer service for one of the acai products. Just let me clarify that we don’t have any customer service ninjas that go into your house and steal all of your information so we can rob you. In all actuality, you are the moron who put all your information on the WORD WIDE WEB. There is no company out there that steals your info, you were the one that put your C/C number in at some point in time…there is a reason that these businesses are still in business; they play by the rules and that is why the BBB or the AG can’t shut them down. Because they know that you were the ignorant one who put your information out there for the world to see. You were better off just putting your SSN out there too…good day. PS you are all idiots.
Several comments on this Site refer to people like me as being ignorant, stupid, a “dumnass” (you could at least spell it right), etc., for falling for trial offer scams. Or, that it is our own fault for not reading the fine print that is stated clearly on the Website.
In my case, I never even ordered a “free trial” of acai anything. The only trial offer I’ve made over the Internet was for teeth whitening. I did read the fine print and was able to canel w/o any problems, nor additional charges.
What do you do when you are a victim of ID theft? The acai scammers somehow obtained my VISA number and personal info through fraudulent means. Every two weeks I would recieve a bottle of Acai Berry Detox, but from a different manufacturer. Then other products started rolling in like Resveratrol and some kind of face cream. My info was getting bounced around everywhere. Over a two month period, nearly $700 in unauthorized charges had been charged to my account. I tried contacting several of the companies myself, but got nowhere. When I was asked to enter in my 16-digit credit card number to log into “my account”, I knew it was a scam and went directly to my bank and cancelled my current VISA number, obtained a new one and disputed all of the charges with my bank who refunded every penny. File a complaint with the FTC to put these thieves out of commission.
Google people, google. Educate yourself a bit before approaching some place with your wallet in your hand. Scams have been around forever, and as long as McAfee secure is legit as well as the certificate checking works legitimately, you should be able to see the red flags of a disasterous website before you even click on the link and see their phony page.
Wow, I really feel for all of you guys. But, to be honest, before I ever pay for anything over the internet, I make sure that the site and products are scam free. Even with ebay, I make sure that whoever I do business with has great ratings, and I check to make sure that the ratings are legitimate, as well as I always read the negative ratings. I knew just from the advertisements of “just pay for shipping and handling”, that it didn’t sound right. If the product is “worth” $80, then why would they give you a “free sample” of THE ENTIRE PRODUCT??? Free sample = a sample, and not the entire package.
It doesn’t matter who is endorsing the product, I will google the heck out of the product and site before I reach for my credit card. Because…come on people, Oprah is a celebrity (I’ve seen Oprah’s name come up in several comments). Just like anybody that you know, not everyone of your friends/family members will be totally honest to you. Oprah gets paid from products like this, she’s so popular, that she doesn’t even need to be seen using it. Whether she uses it or not, she can just say she uses it on t.v. and the mass population of the U.S. will believe her as well as rush to the stores to buy what she’s using.
Maybe none of you would have a bit of a problem if you just read what you were signing up for before you put your Credit Card information into the INTERNET. Everything these comapnies do is legitamate, and is legal. No one is to blame but yourselves. Go to the BBB, go to the Attorney General, and issue a chargeback with your bank. None of it will get you anywhere, because all of the information was available to you. Weather you chose to read it is at your own discretion. Dunbasses.
Yes, Frank, that is correct. Each time you click on their ads (at the right side of screen when you search) it will cost them 50c or so. I would LOVE to print this out in bold all over this page, but, if I make it too prominient it could get me in trouble with Google…
WHAT A F***** joke. These people have taken $500 over 6 weeks out of my account for a “free trial bottle” of acaiberrydetox that I found advertised on Oprah’s site. I have just cancelled my card- wish i seen this site first. thanx oprah!
PLEASE HELP! NEED NUMBER TO ACAI FIT TO CANCEL!!! HELP PLEASE!! EMAIL ME with the info PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!
I too fell for this scam. I’ve just order a free 15 day trial of a Youth Cleanse. I’ve received the order number and than my connection has dropped. I came out hoping to receive an email with all the detail. How naive I was!
I cannot find the same website; they look similar but not the same.
I am left with the order number; I also remember that the payment on my card will be under ‘Get Stronger’. My last hope is that they send me some contact details with the order, so I can try to cancel. I did ring my credit card company and the shipping charge is already pending. I’ve cancelled my credit card but is this enough?
Thank you, I wish everyone good luck,
Ursula
I too fell for this scam with Trading Planets Ltd and now Health Science and I am trying to cancel the transaction. On the 15 October, I was sent in an email that the account was cancelled on the 1 October 2009, but I have no cancellation reference number. They also say that the cancellation effective date is the 14 October, from which date they will not ship anything to me anymore. However, I have received an invoice marked order date 1 October 2009. I know that I was on the internet on the 24 August and they sent me an invoice of that date saying that Life Cleanse is shipped and a charge of Pounds3.95 shown for S&H. Nowhere on the invoice is any refernec to a subscription being taken out. There is no reference to the website. There is no terms & conditions shown anywhere on the invoice or any refernce made to such suggestiing that a subscription is entered into. How can this be legal? On the c/c a charge of Pounds3.78 is ahown under 25 August. Another charge for Pounds24.76 dated 12 September, for which no invoice or any explanation has been received as to what this charge is for. The entries shown on the credit card are marked up as Focuscleanse 3618088234 5.97 US.Dollar CYPRUS includes commission charge of Pounds0.10 and Citibank*com 76sek896, 208-472-9400, 40.19 US dollar USA includes commission of Pounds0.66.
Now I am in receipt of another bottle of pills with invoice dated 1 October showing a charge of pounds82.95, which no doubt will appear on my October c/c.
I seem to remember that I have come across Trading planet on Google, when searching for soemthing. If Google is earning its advertising money from peaple clicking onto an advert, than surely one way to get beck at this people is to continuously clicking onto their adverts without purchasing. Their liability then would increase to Google without any income. Is this right or wrong? Because if this is the case, I would be happy to sit in front of my computer clicking onto Trading Planet until they run up a hefty bill to Google.
For those who were scammed by other companies – Here’s a suggestion: did you receive the product by US Mail? Do they use a US PO Box address? If so, file a complaint with the US Postal Inspector at https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/contactUs/filecomplaint.aspx
If there are enough complaints, we may be able to get these folks criminally prosecuted. They WILL slip up somewhere.
Mail fraud is often used by prosecutors to get scammers when they can’t nail them any other way!
How thoroughly frustrating, I stumbled across this not long after I fell for the scam, so I started looking into how it could be cancelled. The first one, Acai Force Max, had a number listed, so I called them and had them cancel my order. All I have to do is return the pills when I get them and they won’t be charged, as long as it’s within the trial period. So I’ll see how that turns out. Careful though, with this particular one, it had another recurring charge bundled with it, called world club fitness, that I had to cancel separately. If you can manage to do this, get your cancellation numbers. Not sure if I’m out of it yet, but we’ll see.
A second site, AcaiBerry Exclusive, is a bit more worrisome. On their site there is no contact information whatsoever. So I called my credit card company, and they said they’ve been dealing with a lot of these types of things, but it was good that I caught it when I did. I told them I had no way to cancel this one, and they said to keep a close eye on my statement, and to call them as soon as one of the charges appears and they’ll fight it.
This is just ridiculous that these companies can get away with this, and I’m sorry to all the people that have lost a lot of money.
OH I AM SOOO freaked out right now! I am staring at 2 charges of 131 bucks each for the FREE 30 day trial I ordered…JUST got from AcaiBerryDetoxandLifeCleanse… but was CHARGED full price of 119$ (US) after 15 days of ordering!! Are you kidding me?? Visa tells me they are totally legal cuz they have in writitng somewhere on their website…HA! They have their # on my bill…lady answers your call…takes forever to not be able to find anything outside of your VISA # …then lets you know how sorry she is…DOES SHE HAVE A CONSCIENCE!!!??? WOW!!! I am soo freaked out…THANKS TO THE CALGARY GIRL who did their advertising…what a bunch of crap!
I found this site: http://www.paulgetsripped.com/ which I also believe to be fake. Shows a guy getting “ripped” in just 4 weeks. Oh my, those tattoos didnt take long to heal at all should have been a warning but when your clasping at straws to lose weight you dont recognise these things. Also the guy claims to live about 2 miles from me but his writing is purely American and he wouldnt normally speak like that.
My first incling that something was wrong was when it said I would pay $2.95 to cover shipping and handling but when my card was processed it charged me $12.90. I called immediately within hours of making the purchase and cancelled. Apparently additional overseas shipping charges are mentioned only in the terms and conditions.
The 2nd company Absolute Acia Berry I have been unable to contact so far but as a precaution I have cancelled my credit card before they attempt to bill me for anything else. To date I have paid around $20. It remains to be seen how much of this is returned to my card but it could have been worse so please be on your guard when buying from unscrupulous websites thats show super slim female models or guys that are so ripped their veins are bursting through their skin. There is only one sure fire way to lose weight and that is to burn more calories than you consume. So eat less or exercise more or both.
I just received email correspondence from acaiblast4free.com to the effect that credit billing was declined on my credit card and if I wish to keep the trial product already shipped, I need to provide another credit card to be charged $79.95. If I don’t want to keep the product, I should let them know via email and they can send me return instructions. I beat them at their own game by using a prepaid credit card! LOL It appears they change their webpage and product name every week. I went to the website today, just for kicks, and now they are calling the product AcaiSlim. When I first went to the web page, I was looking for Acai Berry Edge, but actually received something called Acai Pure 3 weeks after the original order, and it looks nothing like Acai, it’s more brown than anything. A week after I order the product, I received a confirmation email for my purchase of Acai Berry Blast (yet another product name!) I’m debating on whether to respond to their email, or let them seek me out like they make all of us do when we try to cancel. My advice – beat them at there own game by using a pre-paid credit card. I love it!!!!
hey, i ordered a probiotic cleanse and the acai detox and an acai plus from acaiberrydetox.com, the acai plus was from china! i couldnt even read the package. I just got the acai detox and clease a week ago and have a 30 day trial, they already sent me a whole new bottle and my trial isnt even up till oct 25 so im sure i was charged but its not worth the headaches bothering to call those scammers to get your money back, i just called the bank and canceled my card, sure i pry lost 80 dollars but they will get no more money from me!
i have been charged around $79.95 and another $77.30 for this crap Acai detox from acaifire4men.com. so i sent an email they said will stopp the shipping but has send a package for me already.. so i call my bank to report this and stop my card.. now i need to dispute to get my money back from this thieves.. That’s horrible.. bying for internet and trying to believe in companies they are totally fakes and frustating to our life.. No more!!
Hey everyone i feel bad for everyone who was scammed, i recently ordered acai berry and colon clense but dont remember what site off hand i do know i only had to pay 99 cents for each bottle.. Thankfully i used a prepaid card to place this order so just in case it is a scam i wont be billed an extra funds, i would suggest anyone who orders anything online should use prepaid unless you really know the company. Good Luck
I ordered ACAI Berry and Life Cleanse from a company on the 15 “Free Trial,” unfortunately for me DID NOT read the Terms and Conditions. After 7 hours I was able to track down the company number and cancel my order. I then called VISA disputes and gave them the cancellation numbers. This way they can dispute if they try to put any further charges through my VISA. However, there is NOTHING I can do about the initial charges. The company is “Trading Planet Ltd. and phone is 011 44 80 8238 9891. They will put you on “hold” while accessing your account, tell you their computer is broken to call back, OR tell you they do not ship to Canada. None of this is true. The best way to approach it is to pretend that you are calling to inquire about your order. They will then look it up and you can TRY to cancel at this time. Make sure you get the confirmation number for EACH product ordered. Good luck!
I cant remember which of the “scam” site it was I ordered the “free” trial from. I also ordered it for my partner to his address and my bank account has just been debited for £315 pounds for 4 subscription – thankfully my bank (abbey) have been very helpful and the fraudulent dept should have the money back in my account within 10days.
Oh my god!! I have just purchased free trials for power cleanse and Acai berry detox and my account has been charged with two lots of £50.00. Both the products are in your picture above and the problem is I only have the phone number and email of the power cleanse that I bought and have no details of where I purchased the Acai berry tablets from. I have gone through all my emails and everything I can think of …but nothing! I am worried that more money is going to be taken from my account. Will be ringing the bank tomm to find out if they can block any further payments going out.
This is disgusting!
Gaynor
OK… have found this site… AFTER I found extra charges on my card!!
these are the two sites I ordered from:
colonprocleanse.com
AND
power-blast-acai4free.com
DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH FORTY FOOT POLE!!!
They billed me for SHIPPING of an extra FOUR bottles of Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse….. I rang my bank straight away – the bank told me that they WON’T reimburse me for the unauthorised FOUR charges… roughly about $20, BUT that they will cancel my card immediately so I won’t get hit up for any more extra charges from these sods! My bank told me that I had agreed to sign up for the extra charges…pfft… I will take this up with them tomorrow in person and see what they have to say then!!!
Anyways.. bottom line is that the bank will cancel my card AND I have also emailed the company to tell them that I did NOT give them permission to bill me for stuff I haven’t received!! AND I have cancelled my order with them…. After reading what everyone else sid about the muck around they got – I am not prepared to sit back and take that one as well…. so I have cancelled my card effective IMMEDIATELY! (Heck I hope they read this!!!)
I am SO glad I have been able to find this out ASAP…..
Also for those if you who DO have BOTH Acai Berry PLUS the Colon Cleanse… open up both the tablets – or rather the capsules… you will find that they BOTH contain the SAME INGREDIENTS!!!!!!! The contents smell the same and the look the same… I woulda thought acai berry tablets would contain a pink tinged power – and not the same dull brown powder that the colon cleanse contains…?? EVEN MORE reason not to do “business” with these scammers!!!!
IS THIS A SCAM OR WHAT!???!!!!????
Thanks HEAPS to those who have saved my and my family from losing more $$ to these scammers!!!!
Kate
so i placed the order 9/2/09 with AcaiBerryBlastFree.com and the free trial expired the 15th by the time the 14th came around i still haden’t recived the product. i call the customer service number and they extended the trial till 9/25 on 9/21 my bank account was overdrawn they had taken the $88.64 out before my free trial was up, so i called the number listed next to the transaction and talked both her and her manager denied that the transaction was taken out. so now i have to dispute the charges, go through the hassle of getting a new bank card plus pay the over draft fee!
acaiforcemax.com got me. These are smooth operators. I too was dooped and when I followed their instructions to return the product, they played dumb until I proved I had sent it back. They said if you return the product then they will refund the charge of $79.28. Well I followed the instructions perfectly and when I called to say they had not refunded it they said, well did you return it? yes. when? at such and such date. with whom? usps. I dont see that do you have a confirmation number? yes. what is it? XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. AHHH here it is. yes, I am crediting your account now… bunch of low lives. my advice, KEEP YOUR DOCUMENTS AND ALL NUMBERS!!!
I signed up for the free trial and just pay s&h. Never received a trial and then was charged $87.13 before I ever received a bottle. I dont remember what website it was, it was one of those that popped up. It was the Acaiberry Detox though, the phone number is (866)949-0138. I have called 3 times, they have been rude every time, and dont want to work with you or understand that the point of a trial is to try it and then decide if you want it. She gave me a RMA # and address (3007 Greene St., Hollywood, FL, 33020-1037). I just wonder if they will actually credit you for it, if not Im dont feel like wasting my time or money to ship it back. I think I saw where someone said they never credited them back. Has anybody had the problem with returning them and not getting a credit back? It just worries me that they still have my card information, dont trust that one bit. Im debating on whether cancelling it.
Hei there-i just finishing receive too bottles of your product 1- AcaiSlim and 2-Super AcaiBlast. I Would like to find out if i can take the too products in same time for a weight loss.
Thank you
Lilieth
Ok ok im now more confused than ever wish id not read the reviews all I want 2 know is if this site is good so I can place an honest order or are they crap like the rest that everyone is complaining about please let me know……….. cheers
We who have been scammed (I am so humiliated to admit that I fell for this free trial offer) must stand together and demand that our credit companies dispute the charges and stop these criminals. I have just begun my fight today. Genuine Acai Berry with a web address of: newslimu.com were the criminals that fooled me. My credit card company advised me to send back the bottle that I just received and the address that a young man named “Justin” at Genuine Acai Berry gave me was: 4141 Raymond St., Suite F, Phoenix, AZ 85040. I’m sure the “F” stands for “FRAUD” !!! I will let you know what comes of it. I have to get a receipt for the credit card co. when I send it back to use as proof because they don’t think that the people at that address will sign for my return shipment. But they definately said we will fight this! Genuine my foot! There is 300mg of caffiene in each capsule! My doctor took one look at it and said “Do NOT take this product!” I will also get a statement from him. Keep your fingers crossed for all of us and ask your credit card compant to DISPUTE THE CHARGES!I originally commented on August 31st. On 1st September I rang a phone no on Scotland and told them what had happened and not to bother sending me the product and was given a cancellation number. 10 days later, even though they hadn’t had the full payment my trial pack arrived. I returned it with a letter again explaining everything, quoting the cancellation no and posting recorded delivery so that I could track it’s journey on the Royal Mail Tracking service. GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It hasn’t been delivered but forwarded onward and I am advised that delivery/acceptance of my package may take some time longer. WHY CAN’T SOMEONE STOP THEM TRADING OR CLOSE THE WEBSITE.
BEWARE OF “PLANET TRADING LTD” I very much doubt they exist or if they do they are not legal.
FOR MOST OF THE STUPID PEOPLE WHINING: THIS IS NOT THE SITE THAT SCAMS PEOPLE OUT OF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS EVERY MONTH! OPEN YOUR EYES AND READ THE TOP HALF. THEY ARE WARNING CONSUMERS ABOUT ORDERING FROM SCAM SITES. WHY ARE YOU IDIOTS KNOCKING THE COMPANY THAT DIDN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR FINANCIAL LOSS??!? GET A BRAIN YOU RETARDS!
unbelieveable. I signed up for a free trial with ProjectSwole.com, and before a statement arrived from my credit card carrier there were 6 charges each for over $86.00. when calling my credit card my balance had gone up an additional $170. this is criminal. i had to cancel my credit card and report all the charges as unauthorized (truly). hopefully i can re-coop $220+.
I have been done big time by NaturalSourceStore.com. they have taken $135.00 out of my credit card I have email then months and months ago to stop sending the tablets which i only recived,2 lots and sent them back. and I told them i have only recived 2 lots and sent them back to them but never recived any refund, But they are still took my money
I just wanted to let everyone know that I received an e-mail today advertising “Acai Berry Power Slim“. It claimed I would receive a “Free” 14-day trial of the product and would only have to pay $4.95 for S/H. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I actually fell for it and placed the order. After I had placed the order, I started noticing some pretty weird things on the website. For one thing, it was not a “secure” website…there was no “s” after the http and no “padlock” icon to indicate a secure website. Another thing was the fact that there were misspelled words all over the site…that raised a red flag and I clicked on their “terms and conditions” and that’s when I saw that I was actually going to be enrolled in a monthly reordering at a price of $79.95!!!
There was no mention of that on their main website…you had to go looking for it and it was very, very small print.
Fortunately, my credit card through Bank of America offers something called “Shopsafe” which gives you a “virtual” credit card number/expiration date that is used only for that transaction and would not be any good afterwards. Since I had just gotten my virtual number from my credit card, I immediately went back in and “cancelled” the number. So, if they try to bill me….there will be nothing there…the number no longer exists!!
It feels really, really good to be able to stop these thieves right in their tracks!! I wish I could see the look on their faces when they try to charge a credit card that doesn’t exist!!
I was really lucky, but I know alot of people that have been scammed!! Please be careful and be very wary of anyone offering “free” of anything….remember there is no such thing!!!
Good luck!!
I went ahead ordering on AcaiBerryDoctor.com without reading the fine print. I then called my bank and ordered a new card, which has a different #. This stopped the charges. Just wanted to share.
It’s the 13th day of my “trial period” and I’m not getting any response to my cancel attempts with AcaiBerryBreeze.com. I should’ve looked before I ordered the trial supply of AcaiBerry Detox. Canceled my card just in case after reading
all the horror stories. Thank you for sharing!
I’m sorry I didn’t find this site sooner. By pure luck I went to check my account online and and saw a $79.95 charge from yesterday in the pending transactions. Not having purchased anything that day, I called my bank to see what the charge was for. They gave me the phone number for Acai Berry Detox. The girl on the phone asked for my name and email and told me the scripted response of subcription blah blah and cancelling within 15 days of order and that 15 days was up the day before. I told her can’t you cancel the whatever and just refund the money. She says oh I can cancel it, but in order to get my refund I had to return the bottle to 3007 Greene St. Hollywood FL 33020-1037 and write RMA# on the outside of the box. I included that last bit of info just in case anyones BS meter needs another tick. I knew it was a scam by the time she was done BS’n me and was already kickin myself when I told her I get that I am basically screwed and hung up. Thankfully, the charge was still pending when I call my bank back and explained the situation and they allowed me to dispute the charge. The bank reversed the charge and said there might still be a chance for them to get that money, but I have my hopes I caught it in time. If I don’t get screwed, this $.99 “free” trial will still have cost me @ $6 because I went ahead and cancelled my card and ate the cost of getting a new one. My only satisfaction from this is that my fiance ordered hers from a different site and was charged $2.99 and another charge for $.42 cents. I called her and had her cancel her credit card and get a new one and the lady at her bank laughed because my fiance had beat the acai scammers to the punch. The lady at her bank had been a victim too this scam and was very helpfull. I hope many more people find this and whether your too late or not, CANCEL your card and get a new one before they get ya again and again.
and BTW guys i talked to two different reps from the acaiberryonline.com one was grace and the other was rachel but im sure theywere teh sam elolzzz….ok so for ur amuzement im gonna post the conv here….and i was so desperate i literally made up a storyto have the ordered being stop for payment….so i told them my card was cancelled so i will give them a new account number so they can charge me on tht instead(i think it worked since they didnt charge anythign on the card..only what i thaught i was paying so merely 15 dollars) and i also told them that oh i need to have it shipped to new address…so had the pleasure of talkin to two reps with my freaking out face i was ready to cry lOLZZZZ…..so here’s the convo wid rachel to whom i made up a story of giving them a different account number!!!ENJOY

How do we, the consumer, know if you are honest or not.
I purchased the free trial of Acai Berry Detox and Life Cleanse. I called to cancel on the 14th day of the trial and everything was cancelled for both products. I have confirmation numbers for both. I will wait this my card comes in and see if there are any charges. I am fortunate, my credit card company will reverse any amount for anything I did not order. I will let you all know the outcome, I will let you know if they are honest or not.
I ordered from “Trading Planet LTd.”
I saw an ad with Oprah and Dr. OZ and was fooled into believing the acai-advanced claims, and ordered a “free” trial. Then I saw your site. Oh heck no! When I ordered I saw an error message that my order did not go through so I ordered using a second card thinking maybe I had done something wrong. Guess what? Both cards were charged! I have cancelled one card to prevent further charges after multiple calls to cancel one order, was told at first to just refuse and return to sender. Luckily I opened the one and it says:”We cannot process or refund packages marked return to sender”. It also states only a Store Credit will be issued for all returns processed after the 15 day trial. It was 10 days before I received my product and I have one order with a return number. I am going to get a second return number first thing monday am, and cancel that credit card and get a new card due to claims they make not beng true. The flyer that came with the product states “The ingredients in Acai Advanced are FDA approved and commonly used ingredients for cleansing and purifying the body”. The bottle states,a daily value has not been established and *These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.This product is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any diease, but rather a dietary supplement intended for nutritional support. They give a customer support number not open on Sundays 1-888-247-5160. After being mislead by the customer service person about the “write refused on the envelope and seeing in the paperwork it won’t cancel. Then calling to cancel one order and being told it was cancelled. I called the credit card company and no refund has been shown yet.I will cancel the second card and get a new card re-issued with a new number. I may have paid $5.95 two times but you can bet I won’t give them the chance to charge me
for anything else! The Live Lean For Life Number for customer service is 1-888-272-6483, and takes you to the same place as the cutomer service number for Acai Advanced. The address I have for them is 41 Canal St. Lewiston ME 04240. I won’t do that again! If you got scammed you cancel your card and have a new one issued BEFORE you get the big bill. Do not wait! Contact your credit card company right away! I have learned my lesson! Nothing is free!
Email these people. That is what I did. go back on the website you ordered it from, and there has to be a button on the bottom that says “cancel subscription”.
I only use paypal or my debit card, not a credit card. With a debit card, you can have the bank block the charges… and with paypal, you can dispute the charge and block them as well. Its a little more sticky with a credit card company. I also emailed them, unsubscribed (and I didn’t know I had subscribed in the first place! Sheesh) and I havent had any more plms since.
I thought I was smarter than falling for this scam! I paid the shipping fees for a trial size of Acai Berry Detox and Life Cleanse with Trading Planets LTD , and suddenly found that after my so-called 15 day trial period and WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION, have had $87.13 x two bottles taken out of my checking account! I have been calling this company and getting a runaround. They keep giving me excuses and lying to me by telling me they have canceled my subscritpion (didn’t know I had a subscription) and today they told me they have already refunded my account but it will take 7 to 10 days to show up when they first told me it would take 3 to 5 days. Have you seen my refund because I haven’t and I am so angry.
I too was scammed..i got the free trials myself..the first one was colon cleanse which was 4.99 i order 2 because i did it for my sister as well..it took them 4 days to bring the first one but i still havent got my 2nd bottle..then i got acai berry breeze which was .99 a bottle again got 2..so far they havent charged my card any other than the $1 but they sure won’t either..i called the number that was on my statement and i NEVER got ahold of anyone..so i contacted my bank and told them to cancel my debit card and issue me a new one..i got a charge from the colon cleanse of $84.94 but after hearing all these stories im glad they will NOT beable to continue..thanks to this site i will NEVER purchase “free trials” again
I orderd the free trial this a.m. Fortunately my card company were suspicious and contacted me to say they had taken 3 different amounts for 3 different companies. The card company said only way out was to block payments and cancel card but 1st payment couldn’t be stopped as already gone through for £2.87. I consider this (£2.87) a small price to pay compared to what might have been, but have now got the inconvenience of my card having to be cancelled and wait for it to be re-issued.
I feel so sorry for anyone who wasn’t so lucky.
Hi I got interested in the Acai Berry and started to look for some on the internet . well there was a zillion of the companys and they seemed to all be different when you look at them.
then I LOOKED CLOSER….seems alot of them even if they have a different name or label on them all seem to revert to the EXACT SAME PAGE if you scroll to the bottom and look at the”POLICY and other FINE PRINT or TERMS and CONDITIONS ”
seems most of them are seeming to be coming from the UK or at least thats what they wish you to believe.
READ THEM CLOSELY!!!
personally I would only purchase anything on a one shot situation.
IF I WANT MORE I WOULD AGAIN PURCHASE….never sign up for anything.
the internet marketers are exactly the same…sign up for our “FREE or NEAR FREE product and you will NEVER HAVE TO sign up again…WE WILL JUST KEEP ON BILLING YOU EVERY MONTH TILL YOUR CARD EXPIRES.
IT IS RAMPANT on this internet.
USERS BEWARE!!
I had signed up for the free trial which I usually don’t but with only $1.99 how could I resist. I did that back in April. Well I clearly do not check my credit card statements enough (which I now will do) but I have been charged atleast 4 times a month dated back to April till today. These charges are outrageous and total over $800.00. I’ve called to cancel and this lady didn’t actually transfer me from person to person or hang up. Instead she gave me a bogus number and told me to fax my credit card statements to them. When I asked who I should put attention to, she said Jewels. I can assure you in a place with that many people working you would have to put a lastname or ID# and the number she gave me wasn’t a fax number but for a local buisness in El Paso, Texas. I’m not even going to bother calling back , I’m just disheartened that this kind of thing happens. I’ll know next time not to be so naive.
I also was scammed, offer 30 day free trial, paying only for the shipping of 1.99 and 99 cents, it was for Acaiberry Detox and Life Cleanse. I was charged 39.95 and 49.95 + the shipping and international tax fees on my credit card. A few days later two charges of 87.00. Contacted the number 1-866-949-0138 they kept putting me on hold and when I finally spoke to someone they kept saying they where having problems with the phone connection and I would be cut off. I started screaming, I would contact the Attorney General that this company was a scam and I wanted my card credited for the full amount. The lady on the line kept telling me I could not get a refund. I sent the products back to 3007 Greene St. Hollywood FL 33020. I canceled my card,so they would not put anymore charges on it. Yesterday another package arrived, I am so upset with myself for falling for this scam. I wish I would have found this website before I ordered the FREE trials. I feel alittle better that I am not the only one. Something needs to be done about these SCAMMERS.
Thanks to this website and the people who commented about the scam, I did manage to call the company (866-949-0138) and get a confirmation cancellation number (don’t know yet if anything stopped from this) and I reported my debit card as compromised/stolen and am getting a new one. I know a little bit of money will be lost, but at least not the awful amounts that have been taken to others. Thank you everyone for your help.
UGH. I’m afraid I’ve been scammed as well. I noticed the 800# you provided on this website and that’s the one I have. I sent my bank an email to cancel my card, and first thing tomorrow I will be contacting them in person to cancel the card. I want to thank everyone for their input and help in saving me (hopefully) in this matter. I only ordered 2 days ago so I am hoping I can catch it in time.
as you may also have read above, i TOO fell for the scam but i was lucky, i didnt have any money in the bank for them to take, so i received a call from my bank this morning, telling me that there is possible fraud on my debit card, so the very helpful assistant started to list a few of the places that they blocked that had been trying to charge me, first was for the website i got the so called ”free trial” from, they tried to charge me £50 for (i assume) more shitty tablets, and i said no i have never heard of them so he went on to block those arseholes from scamming me, and then he went on to list a place or website or…..i dunno probably related to the same people, they where called aquaban, i had never heard of them until i looked them up on google, theyre also selling some water retention herbal tablets, so theyre obviously involved, i also had them blocked, he then listed websites i had been trying to buy items from which i said where ok because i actually who they were, i have now had my debit card blocked cancelled and totally destroyed, and im laughing at them because they’re plan has backfired, they have no way at all of ever getting my bank details again and i find that comforting, but it has caused a bit of an inconvenience as i have just been paid, and i have no debit card….., to anyone who is reading this, if you have fell for this scam, i would recommend you call your bank immediately and get your debit/credit card cancelled and replaced ASAP, this way they cannot take out a monthly subscription from you, they could also help you reclaim money stolen from you, and to anyone who is THINKING of applying for this free trial, just dont bother, because it will be a scam, if you want any acai products i recommend you buy them from a local store instead of an internet website just to be safe. hope this information was helpful.
I too was scammed by Gold Cleanse. I wasted 2 hours of my life trying to get my money back from them. I eventually had to cancel my card in order to avoid having any more charges on the cc number I gave them. It took them a month to ship the product and their trial period ended before I even received the product. I didn’t know they were going to charge me $87.13 for another item until I saw the charge on my bank account. Their customer service was bogus. Someone answered the phone, only to hang up on me after having me on hold for 15 minutes. I had to call back and spend another 1/2 hour on hold before I got a live person on the phone. The entire process of getting my money back took over a week for the credit to show on my bank account even though they said 1-2 days.
I just want to thank the owner of this site. I too was considering gettting the free trial but after learning what its really all about I am entirely greatful to you all=) && I feel awful for you poor people that you got your money stolen=( For the Record ppl this is not a scamming site! They are here to better inform us!
I ordered from AcaiBurn.com. It was a nightmare!! I was furious to find out they were taking money out of my account without authorization. I had to cancel my card just to keep those scammers away from my money. Horrible Horrible Company!!!
Having already been a victim of identity theft, you’d think I would’ve been more careful about what I ordered online. Unfortunately I didn’t use good sense and ordered my “free trial” from Acai Berry Detox. Not only did I not receive my “free trial”, I now have a charge for a product shipment I’ve not received. After a 35 minute conversation a supervisor agreed to refund the charge but now doesn’t want to cancel my subscription. We were “accidently” disconnected so I’m on hold for a second round. Thank you to the administrators of this site for providing the contact information listed above.
Thanks to all of you I was able to successfully cancel the order I made only yesterday. 8/20/09. It was through acciberrydetox.com. I started off assertive in demanding that my order be canceled and stated that I would contact my Senator, the FBI and the BBB if necessary. They sent an e-mail confirming my cancellation and I was given a cancellation number by phone. I also have the customer service person’s ID number. I already contacted my credit card co. and was advised what to do by them, which was to cancel. If any charges appear on my account I now have the letter proving cancellation and they will send the charges back to the company. If any of you have ordered through acciberrydetox.com here is the number for customer service so you can cancel: 1-866-931-6798 Good luck to anyone else and thanks again for making me aware that even an old woman(me)can be fooled.
looked up this website on bbb this company has an a- no complaints filed and has only 3 employees it’s a detailed report so don’t hassle him he is the only one who appears on the up an up.igot scammed caught in the nick of time cancelled my card first thing then repeatedly called an emailed beware my prepaid debit card company said there is a chance even after changing your card they can try to force funds from your account
I ordered the free trial as most, was charged 39.95, 77.55 and then 88.55 without receiving any product. I called and cancelled the order. You have to call at 4:00 or 5:00am to get through. If you mention the FBI, BBB, FTC, CIA and the INS you might get your money back like I did. They will give you the runaround. I would call everyday until the funds were credited back to my account. I’ve had to close my account and open new ones to keep them out. My first and last time to order on-line.
I only ordered the free trial for.99 cents which was charged by CleanseGold (877) 814-4672 (www.shipmentassistence.com). I had called to cancel them before the 14 day trial period. I ordered it on Aug 2nd. My card was charge don the 3rd and I called to cancel on the 7th b/c I was worried about reading all the scam messages. They told me I was cancelled and would not be charged for any additional shipments, etc.
Then today I noticed a charge of $87.13 on my card from a ColonCleanse (877) 814-4672 (www.myordersupport.com). I couldn’t get through with the # so I went online to chat with a rep. She told me I didn’t cancel until I had contacted her to do it.
I have the conversation copied in a word document.
Send back what you have. First get on the website and chat online with a rep. HGet the return ayuthorization bumbers from them. When ou mail it back, make sure you take it to the post office to have it tracked. That way you can cover yourself. That’s what I am going to do.
I am so disapointed in these people.
Patti – You did sign up with a scam site.
The good news is you probably still have time to stop being charged. The surest way is to cancel the credit card.
If you can’t do that, you must keep calling the phone number until you get thru, and make sure you get a cancellation number. I’ve also heard reports that people have more luck if they tell the people they are talking to on the phone that they are recording the call.
I don’t remember the site name. I did save to my computer the statement saying they were billing me .99cents for the trial offer. It was for ACAI BERRY DETOX PL (or LP?) on my debit w/ cc logo. there was also a Nature Cleanse for .99 cents. When I tried to save the statement for the cleanse it came up for the detox which I already had. I AM VERY WORRIED NOW. I did send an e-mail to them @ billing @fwmlabs.com and demanded the order be cancelled.I just hope I can find the addreess for Nature Cleanse since I have no order number for them. I think the phone number was the same for both products: 1-866-949-0138 which I have seen in comments here as a SCAM. I will let you all know what I find on this.I think I’ve been SCAMMED! The order was to be here yesterday: Saturday, 8-15-09 and nothing came.
Patti
I canceld my freekin account after a week af the run around… it was insane! i Seriously had to call 10 different numbers and ended up getting changed 30$ for sum membership to something – fortunatly the lady i talked to refunded my money (even though it was suposed to be “non refundable”) and then got charged $40 for “LIFE BERRY” that came w/ the “free trial”… i red the fine print and seriously NO WHERE does it say anything about this… i was so angry and talked to the manager at the company and he said i could return it for a refund. but i have already canceld my account. i guess a $40 loss is better then some.
I just got totally scammed! I ordered from Acai Advanced the “free trial”. Then I was checking out my cc statement today and found a charge for $64.95 from Acai Advanced. I was like WHAT??? I called them and apparently the $64.95 charge was for the “free trial” because after 15 days I didn’t return it. They also charged me $24.95 for an online class…huh??? I didn’t even know there was an online class! Ok, so I am a business owner and when my clients are going to be charged for something they KNOW it! I was outraged!!! My lesson…read all of the terms of agreement! I know this was my fault and now I have cancelled the agreement so I shouldn’t see any more charges. As far as the acai berry…I did like it. I even told her that I was considering ordering more, but that I would NEVER do business with a company as dishonest as theirs!!!! So if I ever use the acai berry again I will buy it at GNC or simply pay full price for a bottle….I will also read the fine print!!! Please don’t let yourself be in the same position as me!!!! Be wary!!!! This free trial cost me like $100.00!!!!
Thanks for this! I was thinking about trying a free trial, and ran across this page. I see them listed as one of those that aren’t really a free trial. Guess I shoulda known better, but at least I stopped in time.
Correction to previous. I wish I would have read this page before the free trial. That is messed up.
I also got caught up in the free trial thing. I am sorry that I did I would have read this first.
Just like so many others, my card was charged for a “free trial” I made the mistake of falling for (not by acaiberrysite.com).
One suggestion that has helped me. Call the card company and report your card lost and when the new card is reissued make sure you get a different number.
Get as muchn information as possible and depending on where you live, report your information to the BBB,Fereral Trade Commission, your attorney general and other agencies including the FBI
Good luck
Jackie Hook – Yes, you are right. The FREE TRIALS are a scam and will continue charging you no matter what, even though they give you a verbal cancellation. But, you did not do business with us. Your comment makes it sound like you are making a recommendation on Acaiberrysite.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND – We do not ship Free Trials, and are not associated with those who do.
PLEASE READ SOME OF THIS PAGE AND DON’T REFER TO ACAIBERRYSITE AS IF WE WERE THE SAME AS THE SCAMMERS.
We have an A rating with the BBB, which would never happen if we did the Free Trial scams.
When in doubt, go to your credit card management page and request a “temporary number” with a fixed limit. Create the limit a few cents above the “free” cost. Us this temporary card to make your purchase. Then if the company tries to charge you for more unwanted things later, they’ll get denied.
My spouse ordered the free trial. She is not receiving the product and they keep charging for it. You can’t contact them, and the telephone numbers I received from my credit card company to vcontact them don’t work. The Credit Card Company indicate that my spouse agreed to this contract, and thus she has a contract to this scam. They do not answer any calls to cancel the shipments at any number I have being given. DO NOT ORDER.
okay so ive been thinking about ordering the acai berry stuff, should i get it or not?? i have not ordered at all yet, i was soooo close to ordering the freetrial offer, but something told me to keep searching..i found this website, but now im thinking does it work?? should i order off this website?? let me know thanks.
First time ordering from Acaiberrysite.com. Received my item QUICKLY and I have nothing to worry about in regard to be charged monthly for a “free trial” subscription.
I actally was on a different website that was selling this product and I READ the small print under TERMS AND CONDITIONS which did state about being charged monthly for the product, an automatic renewal as they put it. Once I read that, I did not order from that website. I NEVER order anyting online that offers a free trial subscription as I know NOTHING is FREE there is always a price to pay somewhere down the line!
So my advice and common sense, READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS before placing the order.
Am happy with the Acaiberrysite.com, website and if this product works for me, I will be ordering again from them. Thank you!
i ordered what i thought was acai berry.to only be charged every 2 days.49.95 so i talked to someone online and yelled like i never yelled before and told them to refund me and why they took that much out.and there response was i enrolled in a program and it cost more for a healthy weight loss program or something stupid like that.so they refunded me all of my money and ups came to the door with there package and i refused it so tracked it,and when it got to the shipper finally they charged me four times after that.i caled up there and told them unless they want a law suite they better refund my money back.and all of it.i went to the bank later that morning and put a hold on my account so no more charged came out.and reported them .and a week later i had to evntually get to my money and un froze it,and they put one more throughsame thing all over i called. etc got my refund and switched bank accounts and credit cards.my point is people are scams and switch your info because they dont care if you say no at all!lucky i got my money back ,be careful some others wont be so lucky.
To the owners of this site.. I feel so sorry for you having to put up with all these rants by people accusing you guys of doing dodgy business!! To EVERYONE out there on a rant for falling for a FREE TRIAL OFFER acaiberrysite.com is not to blame!!!
A scam. Only thing to do to be SURE you don’t get more charges is to cancel your card and have it reissued with a different number. Probably a good idea to do every so often anyway, as who knows how many people have access to the number, (and the 3 digit “pin” on the back of your card). I ordered a “free trial” of Colon Cleanse 3000 two weeks ago, received the pills one week later and before I found these complaints, I went on earlier this evening and ordered the “acai whatever” trial. I noticed that “Abby” stated she lives in my town. Funny, she also lives in my daughter’s town, 3 hours away. That shipping charge hit my card within minutes! I canceled the card. Pain in the ass to do, and to have to be without a credit card for a week, but now i can sleep tonight knowing I thwarted their attempt to scam me…. well, almost. They got me for the shipping charges and i likely got some placebos.
Kathi Schrader – Yes, a pre-paid credit card is a good idea to protect you in case you are unsure of a seller. I would say it is mandatory if you want to risk signing up for a free trial offer, since EVERY ONE of those are scams and will charge you $80 or more and make it very difficult to cancel.
I would also like to point out that even if you do use a prepaid card to order a free trial somewhere else (we don’t do any) and avoid being charged ridiculous amounts, you really won’t be getting the deal you think.
The scammers that push free trial offers all ship a very inferior product. They do not ship freeze dried acai berry, but instead use heat dried concentrates that destroy the antioxident properties of the berry. Those products cost the scammers 1/2 or less the cost of freeze dried acai, and are nearly useless.
So be aware that the free trial offers ship worthless junk. And if you find it doesn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean that acai berry will not work for you – it just means the junk you got doesn’t work.
david fecko – We (acaiberrysite.com) do not offer ANY subscription payment plans. All we do is ONE TIME sales. You signed up with someone else. Our credit card processing does not have the capability to charge a credit card again – only the initial payment that a customer makes. ONE TIME.
Boy, am I getting tired of repeating this over and over. I understand people are upset, and rightly so, with being ripped off by the free trial scams. But can’t people read a couple of these posts and realize that is not us, and is not what we offer?
i want to cancelany future shipments of acai berry! Its for women and i didnt know plus ive heard of the scams going on and will not pay any inquiring charges or i will sue your company for failure to comply with your cancellation process! I request an email with a cancel confirmation thank you and i dont think you should put false numbers on your website this is fraud!
Nicole – YOU DID NOT ORDER FROM US !!!
We do not charge $84. We do not offer any free trials. We are not associated with any other websites.
Kathy Bryan, and finnie5 – Please read a little bit before you post.
Acaiberrysite.com DOES NOT OFFER ANY FREE TRIALS !
We are not related to any company that does. We have an “A” rating with the BBB, because we answer any questions and REFUND ANYONE that has ANY PROBLEM whatsoever.
I guess I’ll have to keep posting this same message every couple of days since people just go to this page to vent (understandable) about the scammers that have ripped them off, and post something that makes it sound like there is only one company that sells acai berry products anywhere on the internet.
WE ARE NOT RELATED TO THE SCAMMERS ! We are trying to educate people to stay away from the scammers.
Yup…wish I had done my ‘research’ before hand. Same problem here…just within the last few days. Just looked on BBB and sure enough an “F” rating. Here’s what the BBB has to say…”We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.” They’re listed as SFL Nutrition (South Florida Nutrition). I have filed a dispute with my CC company. Please…everyone…do what they can to spread the word. I can’t believe they are not shut down yet.
okay to make it easier, i just cancelled my credit card so now they wont be able to do anything!!
that should fix the problem right??
As was mentioned in earlier comments, the first thing you see is free offer for 30 day supply, but in the fine print of terms/policy is where it states you have to decide if you want it in 15 days or you will be billed. I was billed around $83 which is not a deduction that is easy for my budget to swallow. I have let this company know that they are a scam & VERY misleading & that I would be warning people just as you all are. Thanks, Terry
I ordered the free sample months ago. It did not work for me. I DID not realize that I needed to go deep inside your sight to realize that I was going to be paying $84.63 a month forever. I don’t have a job and I really don’t have this money. Now you are not sending me the product as my bank is in dispute with your company over these charges. When you try to stop these charges, good luck, they are from a million different companies and you stop one and the other one starts hitting your credit card. BEWARE!!!!! This is a scam and you will have a hard time ever getting out of it. Their phone number is always busy, I have talked with numerous people who are caught in the same situation. I am contacting our local TV station to let people know what really happens to you when you say you will pay the shipping and handling, they rip you off forever. If they were a real company they would call you, stop charging you, and stand up like they should for what their company to prove they are honest. Today is July 13, 2009, and I have been fighting them for at least 6 months.
Beware of giving them your card number and hope that you read this comment, IF they even put it out there for you to read.
Kristen,
They already have your cc number. Simply giving them your number does not allow them to charge you. They need the electronic proof that you filled out their form and (unknowingly) accepted the billing agreement.
Some people have had luck working with their credit card issuer to get the charges stopped, or, you may be better off just cancelling that credit card.
Good luck.
Natalie – I’m sorry to say you are describing one of the scam sites, and they will be charging your credit card very soon. You need to call the card issuer and temporarily stop all charges on that card, or cancel it.
Some of them DO get shut down but many more spring up in their place.
Im not usually this careless with buyingthis type of thing online but i did and after reading so much of this i am very worried. But i can not remember the site i purchased on. Im so stupid to not have even saved the site. i Guess i just assumed they would send me an confirmation email, but of course they havnt. All i remember is the site was quite Large. It scrolled down forever and there was a talking lady in the corner of the screen talking about the berries. It also made me fill out some question thing to see if i qualified for the free trail. please if anyone can help me track down this site. Im extreamly paranoid now. Can’t believe how careless i have been. And cant believe none of these sites have been shut doiwn and taken to court over.
Thank you everyone.
so in order to make them stop give them my credit card number again and ask them to stop billing me? What happens if they take my number and just charge me instead?
Kristen – I think you are wrong.
The customer service person may, or may not have access to your cc number.
But somewhere, the credit card processor does. And they WILL keep charging your credit card number without mercy until you get a confirmed cancellation number, or cancel your credit card. They are bloodthirsty, stinking scum, and you MUST take action to make them stop.
Rosa (and all) – PLEASE READ THIS:
There is no single “acai berry company”. There are a few that sell Acai Berry, and dozens, perhaps hundreds, that push the free trial scams.
Acaiberrysite.com does NO FREE TRIAL OFFERS or subscriptions.
We are NOT AFFILIATED with any company that does any free trials.
ALL FREE TRIAL OFFERS ARE SCAMS.
Please understand we are not associated with the scammers. A shady used car dealer that sells Hondas is not the company Honda.
i didn’t receive it til 3-4 weeks later. it’s weird how they sent me two mails saying i purchase it on the 3rd week when i didn’t. i wonder if changing my account numbers would stop it. IM SO RAGING AT THIS COMPANY!!!!
also, I just called them and they are asking for my credit card # to cancel the account.
I did not give it to them, but they said if I dont give it to them they cannot cancel the order.. and will bill me $80. but if they don’t have my number on records anymore, then they can’t bill me correct?
I can’t believe I got myself into this mess! does anyone know how to help me with this?
how do I cancel my order??? I dont want to be charged every month!
what do i do???
anybody ever order from this website or this company ( acaiberrysite.com)?
Does this company trustworthty?
All I can say is Thank you! I started researching after I thought the bottles looked like a scam! There were no ingredient specifications which made me very weary! It was very hard to contact the company and like many others have said, there was so email confirmation, invoice, instructions how to use! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS INFORMATION!
After reading alot of the complaints from this website. I suggest never fall for free trials…..I also would not order this product over the internet. I purchase the product at a local feel rite store. Do yourselves the favor and go that route!
this company is a scam..i cancelled my order and because they had no record if it they still charged my card and would not reimburse me. i will not do business with them ever again. on top of that they called me 15-20 times a day i was even hung up on several times. services suck!
please let me no how 2 cancel it i cant get a hold of no one 2 cancel it what do i do? please let me no so i wont keep being charged never will i do this again
i would like 2 cancel my order im sending it back but need a cancel number
I am pissed! I ordered a free trial from Acai Herbal back in April 09 and all they have done is take an outrageous amount out of my account and waste my time and money calling them numerous times. First of all, when I got the free trial in the mail there was no invoice, no instructions, nothing in the box, just the pills. Right away it showed $80.33 debited out of my account, I called 4 days later and spoke to a guy that said he cancelled my order and the money would be released from my account. He never told me I needed to send the pills back so they ended up taking the money out. Then 3 wks later they took another 78.99 out of my account. I have called more than 7 times and have documentation of everyone I spoke to and all they keep doing is giving me the run around. They say they are not authorized to give me the corporate off number or any info. I have yet to see the money in my account and I would like some help trying to resolve this matter and get these people in trouble. The phone number I have to call them is 888-471-1788, but they will not give me any other numbers. Thanks!
Sadly I am one of the suckers that fell for the free 14 day trial, which starts ON THE DAY YOU ORDER. I recieved my ACAI BERRY DETOX 8 days after ordering. To make a long story short, this company did everything they could to make it difficult for customers to contact them, including never sending me an e-mail confirmation, also the only thing in my pkg was the bottles of pills, there was not even an envoice nor instruction sheet about the product. Almost a 3 weeks later my credit card was charged almost $88. I spent forever trying to get through to them, when i finally did I was told that if i had called during my 14day trial i would not have been charged and i could keep the remaining product. But I now had to return the product to them before they would refund me the money! Big scam with this company!! Stay away from the free trials they are not free and cost u a fortune in the long run, not to mention the time and energy to get it fixed. Shipping my trial bottle back tomorrow, and just hope that they do refund my money without me having to call them back!
Your stuff is probably a lot better than the stuff I get at Costco… but the great thing about Costco is the return policy. It’s nice to see some people who are actually selling legit products at fair prices. Have you noticed how popular Acai has become and how fast. Seems like everyone and their dog is trying to make a buck off it. You picked a tough business. I’m sure honesty in advertising will really help you.
i have already ordered the free trial and it has been 5 days i am going to cancel it right now! will i still be charged if i cancel before the 14 day period is over
Someone just called me saying they were sending me a free trial in 3-5 days. She rattled off the benefits and all of the lines you see in the advertisements. I never gave my credit card information. Will they still bill me?
I ordered the Acai product that was endorsed by CNN and Oprah Winfrey on June 13th, with a promise that it would be delivered in 2 – 3 days. When the product didn’t arrive in my mailbox ten days later, I called the company to ask why, and they told me it had been out of stock and on back order until very recently. When I mentioned that my 15-day free trial(which begins on your date of order) was about to expire, they promised to extend that date, and send the product out again that day. I asked why I was not notified that the Acai product was out of stock at the time of my original purchase, but they didn’t respond to that. Feeling I couldn’t trust them, and realising an amount of $65 would two days away from being debited from my bank, I went to the bank and put a freeze on my account, until Monday when I had to close it completely in order to prevent these predators from further damage. I will never do a ‘free trial’ again.
You people are absolutely correct. I didn’t read the fine print either until I had submitted the form. I called immediately and was told that clicking the submit had validated my request for the product and the automatic charge to my account. I ended up paying to return the product out of my pocket but I did get them to cancel. Unfortunately or fortunately my credit card was stolen and I cancelled it so there was no way they were taking any more money from me anyway.
So I got my order cancled. They did not give me the money back that they scamed from me but they cancled my order right away and sent me a confirmation e-mail.
I found the Number from looking at my ONLINE TRANSACTIONS.
All the numbers that people have been giving on here only work for certain products. I ordered Acai Berry breeze. They asked for my order number (which you can find on the package they send you), my Address and name.
Number to cancel for Acai berry Breeze Products from Arizona
1-866-421-6554.
Good Luck =)
What number should I call to cancel the subscription that I did not know I was getting scammed into?
I just got off the phone with these scammers. I have been trying for 2 months to cancel my subsription. They told me they cant find me in the system. I need and order code which I don’t have. The say their system has been down and accounts from January to March which coincidentally was when I ordered have been transferred to a new database. When I threatened to sue, they promised they would take care of it by using my phone number to find me. My bank can’t help because the charge is different every month. The first month the pills worked great. They have gotten weaker and weaker every month. Wish I had found this site before I ordered.
It’s really disgusting how many scam sites are popping up lately. I almost fell for it but did my research and learned about all these sites. Especially when I noticed that one of the Acai weight loss “blogs” featured a “business stock photo” model’s head photoshopped onto a heavier body. You might have seen it, she has chin length, blonde wavy/lose curly hair and black glasses. As someone mentioned before, it’s the same blog with different pictures.
These “trial offers” range from weight loss to teeth whitening, cellulite reduction to eBay…just everything. I remember a time where you could turn to a blog for an honest opinion. Now you have to beware of so many of them too. Honestly with this garbage, the ones that are just mainly adsense advertising portals are welcome. At least they aren’t charging your credit cards back to back.
Also, I agree with the poster recommending Monavie. My mother’s has a friend who’s a distributor and we drink it. Awesome quality product.
I would suggest you DO NOT order through any website that advertises FREE Trial offer. Some of these companies have several different websites all linked to same offer. My trial bottle shipped from a company called A.S.N. LLC out of Torrance, CA 90502. Received bottle of free trial on the 14th day, which was the last day of the time period to cancel future shipments. On that same day, was charged a fee of $79.96 to the same card I used for payment of free trial. Called them to say I want to cancel everything ( 2 other hidden charges for other monthly subscriptions that I was not aware of until went further into website and found the “fine print”)… I would keep second bottle they already charged me for and said they had shipped. They said they cancelled everything, however, I went and cancelled my credit card in event they kept charging me. Well, never received the second bottle that they charged me $79.96 for and never got any response after filing BBB complaint….moral of story… shame on me for not reading fine print and more so, shame on these companies that get away with these scams!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!
Yeah the free trial will keep charging you $87 every month. You be better off buying it for $19.99
I am very interested in trying this product. Please let me know more
If I get a free trial can I cancel and owe anything?
Please respond.
Jacqueline I.
You can get Acai 3,000 Mg 120 softgel for $19.99 and Free Shipping on ebay. Search on ebay for Acai 3,000 mg or here an item#260432114253. Why go through the headachs of free trials when you get it at that price.
Really wished I had seen these complaints first. They refuse to take charges off. THEY ARE A SCAM!! Nothing is free or just pay shipping and handling. They put the 14 day trial in the fine print. It is not anywhere else on their website. My company was Ultra Green … Stay away and spead the word!!! How can we let more people know? I want to put these people out of business. Tell everyone!!!
All of us have been scammed!!! How do we stop these people, and how do we get our money back?
Don’t waste your time. Thought I was only paying for the S&H. Checked my bank and a $79.00 charge was pending on my account. I called the customer service and was told that my card won’t be charged but to just go ahead and try the product for 30 days. If I liked it, then I will be charged. They cancelled the order a few days after but this is how they operate. Lure you in and then make you go through all this hassel for nothing.
i was scammed as well. the trial was 5.95 but then what i didnt see is that they charge you 79.95. i was charged 160 before i could cancel and i received nothing.
I was one of those that got scammed, and I was on the pphone and they tell me that they can’t help me. I ordered the free trial and it did not come in and all of a sudden I was charged 92.50 on my credit card. Is there anything I can do? How can this be stopped?
my friend where going to order, but have decided to stick with the old fashion way. hell no lol
Forget these free offers. Was offered free 30 day (except for shipping). Try to cancel these offers. Cancelled a number of times and they keep sending acai berries and charging my cc. Please, if anything, do not accept such offers. Am in contact with Attorney General’s office and my cc company. Certainly don’t need this aggrevation. Be smart and stay away from these offers. Mine are now from two locations, Wy. and Nv.

To Whom It May Concern:
I mailed back the Acia- Berry pills the week after I received them. Now I being billed for some VIT_LIVE LEAN from your company that I did not order or authorize. I have contacted the BBB of NC and my bank to have this charge stopped every month from account.
Thank You
Cynthia Evans
IF any one is interested a law firm in Florida is starting a class action lawsuit.
I feel like such a fool. Today I saw my bank account was overdrawn. To my surprise this horrible Acai berry company had charged me $87 that I was not expecting and had no idea they could do that. Luckily I used PayPal secure card. They cannot continue to charge but did get that one in. Now that bank charged me $28 overdraft. A lesson hard learned. NOTHING is FREE
Wish I had found the comment page first. You read the descriptions at the top of their comment page and they describe themselves to a tee. Where does it say that it is a 15 day trial? I haven’t found that info. and of course like others got charged cause I didn’t cancel soon enough on the free trial. I was rather upset since the acai berry pills did cause me to have heart attack symptoms. No small event.
IF YOUR GOING TO DO FREE OFFER DON’T USE YOUR “CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT” USE A VIRUAL PAYAPL OR GIFT CARD SO THEY CANT CHARGE YOU ANYMORE. ONLY PAY FOR SHIPPING!
i saw one of those side advertisements on my computer with before and after pictures of a lady who lost weight that said try it out for free. I got an acai berry detox bottle for free(so i thought), and i got it a week later and a week after that i was charged $87.00 and i called to cancel and say i wanted a refund assuming they had charged me for next months set of pills and were sending me more. The lady on customer support said i had 15 days to cancel my trial period and since i didn’t i was charged $87 for that bottle. Not only do i not get more pills like most companies would do, butShe wouldn’t give me a refund and now i have this one bottle of pills that i had to pay nearly $90 for! i am never going to try a “free” offer again.
I do the trial offer but I use paypal plugin virual card that can be closed out after using. They cant charge you after its closed. Then I turn around and sell what they send me on ebay and make some nice money.
Hi was just about to place my order…Then read the small, off the screen print. Ahhhh. I kept reading it about charging me the full price.
Ridiculous, I’m so glad I wasn’t in a hurry to order and took a little while to think about it…
I had read John and Kate. And Kate had talked about the products.
I did put a comment on hers, about the charge, I don’t know if they
allowed it to go through or not….
thanks Terrie
I also was went for the scam. By not reading the hidden fine print, my account balance went into the red. The 14 day trail starts the day you place the order, so if you get your product a week later and have only been taking it a week, you really don’t know if the stuff works. I have learned a very valuable lesson. PLEASE don’t fall into these scams. With today’s economy, who can afford hundreds of dollars to throw out the window. I have been taking the product for a little over a week and so far it DOES NOT WORK!!!
I ordered the free trial of AcaiAdvanced…what a dang rip off!!!!!! I called and tried canceling immediately but still got charged 4 times. I only received one bottle for a whopping total of over $100.00 when all was said and done. I had to cancel my debit card to avoid anymore charges. I never fall for this stuff but of course I was naive and fell into the “saw it on Oprah” messages all over the internet and thought it may be legit. DO NOT ORDER THIS JUNK OR IT WILL COST YOU A FORTUNE FOR NOTHING! It does not even work!!!
NEVER, EVER , EVER, ORDER A FREE TRIAL OFFER OF ACIA BERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS A TERRIBLE SCAM!!!! I GOT MY FREE TRIAL FROM SOME SCAMMING COMPANY CALLED SVM. AFTER PAYING LITTLE FOR MY FREE TRIAL, FOURTEEN DAYS LATER I WAS CHARGED $87.13 FOR A MONTH’S SUPPLY THAT I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE! WHEN I DISCOVERED THE CHARGE BY CALLING MY BANK, THE F****** COMPANY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT THE $87.13 CHARGE, BUT WOULD CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION. WHEN I ASKED WHY THAT INFORMATION WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE FREE TRIAL SAMPLE, I WAS TOLD IT WAS IN THE ONLINE AGREEMENT. WHO IN THE H*** REMEMBERS EVERYTHING FROM AN ONLINE AGREEMENT?!
NEVER, EVER, ORDER ANY FREE SAMPLE OF ACIA BERRY OR COLON MAX, FOR THAT MATTER. BOTH OF THESE “WONDERFUL DIET” OFFERS ARE TOTAL SCAMS!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU TRY TO TALK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, IT WILL BE SOMEONE IN INDIA THAT YOU CAN BARELY UNDERSTAND!!!!!
DO NOT ORDER ACIA BERRY OR COLON MAX, EVER!!!!!!
Sharon Davis
I’m actually glad I came here before making that free trial order…
I put my cell phone number in… and I didn’t even submit anything and within seconds I started to get text messages to my phone. Luckily I know how to spam back to stop those types of messages.
It seemed suspicious too… too good to be true… if you know what I mean.
So even though you canceled and then receieved it do you still have to send it back?
Funny funny. I just decided to check out that site where I earlier ordered the Acaix3&Colon Cleanser thing that I canceled but HA! The site no longer exists. That’s how they work man. It’s only up for so long until the page disappears so they can’t be found. SO glad I canceled.
I ordered the AcaiPure Free trial and had no problems. Yes, they did try to add a product to my order but just make sure you read everything and uncheck what you don’t want. They check everything for you. You have to uncheck what you don’t want. Then when the product came in I saved the order receipt that came with the product and called the number on their receipt to cancel and had no problems. They gave me a cancel # and a name. I called back a couple of days later to confirm it had been canceled and yes it had with no problems. I do like the Acai pure but found it cheaper else where. Good luck everyone. Just remember to read everything and you’ll be fine. Sorry for those who did have problems.
I ordered the “free” trial, got it, didn’t like it. Called Acai Advanced and sent it back. I thought I was DONE with it. Well, you are entered into a VIT*Live Lean AA contract that you have to cancel also. If you don’t they charge you “EVERY” month for nothing. I just called because they took another $24.95 off my debit card. The number to cancel is 1-888-272-6483. I talked to a snotty girl named MEGAN who said there was nothing she could do. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she told me none of them where there. I told her to PUT ONE ON THE PHONE, still nothing. All of this is non refundable so if you don’t want to get the monthly charge call and cancel this too not just the Acai Advanced junk. WHAT A SCAM. I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down yet.
Well I only skimmed through some of the comments, but I believe a lot of what is being said is misunderstood, or you just don’t know what you’re doing. I actually JUST ordered a free trail of the Acai Berry & received it yesterday. I was only charged $5.95 for shipping & handling, but if you don’t look into it you’re going to get charged extra after receiving it. I have been trying to lose weight for awhile now and I’ve been seeing constant advertisements for the Acai Berry so I decided to give it a try. Once I received it in the mail yesterday, i called the customer service number 1-866-949-0138, and I simply cancelled my account. no biggy.
I was dumb enough to actually buy an Acai Berry product made by FMW called Acaix3 and some Colon Cleanser and after reading everything up I was so scared that I wanted to cancel immediately. Thank goodness I just canceled and they actually didn’t make it hard for me. The Acai Berry people just let me punch in some #’s to get it canceled and I just spoke with some dude from the Colon Cleanser to cancel and he DID try and hassle me but I gave a pity story and said I’d just like to cancel and no problems! So far…. They better not secretly bill me =.=
Will this make me loose weight?
will this make me lose wait?
Thanks for the information. If I want to lose about 10lbs, how many of this product should I purchase?

Weight-loss Berry Claiming Oprah Endorsement Makes Wallets Slim and Consumers Angry Warns BBB
1/5/2009
Delicious StumbleUpon Acai-berry product peddlers lock customers in after “free” trial expires
Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to be wary of online ads relying on celebrity endorsements to sell acai-berry related weight loss products. BBB has received thousands of complaints from consumers nationwide who thought they were signing up for a free-trial offer of acai berry weight loss products that were supposedly endorsed by Oprah, Rachel Ray and other celebrities; in the end, the free trial cost them, month after month.
The acai berry has been featured on national TV shows and praised by doctors and celebrities for its high level of antioxidants. Marketing claims about the acai include that it fights cancer and aging and promotes dietary health and weight loss – and these claims are working, with sales of acai products approaching $15 million last year, up from $500,000 per year in previous years. Producers of acai berry supplements, juices and tea have been very successful peddling their goods in ads on the Internet and on social networking Web sites such as Facebook. In November alone, more than 1.5 million people searched for the term on Google. Online ads and Web sites often include a photo of a celebrity — such as Oprah — and claim that she endorses the acai as a weight loss miracle.
“BBB can’t speak to the restorative or weight loss properties of acai-based products, but we are taking companies to task for their misleading sales and marketing practices,” said Steve Cox, BBB spokesperson. “Many businesses across the country are using the same selling model for their acai products: they lure customers in with celebrity endorsements and free trial offers, and then lock them in by making it extremely difficult to cancel the automatic delivery of more acai products every month.”
Following are two companies that exemplify dozens of other businesses operating nationwide that sell acai-related items with a similar sales model:
FX Supplements
BBB serving Fort Worth recently received a large volume of complaints against FX Supplements.com, a Web site selling products such as Acai Berry Maxx and Maxx Slim Hoodia. The company offers a risk-free trial of their products for the cost of shipping and handling. However, if consumers do not cancel within the trial period they are sent additional bottles every month and are billed $85.90. Complaints show that the trial period fluctuates between 10 and 14 days from when the consumer requested the free trial—not from when they received the product.
Complainants stated they had difficulty canceling their subscription; some made numerous calls to the phone number listed, found the number out of service, continually busy or were sent to voicemail. Complainants also had a difficult time canceling their subscription via the e-mail provided. In some cases the e-mail address did not work or the complainant continued to be billed even after multiple e-mails. Several customers reported that they were forced to close down bank accounts and cancel credit cards to stop recurring charges.

In the last 12 months, the BBB serving Central, Northern and Western Arizona has received more than 1,400 complaints for a company called Central Coast Nutraceuticals which operates several Web sites selling acai, hoodia and male enhancement products. The company uses Oprah-endorsements of the acai berry in ads touting its weight-loss benefits and offers a free trial of acai-related products including supplements and tea. Due to the company’s negative option, if, after the free-trial, the consumer no longer wishes to receive a monthly supply they must cancel their subscription or they will be billed $40 monthly.
The complaints against the company all tell a similar tale of how difficult it was to contact the company and cancel the subscription — including enduring 75 minutes on hold. Additionally, consumers complain of unauthorized charges on their credit card or bank accounts for products they did not order. Central Cost Nutraceuticals has earned an F grade from BBB for a large volume of unanswered and unresolved complaints.
“These companies are simply abusing general acai berry endorsements from well-known, trusted celebrities by using it as a tacit endorsement of their company and products specifically,” added Cox. “Consumers trust Oprah and unfortunately, if they are tricked into believing that she is putting her stamp of approval on a product then they are definitely more likely to purchase it.”
Before purchasing acai products, BBB recommends checking out the seller first. BBB maintains a free online database with more than four million reports on businesses at http://www.bbb.org. Additionally, consumers shopping online should look for the BBB seal on Web sites and click on the seal to confirm its legitimacy. And of course, consumers can always contact BBB directly with questions and concerns.
I been doing my research on Acai Berry. This is what I found on WebMd.com. So for all us us looking for that megic pill, it does not exsist.
“Acai is a nutrient-rich source of antioxidants, much like many other fruits, but there is nothing magical about the fruit to cause weight loss,” says David Grotto, RD, author of 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life.
“There is not any single food, including the super-healthy acai berry, that can provide the solution to weight loss. To lose weight, you need to control calories with a healthy lifestyle approach that includes plenty of physical activity, nutritious foods, and adequate rest.”
No single “acai berry diet” exists. Instead, you’ll find advertisements for products such as “acai berry detox,” “acai burn,” “acai pure” and “acai berry edge,” promising quick weight loss. Some of the ads promise “450% more weight loss than dieting and exercise alone” and claim you can lose up to 20 pounds in one week.
According to some web sites selling acai products, acai’s fiber and essential fatty acid content contribute to its ability to “burn fat more efficiently, process food more quickly, cut down on cravings, and boost metabolism.” Detox acai products further promise to “cleanse” your system of fat and rid your body of “toxic buildup that is weighing you down.”
How can they make these claims? Unlike drugs, over-the-counter supplements and foods are not closely regulated, so some manufacturers can over-sell health benefits of their products.
I had just went upstairs to get my purse, so I could order my free trail of acai berry capsules. I couldn’t find the original site so i just type in Acai Berry and your site came up. Well Thank God. Because of you I will never order a free trail anything as long as i live. I am so grateful for this site, and my heart goes out to all of those people who were scamed out of their money.
I too ordered the free trial. I actually put my info into the website and when it asked for my CC info, I just clicked cancel. I then had them calling me over and over. I did end up getting the free trial. — trying to cancel the subscription is a PAIN in the butt!!! But ….. if you got your shipment from the FWM Laboratories in Hollywood FL then you should call 1-866-604-9247 — they will cancel this for you. The trick is to find the right number to call BEFORE the 14 day trail is over. I did get a conf. number for my cancellation and was only charged the S&H of $2.97 — So there is HOPE OUT THERE for those of you that are having trouble.
Thank you,
Michelle – North Carolina
Why do you all act like vitims? I get these emails constantly offering free this or that and you have to know that it’s not free. If it’s a pop up or banner on a website claiming to be free, then why do they need your credit card? Hmm? Do you honestly think you’re going to get a whole pack of pills for free? Read the fine print. Increase your spam filters on your email, stop clicking on pop-ups and bannner ads. And those free gift card and laptop “surveys” are the biggest scam..you’ll get stuck with trials to all kinds of companys. I work for a major credit card company and listen to people claiming fraud and that they didnt “authorize” these charges, but suprise, by putting your credit card number in you opt into their terms and conditions. So take a little responsibility and know that all that glitters is not gold.
is this site legit to order the acai berry..does anyone know
Do not order this Acai Berry stuff – it is outrageously expensive for some smelly pills that are not approved by the FDA. There are hidden costs and I was charged for something that was suppose to be a free trial for $5.95. DO NOT ORDER THIS JUNK. THE SITE THAT HANDLES THE PAYMENT DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH WELL AND WILL NOT HELP YOU!! You have been warned. I have to pay, so don’t give them any more money.
Do not EVER get the “Free Trial” of the Acai. This is obvious from reading this page. I do recommend you get the best quality Acai from Amazon Thunder and no I dont work for them.. Just google it. There is no “trial” and a 30 day supply costs $35 to $40.. They have the juice, capsules and the powder and it top quality. Just google it. You may find a slightly better deal on the same products on ebay (I saved about $5)
You guys had it easy. I was scammed for over 400 bucks! I sure hope the credit card company (visa) upholds my dispute. If not they are worthless. How about a class action lawsuit? I saw the ad on foxnews.com and figured it must be ok. HA HA LOL cry.
I was scammed in March after taking advantage of the “free trial offer of $4.95.”
My credit card has been charged $78.81, $83.80., $9.95 membership fee, and two $1.00 charges for “transaction fee”.
It is an outrage.
I have cancelled that card, and put the charges into dispute, but return of my funds seems unlikely at this time!
I recommend when trying these “free trial offers” that you go to the store and purchase a visa gift card which can be used the same as a credit card online, then you never have to give them your personal account info unless you want to continue to use the product after you try it.
did any of you people order from this site? what is your verdict? i’m not talking about scams, i’m talking about results and satisfactory.

I was scammed also by a free trial and now am receiving bottles on automatic when I didn’t sign up for it and every time I try to call to cancel they are in Arizona and on a different time zone. I actually reached someone who started yelling at me and just laughed when I said I wanted to return it because that’s not what I signed up for. If all of these people have been scammed why haven’t we gotten together to file a class action lawsuit or send reports to the Better Business Bureau to at least attempt to get our money back.
I tried the free offer just pay shipping. I ordered 3 different kinds of acai berry but it took me along time and alot of money to learn, I used a prepaid visa debit card and shortly after i got my free stuff I got an e-mail that said they tried to charge my card for the full price but no money left on card. So if you want free offer use prepaid and only the amount your are going to spend. I learned, they said they were going to send to collections but I have not recieved any other bottles other than what they said was only shipping.
I’m not going to lie. I was trying to look up a way to purchase AcaiBerry so I googled it. All that came up was different sites for free trials. I looked at one of them and was about to say you know what let me just try it. I typed in my CC number and decided I didn’t want a free trial of 14 days I wanted a whole 30 – day Bottle. So I X-ed out the website and googled that instead. THANK GOD I DID! One of the first sites that popped up was this website reporting all the Free Trial Scams with the official Acai Berry site. I was almost a goner. Sorry to everyone else who got scammed though.
-Stephanie
fucken asshole’s i’m so irritated right now. wtf??? what a rape.. i had purchase the product over a month ago send me 3 months of supplements and billed me 3 times 89.56!! i hate to close my account because the idiots didn’t have a customer servise number.. fucken cunts pieces of shits
What a rip off and if thats not enough just try to cancel and get your money back. Talking about a circus show. They are good at it, but all is not lost. Call your bank, cancel your card and get a new one. You must return un-opened with cancellation number on the return label and the list goes on. I now have my cancellation numbers, no more orders! Look on your statement and the # is there to call or call your cc and they can give you the numbers. Mine came through FWM Labortories 3007 Greene Strip, Hollywood, Florida 33020. I work at a law firm and we are considering a PI lawsuit. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!
For everyone who has been scammed by Advance Wellness Research, please contact the West Palm Beach Florida Better Business Bureau info@wpbb.com and register a complaint with them. I have done so and the current status is that they have formally processed the complaint and sent it to Advanced Wellness Research. It may take 30 business days to get a response back from them to the BBB but I am waiting to see what if anything happens.
hi ive been scammed as well. I want my monthly supply to stop as I cannot afford $97 per month but i cannot contact them. please help me someone
Well I was also caught. I don’t even buy lottery tickets. I used my debit/check card to get the trial for $5.95 then waited patiently for the trial packet to arrive. A few weeks later I received an email stating that the order was shipped. Then eight days later a second email stating that since I had not indicated to them that I wanted to return the unused amount with the request to cancel, my account was being billed $79.95. I emailed them stating that I had not yet received the item and not to bill my card since I was not going to continue. I should have cancelled my card then. My card was billed $79.95 three days later, and the product arrived in another three days. Now my 15 day trial begins, right? wrong! No phone to reach them and no reply to my email. My card is now cancelled and by bank will block any charges that may come in. Lesson learned
Does anyone have the address where I can return the bottle of Acia berry to Advance Wellness Research? I too was scammed with their free trial plus $4.99 shipping and now they have charged me $78. I have cancelled my card and got a confirmation number from them but I can’t get an RMA number or address to return it.
Hi- I want the Acai berry pills but their website doesn’t work anymore advacnewellnessresearch.com Here is my visa card# 438854011342114 can someone please order it for me.
I cannot believe I was scammed also. I’ve just read all these comments and am I mad. I have paid out over $190.00 for a buy one get one free offer. I am waiting for a reply from this company. I DID NOT read anything about these charges and being on an automatic delivery program!
I have called I diod May iever time please take our list..
I got hosed also… Management and sales terms of these companies are set up to scam America. Sadly, the administration needs us to spend money and they are giving away our future to protect the owners of similar companies, aka the banks and CC companies. I have two ways of dealing with this… the best way is to cancel or charge the CC. Hopefully that really does the trick. I’m posting this web site on my Facebook page where I originally found the offer.
I got charged $40.oo after getting the “free sample” and looked it up online to see that it’s common for them to scam people! This is a crock. I called them and told them to cancel everything and the operator told me it’s on the website and I explained that if so many people weren’t seeing it then they should make things bigger and in plain sight. I told the operator I was giving them the 2-3 days to refund my money or I’m calling the Better Busniess Bureau to complain on them. The operator got hateful and hung up on me! So now I’m calling the BBB. Tell everyone you know not to order Acai Berry!
I got scammed and had over $300.00 in charges build up before I changed my account number. It is a HUGE Headache. I haven’t had any issues since I changed my acct. number.
Can’t believe they got me.
I am Nigerian and so should have known better
Well I have contacted them by email and suprisingly got a prompt reply
I advised them that I was Nigerian and scamming me was a BIG BIG mistake AND i am going to make sure that the next debit to my account wipes out their account clean
They’d better take heed if they know whats good for them
I am interested about Acaiproducts . Before bulk order / business proposal,I want some free samples with Brosure / leaflets / books etc.
I ordered the product. Received the 60 capsules and decided to do a little research on this product. This was a free trial Paid 4.99 plus I was charged a.15 cent international fee. I used my debit card which actually was smart because I saw the charge come out and when I received the capsules saw all this stuff about them scamming people. Ok first thing I did was call my bank and order a new debit card with a new number so they can no longer use the debit card number and then called them the 1 800 503 Well and cancelled. I got a cancellation #. My bank told me that since I cancelled my debit card they could not use that number again if they tried and if I saw any other charges to call them and the fraud department would fight it. So I hope I am in the clear and not lose all that money like others did. The probelm with using a credit card is that you don’t see the additional charges till it is too late!!! What a nightmare for everyone. My lesson learned it do not order FREE Trial nothing in this life is free. Can’t believe I fell for this stuff I should know better.
send me free info on acai berry please. thanks-josh
Stupid is as stupid does. I was stupid, something my wife gleefully pointed out when she learned I’d signed up for a “free” trial subscription service from a firm whose phone number is 1-866-964-1011. I then consulted the present Web site, actually read the suppliers fine print terms and conditions and the same day began a series of email exchanges with sales@advanced wellness. I repeatedly asked to have the order cancelled. Each email response was prompt, very polite, somewhat formulaic and attributed to a different person. Successive responses to my cancelation request produced increasing discount offers for the product. It took five days for the shipping charge of $4.99 to appear on my credit card. Plus an additional 15-cent charge for an international transaction (the billing agent is off-shore). The last email from the company stated the order had been canceled and that I was welcome to keep the product. I will return it anyway. I cancelled the credit card used with this vendor and bought Acia capsules from Walgreens.
Lessons learned yet again: (1) nothing of value is free, (2) your Dad was right–read the small print and (3) be persistent.
WELL I FELL FOR THIS SCAM BY ORDERING THE FREE TRAIL OFFER, THEY WANTED $5.95 FOR SHIPPING AND I GAVE IT TO THEM, AFTER A WEEK I CALLED AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AND A VERY LONG WAITING TIME TO GET A RA# WHICH I FINALLY GOT. WHEN I SHIPPED IT BACK 10 DAYS LATER, IT WAS CONFIRMED THEY RECEIVED IT. THEN ON A FRIDAY I SEE A $25 CHARGE ON MY DEBIT CARD, OF COURSE THE TRANACTION WAS CODED, AND I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT IS WAS, SO THEN I CALLED THE BANK AND THEY SAID IT WAS TAKEN OUT BY “ACAI” TRYING TO CALL THEM WAS A JOKE AS I’D CALLED 3 TIMES AND WAITED 30/MIN EACH TIME WITH A RECORDING SAYING, A AGENT WILL SOON BE WITH YOU? HA! IT COST ME $25 AND IV’E LEARNED MY LESSON AS I WILL NEVER ORDER ON LINE AGAIN….BILL SHUGART, HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS
I never order “free trial” I did call company ask for free without shipping cost, they say cant do that. So I did not order that “free trial” product.
HERE TIP TO PROTECT YOU FROM BE SCAM.
–ALWAYS STUDY THAT COMPANY BEFORE YOU BUY.
–LOOK AT THAT COMPANY SEE IF HAVE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB) ON IT.
–IN “FREE TRIAL” WILL ASK YOUR CREDIT CARD, DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD#
–HEAR FROM YOUR FRIEND “MOUTH TO MOUTH” IS MOST POWER THAN AD.
–ALWAYS ALWAYS STUDY ON THAT PRODUCT IT WILL SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!
THINK SMART!!
I too fell victim to this fraud. I called and cancelled the order within 2 days from placing the order for the free trial. I found out that that did not stop me from being a member in something called the Fitness Factory which is a monthly newsletter about fitness and dieting. I noticed the charge of $29.95 on my card and disputed it with my credit card company. I noticed another charge from the same people a month later and disputed it as well. I have finally got someone to answer the phone to cancel the supposed membership and give me a confirmation number. Do not fall for this scam!!!!!
I was in the same situation and i was charged $79.44 on March 12 and on March 20th was charged $83.80 from Advance Wellness Research who offer Acai Berry for a $5.00 free trial offer. They told me they could not refund my card because i did not call within the 14 days that is stated in the terms and conditions which are always on the bottom of the page in black, i talked to a Molly Reichel and Adeddy Fosjer did not help at all. I got my refund for the $83.80 and i’m still hounding them for the $79.44.
ADVANCE WELLNESS RESEARCH IS A SCAM, their email is advacnewellnessresearch.com we should all hound them with emails. Their address is
ADVANCE WELLNESS RESEARCH
1269 NORTH WOOD DALE ROAD
WOODALE, IL 60191!!!!
I just wanted suggest to get a virtual account number for the CC you gonna use online for any purchase. I know you can do it CITI bank, I am not sure about other CC companies. But its really helpfull. The virtual account number you can you only once, and its only for one month. And its acctually will be charged on your CC card, but no one could reuse it again.
Ok, got the date format changed to the US standard…
For you bright individuals that have a problem with this sites dates HAVE NONE OF YOU EVER BEEN IN OR KNOWN SOMEONE IN THE MILITARY??????? I write all my dates as such get real stop being so childish because someone ELSE ripped you off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you people had mistaken of “how can people be posting comments on dates that haven’t even happened yet”
Because in some country the date are writeen as DD/MM/YY so that means if today is March 14, 2009, it would be written as 14/3/09 rather than 3/14/09. There are lots of country who wrote date in that way..
i seriously need my money put back in my checking now. i will be notifing the better bisiness bureau, and whoever else i need to to get my money back, and cancel me out of the program yesterday. i feel like i am being held hostage by this company, and this must CEASE
I have been taken. First by another wellness site and now with this Acai Berry. On my last credit card I have two charges, one for 79.95 and another for 83.80. I have had to cancel my credit card and they will dispute this for me. Why isn’t something being done to companies like this. They should go to jail like Madoff…
hahaha
you call them a scam & yet people are posting comments with dates of he future…. tff & to think I was gonna order with you!
see ya!
Everything said above has happened to me also even after i canceled and
received e-mail conformation that i did, however my bank account was
charged anyway-my bank advised me to contact the person from acci berry
who had sent the cancellation–twice i tried, but both times they refused
my e-mail-then i tried by phone and got the same run-around again-now i
will have to change my bank card and turn the matter over to my bank fraud
division-
Today I did receive $79.96 from Acai now I’m just waiting to see if I’ll get the $69.95 back from Bromalite. If I do not receive it then I’ll just keep right on harassing them until I get at least some of my money back. Then I’ll only be lost about $15.19. I’ll chalk that up to experience. Not to ever give out my banking information ever again. They just met the biggest fool of their entire career when they met me. I bet I’ll get part if not all of my money back and keep their worthless product in the return. If anybody want these two bottles they can have them free of charge and I do mean free. No Hidden Charges will apply:)
I also got stupid and ordered the stuff. they dont even let you decide if you like the stuff before they ruin it for us and all the legitimate companys out there. I cancelled and hopefully will be getting my money back but to make sure i cancelled my dept card and sent the bank after these basters. I WOULD SUGEST TO ANY ONE WHO WANTS TO ORDER THIS STUFF TO GET A PRE-PAID VISA ORDER THE STUFF AND THEN TAKE THE REST OF THE MONEY OUT SO THEY WILL ONLY GET THE MONEY FOR THE SHIPPING. IF THEY ARE NOT LEGITAMATE THEN THEY WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVE A BIG FAT NOTHING.
how can people be posting comments on dates that haven’t even happened yet – 7/03/09, 10/01/09 etc…..scam!
so is there anyway to cancel it??
because ive gotten two bottles of this crap.
since the free trial.
help me pleeeeeease?
I have been scammed. My free sample is costing me 95.00!!!!!!! I’m so upset, I’m calling the Better Business Bureau. My credit card better refunded somehow and soon. How do you contact you people to cancel this stuff. It doesn’t work either. Amber Hemming 519 Paige St Carrollton Oh 44615
well as i read all these comments i have to agree with only a couple…. i have ordered a couple different trials for these and a product called total cleanse and never had a problem. yeah you wait forever to cancel but if you call in time like a couple days BEFORE the end of the trial u wont be charged. my advice is pay attention to the days after you get them. they work soooo good i’ve lost 40 pounds in 4 months taking only 2 bottles of acai and the one 14 day trial of total cleanse. i was able to go off by diabetes meds cause my significant weight loss. It helps so much.
I GOT SCAMMED TOO. THEY PROMISED TO SEND ME MY REFUND OF ABOUT $158 TO MY ACCOUNT. I GOT CONFIRMATION #s AND CANCVELLATION #s BUT I’M JUST WAITING TO C IF I EVER GET ANYTHING BACK. THEY GOT ME THIS TIME AND THEY MAYBE LAUGHING ALL THE WAY 2 THE BANK BUT YOU BEST BELIEVE ME THEY WON’T GET AWAY WITH SCAMMING ME. I’LL FIGHT THIS THING ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPREME COURT IF I HAVE 2 AND I KNOW SOMEONE THAT WILL HELP ME 2!!!! THEY OUGHT 2 BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES AND HOW WE ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING IN THIS ECONOMY. I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT AT THE BANK BUT NOT BEFORE THEY GOT MY MONEY OUT AND SENT MY ACCCOUNT INTO OVERDRAFT WITH ME HAVING TO PAY THE FEES. GOD’S GOT A PLAN FOR THEM AND IT’S CALLED JREY!!!!!!!
I think we all need to call the better business bureau. I did get them to credit my card for 78.81, only after being on hold for an hour, Saying I had to call back in 2 hours because there system was down. Being on hold again…and doing a lot of screeming to an india person who I could not understand. but now I am afraid that they will charge me again after reading all of these. Looks like I wasn’t the only one who got scammed…DONT ORDER ANY OF IT…
I too sadly fell for this scam however just by luck I had recently received a visa gift card and used that to pay for it. Shortly after ordering I came across this site and as soon as i received my order I called and canceled. The representative was seemingly friendly, she allowed me to cancel my automatic shipment, gave me a confirmation number and instructed me to give the product a try and simply return the unused portion to them before the end of the trial and to make sure I keep my tracking number. I’m a little leary so i think I’ll just be returning both bottles unopened. Hopefully this is over now…I’ve learned my lesson about not reading terms and conditions!
I too, thought because Rachel Ray and Oprah backed it up that it was ok.
when I saw they wanted my credit card for s/h I thought twice about it.
So……… I DID NOT DO IT.Reading all the comments, I am very glad I used my inner voice.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! This makes me so mad….I saw an advertisement on aol and a girl spouting the good deeds of the combination of Acai Berry and Bromalite and it offerred a gree trial where you just paid shipping. I thought well it may be worth a try since a real person was telling of it and Opra and Rachel Ray backed it. The next day I got a phone call saying that I used a mastercard and they could only accept Visa and they needed another credit card num, ber. That freaked me thinking it must be a scam so I said just cancel it all then….well today I get the Bromalite in the mail…and tomorrow would be the last day to cancel anyhow so I called them. They extended the 14 day trial so I will try it and see what it does. I found the Acai Berry stuff at the local Wal-mart and bought some realtively cheap but so far nothing has happeneded except stomach ache. I tried calliing the Acai Berry place and they are in INDIA and no one I could understand could understand me….so after 4 0pone calls and wasted cell phone minutes I jung up. I tried to find the adversisement on here again but no luck. When no one could be understood I awsked for an American and the lady told me — sorry we haveno americans here — we are in India. I was so mad that I toldher thanks for stealing Americans jobs that we need so badly ourselves….I will make sure where any company is located next time before I buy from them “anything”
Wow, what a pain, beware this acai berry scam. I happenned to watch the local news and there was an alert on the so called FMW labratories company. There’s no company, its a condo in Florida. Big scam, charged me 90 dollars twice for two different products on 3/2. Big mess, will have to cancel card, take it as a lesson learned. Thanks for the info, after I get this mess fixed, I will look to acaiberrysite.com for future business.
I was scammed! the only way to get out of it for me was to cancel my credit card. when we called to cancel the credit card, the lady told us she want to guess why we were canceling and so we said sure. she said, its because of the Acai scam, right and we were like, how did you know?? and she said she has people calling her everyday canceling their credit cards because of the Acai scam!!!!
Please do not order any free trials. It is a scam and once they get your credit card they will continue to charge your account 100’s of dollars. I had to cancel my credit card. Please do not get any of these free trials. You are being SCAMMED!
SUCH A SCAM!!!!! i also ordered the acai berry 14 day trial diet pills from advanced wellness website on 2/23/09 and recieved them today 3/3/09 i called today to cancel but the number they have on the websight doesnt work it just either has a busy tone or a recording which says the # is not avab. then i found another # which some dude from india answered then told me 2 call back in 1-2 hours after there system updates! i am going to my bank asap and cancelling my debit & checking account seems like the only way to be sure they wont get my money!!! has anyone had any problems with this stupiddddd scam after they have cancelled a card?
After reading these comments, I guess I am a candidate of this scam also. I can’t beleieve I fell for this. It is from Advanced Wellness Research. I ordered my free trial on 2/20 so I guess I am still within my 14 days trial period but I thought the label on the bottle was not ligit. I tried calling the 866-964-1011 # , says all circits are busy. Not a good sign. I guess my only rescue is to change my credit card #.
I have gotten the same run around from the company ACAI BERRY MAXX. I cancelled in January. I still got another shipment and was charged $87 to my cc account. I called again and “cancelled” it and they credited my cc part of the $ but would not return all of it. Again!!! I got another shipment and charge on my cc!!!! Yesterday I spoke with a salesperson and was told he could not access my info because they were “updating” systems. He was supposed to call me back and of course did not. I just got off of the phone with 2 different people, one was “Calvin” and was told I would be credited for all of it and discontinued. I informed them that I was online and looking at all of these comments about scams. I told him that if I ever get another shipment and if I ever get billed for anything from them again that I would call my attorney and press charges. I also said that the rest of you would probably be happy to join in a civil suit for all of these scam companies! I am anxious to see if I ever hear from them again.
I am 17 years old and over weight. just looking for the next best thing to try and lose some weight. my grandma gratiousley let me use her debit card to get the free trial and thedn today she calls me and tells me they just charged her 80 $ for another botttle. i haev been on here all day and i haev called a million numbers and there is noone to talk to… any advice for canceling this or getting the banck to give her her money back…? please email me
i just ordered the one bottle of acai supplement for $37. just wondering how long will it be to recieve it?
I’m glad I found this website fefore I, too, got scammed. I would like to try the supplement but don’t want to order it online. I’m not to trusting anymore, after reading everyone else’s comments. GNC also carries an acai berry supplement.
I, too, ordered a ‘Free’ trial of the acai berry weight loss. What happened to me was slightly different. I DID get the ‘Free’ trial, however, accompanying this trial came a bottle of Mega Tea pills, which I did not order and was charged $34.95 for. I was no pleased but decided to try it anyway. The products did work and I did use them so, of course, I was not going to ask for my money back. I did, however, contact the company and ask why it was sent. They told me it was just the way it works. I went back and looked again and the order form says nothing about a Mega Tea pill. In any case, I cannot find the same site, now. I’m sure you can guess why! BUT, the Acai berry weight loss does work! In about 3 weeks, I had lost 7 lbs. It’s not a lot, but rapid weight loss is not good for the body and I was pleased. I am ordering another supply, today, from this site.
I guess I was sort of lucky as the day that I ordered a free trial, I found a bunch of sites regarding these scams. I immediately called my CC company and had them cancel the card and reissue a new one. I did get my trial bottle, since that minimal charge did go through.
So, are any of these products even worthwhile? Or are they total crap?
I forgot to add to my last post that the number that the company provided my bank when they charged me – was INVALID. How can I dispute anything when the numbers that I had were wrong and what they provided were not working numbers? THEN I get the notice in the mail from my bank that I’m responsible and lo and behold they’ve found a number that was valid. NOW I can call…. IDIOTS. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. From now on – I’ll only be purchasing anything I buy IN PERSON!!!!!
How I wish I’d known about this site when I had my BRILLIANT idea to order their free trial. It’s been nothing but a headache many times over. I called and went off on their customer service guy (who hardly spoke English) and he agreed to refund me $70.00. BUT they still got $8.81 from me for what? He couldn’t even explain to my satisfaction why they are keeping that $8.81. I left it alone b/c I am getting the majority credited back to the account. IF ONLY I had known. There goes my idea that it’s Santa leaving the presents.
My husband is livid b/c now we have an overdraft fee b/c of these people. I used an account that we have that is hardly ever used and only had a little in it. I thought that if it were a scam (gee, why didn’t I run with that) that I could just close that account. Well, I closed the account and my bank informed me that I was responsible for that charge so now I’m out the $8.81 AND the overdraft fee. *SIGH* GET A REAL JOB PEOPLE AND QUIT SCAMMING OTHERS OUT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY!
I really wish I would have seen this site before I ordered from the scam site. I have my husband research everything now. He found me this site.
I ordered from Advance Wellness also. They told me when I called to cancel that I would have to wait 24-48 hours so it’s in the system since I just ordered today (and then found this site) So my credit card company said that the charges look funny that say online – convenance store. When I ordered online it said I would be charged 8.99 and it’s showing up on my statement 11 something. So thank god I cancelled my card tonight or who knows what else they would have added
People who cancelled their card haven’t had any other problems? did you still get your free trial?
I just talked to my credit card company and they are cancelling my card. There’s a few that showed up for online but said convenince store beside it.
So…be careful!
Canceled my card as soon as i got my trial bottle. Please check WebMd web site before even thinking of this product. Not only is it a scam on almost every site, WEBMD only says it has the same properties as most berries..blueberries etc. Some sites may be ok . The one I got mine from An Advanced Wellness Research. Thankfully I got my card canceled before any other charges were made again.
Thanks
Tena
Just wanted you all to know that I have spent endless time on hold with Advance Wellness Research, they are out of Nampa, ID 866-964-1011. After cancelling my original order and sending back the inferior product (certified mail, no less) I was charged 87.02 6 days after I sent it back. I called their customer service (and Carla is right, they are barely understandably and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that he/she was in a meeting, all 4 times I have called) and was given the runaround until I finally told the rep to shut up and let me talk, the rep finally agreed refund 78.81 of the 87.02, I know I should be happy that I got something back from them but now it is the principal. I am filing a dispute with my bank and they will deal with them from here on out…..once again, the company I dealt with is *Advanced Wellness Research*
HELLO, PEOPLE I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ONE OF THESE COMPANIES, I ASKED TO CANCELL ALL TIES WITH THEM. I WAS TREATED FAIRLY I WAS GIVEN CONFIRMATIONS OF ALL CANCELLED PRODUCTS FOR FUTURE FEE’S I ADVISE YOU’LL TO CALL AND CANCELL EVERYTHING BEFORE THE TRIAL PERIOD IS UP AND WILL BE CHARGED OTHER FEES DO THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HI I WAS ANOTHER VICTOM OF THIS SCAM! I’VE NOT RECEIVED MY STUFF YET BUT WHEN I FOUND THIS SITE I RUSHED TO MY BANK AND CLOSED MY DEBIT ACCOUNT AND RE-OPENED IT. HERE ARE THE SITE’S NUMBERS OF WHO I ORDERED MY STUFF FROM HOPE IT CAN HELP SOMEONE…. http://www.natures acai.com phone # 1-800-983-7968. ALSO FROM SITE THAT I GOT PILLS FROM WAS CRH PHARMACOLOGY @ 1-866) 215-7817. I HOPE THIS CAN TEACH US ALL TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO FINE PRINT BEFORE WE GET ALL EXCITED AND ORDER ANY FUTURE PRODUCTS. FOOD LUCK TO ALL
I had put in for the free so called trial before i had found this site and so many have talked about getting over charged for there pills so what i did is called my bank and put in for a lost card so that put a stop to any other monies coming out of my account granted the $1.95 and the $3.95 will still be taken out of my acount but they will not be able to charge my account any other amounts because that card NO# will no longer be active so if they do send me the pills i will still get them as a free trial and can’t be charged for any more money or i will lose the money but i would rather lose that little amount then haundreds. i did explain the issue with my bank and they said that if any other charges where to show up that they will put in and help with fraudulant charges.
Thank You
marsha
I fell for this too. I cancelled as soon as I got my bottle today. But it sure wasn’t free. I’m being charged $38.10. Interestingly, they send the bottle with no contract information. Just an invoice with a toll free number of 866-964-1011. My advice CALL IMMEDIATELY AND CANCEL and go to GNC and buy it.
Thank you all for your very informative comments as I too was just about ready to order. Sorry for all who got caught caught up in this scam. I don’t know how these companies get away with this crap. Previously had problems with SmoothAway and Celebrity Smile tooth whitening. At least I was able to cancel without much aggravation. Good Luck to all. So, is there a legimate site?? I would like to try but now am very leary
I just ordered my free trial last week how can I go about cancelling it I’ve not received it yet!. Help this fooooooooool that fell in the scam!
so now today i got a bottle in the mail of pure acia berry after i have allready got my free trail and have canceled everything and got a cancellation number when i got my free trail in the mail it says is acia nomi with green tea and such and the bottle i got today says pure acia berry and the pills are a berry looking redish i call my cc to cheak if there was anyother chrages made on it but noting yet dos anyone know about this?is the new bottle i got today the real deal?
Ladies, I have not ordered the acai berry product on the free trial pages because I made SURE I read the fine print, which on alot of those sites tells you you will be charged around $90 a month, which is what made me back out of that crazy notion. Also, this idea may be good advice to many of you. GET A PREPAID VISA!!! That way if you want to find out if a particular company is a scam or not you win, not them! The company cannot possibly keep charging a prepaid card can they? You only put one certain amount on it, and that is all they can take. If they try charging more, there is no more to be had!! I, too, am glad I have found this site, however. It seems to be legitimate because you can get just a one month supply of the acai berry and if you need another bottle, they won’t charge you, you just have to come back to the site and order again.
I wished I found this website before I ordered. It’s really a scam had been trying to get hold to cancel my order and all I get is the voice mail saying box is full. I was charged 79.99 for one bottle supposed to be free trial for 14 days. The 14 days started when you placed the order.
A friend ordered the acai berry 30 day supply from Natures Best. She received her trial bottle and after I read this and told her about the scams she called the cancellation number. She was given a cancellation confirmation number. You need to make sure to call before the end of the 14-day trial period, which begins approx. 30 days after your trial order is shipped and you begin automatically receiving and being charged for a supply. This is all printed in the terms and conditions.
hello so i ordered that free trail befor i read all this so i have got my free trail and it is crap i called to cancel and i called like 8 times i could not really understand any of them i talked to so finily they say they have canceled everything and i will not have any more charges on my cc they gave a a cancel comfirmation number so i am really hoping this is over and they will not take anymore money i allso ased to speak to the manager and well everytime they say hes in a meeting…….eveing at night…so now that i found this site is it the real deal has anyone ordered this and if so how did it work for you plz let me know thank you everyone!!!
Hello everyone!!! Well I had already ordered my supply almost a week ago before I read this site. I picked up the phone, and canceled the order right away I am hoping that with the cancel comfirmation numbers this will work!!! I was shocked to have got right through on the phone it is 8:31 pm central time and was never put on hold they gave me the comfirmation numbers and told me that I was completely canceled. Has this happened to any one else, where you were given a confirmation number and was still billed????
HI there
I AM VERY SORRY FOR BEING SCAMMED
I HAVE A QUESTION I NEED TO BUT THE ACAIBERRY PRODUCT because i WANNA shred some POUNDS SO bad.
SO DOES ANYONE KNOWS WHICH IS A BEST WEBSITE I CAN USE TO GET THE PRODUCT APART FROM THE FREE TRIAL WEBSITE.
LOOKING FORWARD for YOUR REPLIES..
thanks in advance
I too ordered free trial with only charge of 3.99 for shipping. One week after receiving I received a statement from my bank saying I was overdrawn 87.13. They pulled that same @###@ when I called saying I signed up for a membership and did not cancel after 14 days so I was charged. I only had the pills about a week. Apparently the 14 days starts when you place the order. The only smart thing I did is put it on an account that had no money in it. For those of you out there that do not know how to put a stop on your charges. Put a STOP, FREEZE your account and do it today.
do not fall for this scam. I ordered the free trial for $3.95, before i received my trail offer, they had charged my cc $89.00, I call and stayed on hold for more than 30 min. I was told that my trial period was up, I asked how could that be when I never received the product. I received the trail bottle and the regular bottle about 3 days later, and was charged again $89, this was a total nightmare. when returning the product pay extra and get delivery confirmation, you will be glad u did, when I call to see if they had received my returns(2 weeks later), they said they had not received them, but the story quickly changed when I told them I had delivery confirmation, and my money was refunded back to my cc within 2 days.
I went through the same and was told to return the bottle first. I was going to do it but when I got the bottle out of a drawer, I noticed that it had been opened (and not by me). So now I am waiting to see if they take back the credit they gave me and if they did I shall get in touch with my credit card company and trust that they will help me with this scam. Never again!
I am glad that I found this site before ordering a free trial. Because I was aware of these hidden charges, I investigated and found that when signing up for a trial offer that the “hidden terms” are listed on the page where you enter your credit card number. In very small print and honestly how many of us read that small print? I found it interesting tha the 14 trial period actually starts the day you place the order and not when the product ships. Which means that you really only have about a week to try the product and then attempt to cancel it. I find it funny that you are also “automatically signed up for fit factory & cost smashers” but need to contact them directly to cancel? The site that I am referring to is: Nature’s Acai Berry. Makes you wonder how “great” can the product be if they have to resort to these underhanded tactics. Debbie, I agree with you about trying to get these businesses shut down.
Glad I saw this before I fell for the okkiedoke! Something did seem right to me when I saw the same free trial blog, exact same weight loss story, but different pictures of the woman. Red flag for me…..I mean the blog was word from word, but the before and after pictures were different. That’s when I started digging and found this site. The same thing happened to me when I ordered Proactive for my daughter….same concept…fine print about reorders! They just charge you over and over with out your consent. Thanks for the warning…I will be going to GNC or some health food store now verses ordering the “free trials”. Good luck to those of you have lost money especially in this bad economy.
I had no link to terms and conditions until after I ordered my free trail earlier today. Once I saw that I was going to be charged over and over again, I called my credit card company and they issued me a new number immediatly so all I was charged for was the $4.99 s/h. Hope they send my free trial before they try to charge more!
Talk about Scam! I just got my credit card bill for the two products I ordered for a total of about $10.00 but was charged $787.0! Not only was I signed up for a web page, a job service, $59.95 for my “next” delivery -I had not even received the first, had cancelled already realizing it was not ligit, I also had my credit card info stolen and someone ordered $440.00 worth of cell phone accessories sent to a town 175 miles away. The address turns out to be a warehouse! I filed a police report with the city it was to go to, don’t know what will happen. With all of the charges, I exceeded my cc limit so they rejected the $440.00 and it was credited back. I spent 2 hours yesterday getting refunds (I hope!) and today I received a bottle of Pure Acci Berry from Advanced Wellness that I did not order, so I am trying to get thru to them. I have been placed on hold twice so far then just cut off! They say the lines are so busy- I am sure it is ordering more product! Of course, I asked for the line to cancel my monthly shipments! I am very aware of multiple identities of these women. There are 6 separate names for the same lady who lives in my town, all have three kids, all married happily to Adam (what a guy) and all wearing the same “fat” outfit and “skinny” outfit. Same hair, same accessories, was a deal, sextuplets still dressing alike in their mid 30’s.
What a nightmare! And it is everywhere, you can’t go onto any screen without one of these or more being advertised. There has to be a way to stop this nonsense. I guess as long as we ladies feel we need to lose weight we will fall for anything. Extra weight does not fall off with eating anything you want regardless of what product you may take! The only weight we are losing is the money in our pocketbooks!
I wonder how many calories we are burning by being so upset! The young lady who helped me ont he Bromolite (they also charged me for some tea-I never got either of the products) told me she spends her entire day dealing with screaming women demanding refunds. I apologized to her personally, told her I knew she was just doing her job, but it was so distressing to be ripped off of hard earned money in these economic times.
If there is anyway a group of us can do something, count me in!
I was browsing the net and somewhere I found a blog which says about weightloss using Acai Berry. I searched the net for Acai berry and initially I thought it is a magic food. I ordered for 14 day trial and they charged me $4.95 for shipping. I thought that if it really works then I can order afterwards. There is no mention in the main page when we order that they will bill us after 14 days. My credit card was charged $59.95. Later I shocked to see that I was charged $4.95 and $9.95 for subscriptions done automatically throught Acai berry site. When I called my bank, they gave me a number and I have to call them so many times to cancel the subscription. I have returned my bottle 10 days and waiting for amount to be returned.
This is a very big scam. All these are mentioned in terms and conditions which we generally ignore. So BEWARE and dont get cheated by these scams.
I am so sorry that I did not find this website before ordering my “FREE” trial. I am also sorry that I did not read the FINE PRINT under “TERMS and CONDITIONS”. Within 2 weeks my CC was charged $79.22 by ULTRAACAIBERRY and $87.17 by NATRASCIENCE (same company). The first charge was for not returning my “free trial” by 15 days and the second charge was for my automatic monthly shipment of this product which is under the “terms & conditions”. After speaking with a rep. for the company, I was able to recoup 50% of the 2nd charge. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
found a way to scam the scammers!! simply pay for the “free” trial with a pre-paid credit card then promptly remove the remaining balance if any. when they try to charge you again viola! no money left to steal
I thought it was too good to be true! I ordered the “free Trial” for 5.95. As soon as I got the pills I called to cancel the order so they wouldnt send or charge me for any more. Needless to say 1 month later they sent me an email saying my new order would be shipped so I checked my credit account and they had charged $90.39 on my account. I called the 800 to cancel the order in which I recieved another email stating my order had been cancelled BUT no one could or would tell me when to expect my account to be credited back, I got the run around and was told to call back in 7-10 business days. After reading all the comment I hope that O get my refund and I do not get charged again! I dont know what else to do! I guess I have learned my lesson, the hard way!
I too am sorry to say I fell for this scam. These sites use Rachel Ray and Oprah and News agencies as if they recommended the site. When I ordered my so called “Free Trial” It took me directly to a page to order. nowhere on that page did it say anything about 14 days. Now I have a $78.00 charge on my card. I called to cancel and was on hold 20 minutes at 9pm at night before someone in India answered. I gave him hell and he finally relented and said he would cancel the charge and I could keep the bottle. We will see if it is really taken off of my account, but based on reading these comments, I am going to go ahead and dispute the charge on my card anyway. Also, when you do a google search, you will see many sites that say “buyer beware” but that is all part of the scam. Once you open each site, it just gives you a list of the “so called” best ICAI brands to buy and to be wary of immitations. I think they are circumventing people trying to find out that this is an actual scam. Good luck everyone.
I got scammed by thes ass wipes too! The site I ordered from doesn’t say ANYTHING about any other charges – just the shippin charge. Of course they charged my account for 80.00. I now have to dispute the charges with my bank. they will put the 80.00 back in my account. I also had to cancel my debit card so they can’t try and take more money out. What a total SCAM! I’d love to get my hands on the person that started this!!!
I just ordered my “free trial” and paid 4.99 but just by chance told my sister that i ordered it and she asked what site, i went to pull up the site that i ordered it from and couldnt(go figure) then she told me about this site to which she ordered hers and i started reading some of your comments which made me worry. Anyway i called my bank and canceled my credit card. So thank goodness all they got out of me was the 4.99.. i feel sorry for anyone else going through this…
fyi-where in the fine print does it say that they will charge you for web access and membership fees…different prices each time???they also tke this money out whenever they want.i have been charged twice in one day and even though i cancelled i got charged again.sofar its up 2 £86.68 for my free trial offer and i have had to cancel my card because they wont stop taking money.THEY ARE A SCAM!!!
I am so glad to have found this site. Thank God that when I tried to purchase an error came up and said for me to call them to order this product. I did not make that call before I looked here. To all that have fell for it….. Cancel your card….Report it lost! You will receive a new card with a new number. Do it now….dont let it add up.
I too fell for this scam. I called them as I was charged $88.00 twice on my credit card. I only received the sample which was worthless. I am contacting the BBB in San Diego, CA and hope that they have something to suggest for me to
do. I am a senior and cannot afford to get caught up in this scam. PLEASE, DO NOT SEND FOR ANY SO CALLED FREE TRIAL. I ALSO WANT TO CONTACT OPHRA AND TELL HER WHAT IS GOING ON. THE COMPANY USED HER SHOW AS AN EXAMPLE OF THIS PRODUCT. I WAS SUCH A FOOL. DON’T YOU BE.
Im so glad to see this site. I purchased the free trail as well a few days ago. Thanks to this site I called the and had my credit card cancelled to save me from all the hassle.
I was scamed too! I fell for the free trails of Acaiberry and Total Cleanse. They charged over $200 in unauthorized charges to my account. I called them and they told me that they would credit my account back. I went ahead and cancelled my card though and my bank is putting the money back and going after them for the unauthorized charges on my account. I wonder if a class action law suit can be filed?? The company that I had to deal with was Advanced Wellness Research, Inc. The other one i am not sure of it just said TOTALCLEANSE on my statement.
I am so angry with myself that I did not read your article all the way through. Well I just received my so called trial. I am calling right now to cancel it. I will have my bank to stop all their payments. I will be ordering from you the first thing tomorrow morning. I am so upset with myself.
I saw this too late and ordered the “free trial” from natures best acai. i have immediately called them to cancel and was told their system was down and they would call me back. has anyone experienced this with this site?
CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT OR PUT EVERY THING IN SAVINGS.THEY DONT THAT ACCOUNT NUMBER.
Thank you, i was about to purchase afree trial of Acai berry and something else and all i had to pay was the shipping of $3.95 but then i stumbled upon this website and read everything, so thant you for putting out the information and to hear everyones story, i’m sorry for everyone who got scammed, good luck with everything
Sometimes there is nothing you can do to get your original money back, because they might be from another country. I would tell my credit comapny I lost my credit card & get a new one, if I were any of you. Get a new one issued and you will have a new number and they can no longer charge you money for their product if they do not have your credit card number. It is a one time hassle, but it could save you lots of money in the long run
I sent an earlier comment, but since have contacted my bank, and was told several other customers have been calling in the past 2 weeks with same or similar complaints from same -acaiberrydetox 866-949-0138. I have went to ABC News website and put in a comment and plan to go to others who advertise this scam. I have also posted a comment on Complaints Board where many other have the same complaint. I promised the rep. I spoke with this morning I would do everything I could to put them out of business, please do the same. Maybe if we can’t stop them we can put a hole in their scam.
Thank you
I’m so glad I found this website…I too fell for the scam, I ordered the Pure Acai Berry and the Total Clense products approx. 9 days ago, after seeing an ad from a woman who supposedly lived in my town, Mt. Sterling…I became suspicious when I saw the same ad (same woman) while perfoming a web search at work today….except this time the woman was supposedly from Lexington!I cancelled my credit cards today….Thanks so much for the info….I’m glad I found out before it was too late!!
I fell for it myself. I am now disputing 5 charges for over $80 on my credit cards as well as 5 charges for $14.95 in shipping costs. I have called and emailed and I still get charged. In fact, I am getting charged each month and NOT RECEIVING the product. So definately beware!!! I have had to cancel my credit card to get the charges to end. Good luck to you all who are fighting this scammer!
Another fly in the ointment…I called my credit card company to see what could be done & I was informed that they have had MANY, MANY similar complaints….to add insult to injury the CC representative informed me that an additional $83.80 had recently been charged to my account by the same company…..what the devil for???…I have not received any additional product!!!!??? This is fradulent!!!!!
I did receive an e-mail from the company, they tell me that they can refund $70.00 to me and I don’t have to return the product to them….ha ha ha…how pitiful they are!!!!! I point blank told them they need to refund the full amount…I will not accept partial refund…for something I didn’t want, didn’t purchase or didn’t receive. SCUMBAGS!!!!!!
They just don’t get it….I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PRODUCT…NOR WILL I ACCEPT ANY PRODUCT!!!!
My advice….stick with it…it is frustrating…BBB’s all over need to know & hear about this SCAM….AND most importantly, have a new credit card issued to you!!!
So I actually did one of these free trials and now I am stuck and don’t know how to get myself out. I am 21 years old and I have a joint account with my mom. She is pissed! Do you know if these companies have to be registered with the BBB? Also, could I possibly receive some information for your company to my email please? I would appreciate it. I don’t know if I should try this product because I do not want to hurt myself in the long run so I would like some information on your product. Thank you!
Don’t order this product through the AqaiBerry website. The will continually charge your account even without your authorization. I had to cancel my credit card to get it stopped. The “free trial” is a total scam. When you try to call the company for answers, all you get is the run around. I also tried the live chat, with no satisfactory answers.
What a DREADFUL EXPERIENCE I have had with Advanced Wellness Research Inc, located in Nampa, ID. I ordered a “TRIAL” bottle of the Acai Berry and paid the small shipping fee. I did further research and saw some sites were presented as having scam issues, so I called the company and cancelled all further shipments and contact. Two days later my account was hit for nearly $80.00. When I called to inquire, they said I hadn’t called soon enough, but that they wouldn’t send any more product. When I firmly said that I had called in plenty of time to prevent any charges, they said that I could keep the trial bottle and they would return $60.00 to my account. I said I wanted every penny returned to me, but they gave me a fight. They then said they would give me a full refund provided I returned the unused portion of the bottle to them, otherwise I’d have to pay for my “free trial.” I was livid. I finally got a representative to agree to give me a total refund if I return the bottle to them! Some free trial! Not only were they extremely difficult to deal with, they were extremely hard to hear due to a poor connection (must be a huge call center), plus I think their call center is in India or another foreign country because I had a difficult time understanding them. It was a terrible, terrible experience and gave me one huge headache. I ended up spending over 2 hours on two different days with this company. I had printed out the “trial” agreement and it said that if the customer called the number within 14 days, no other charges would apply. Don’t do this – it was awful. I am just hoping I really do get my $80.00 returned to me!
I ordered the free trial and didn’t rec’d an thing but was charged, 5.95, .70, .05, 87.13 all within a week. I did get through to someone who cancelled my subcription and supposedly my refund request has been escalated. I have called and talked to 4 different people and Gail a customer service rep there gave me this address for the refund department:
fwmcancelations7@gmail.com but i comes back as address doesn’t exsist. She assured me i will get an email from the refund department but can’t give me a time frame for the refund nor can she transfer me to that department. Is that bogus or what???
I will never do this again…FWM Labortories 3007 Green street Hollywood Florida 33020.
I have been working on this a week now. What a mess.
Jari
Comments would be more helpful if the company was named.I too had to cancell my debit card. Cost me $40.00 for a new rush card but was worth it to keep these scammers from getting $78.81 plus. Company was Pure ACAIBerry. Is there no legal action to be taken against these people?
AHAHAHAHHA!!! I WAS ALSO SCAMMED!!.I WHEN I TRIED TO CALL THE # 1866-633-6706…..IT WAS DISCONNECTED!!.I CANCELED MY CREDIT CARD!!
i got scamed and i neeed help plase if there is anyone who knows about this plase help me they have chared me 87.19 twice when i was only supposed to pay for the shipping and handling i really want to stop this ??/?? please help
I also got scammed. When I got the product I read the small print. I dumped out the pills I wanted quickly and sent back my unused portion. I sent my package and asked for a signed receipt.Next, I called to let them know that I was canceling my subscription. The number didn’t work. So, I cancelled my credeit card. I figured that they wouldn’t be able to bill me without a CC #.
FIRST, LET ME SAY THAT I’M NOT A REPRESENTATIVE OF the MONA VIE company- but if you are looking for QUALITY Acai products – go to Mona Vie. They are legal, above board, and don’t have any of these HIDDEN MEMBERSHIPS. They put millions into testing and quality control of their products. Like I said, I am NOT affiliated with this company other than being close friends to two of the upper level reps for the State of Florida. So, if you are looking for a quality product – and Acai is great = there’s a ton of medical research on it. Just don’t do like I did and get caught up in this SCAM. I’ve had to cancel my credit card because of it, even though I’ve cancelled over and over. Thanks!!
I also cancelled my subscription and they appeared to stop sending me the product = that was two months ago -AFTER GETTING 5 BOTTLES WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD!!! But, today I got TWO MORE BOTTLES – AFTER CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT. I AM NOW GOING TO CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD AND GET A NEW ONE. THAT’S THE ONLY WAY I CAN SEE TO STOP THIS CRAP!!!! I’M DOING A “RETURN TO SENDER” ON THE LAST TWO BOTTLES. I SCRATCHED MY NAME OFF THE LABEL SO THE POST OFFICE HAS NO OPTION BUT TO RETURN IT TO THE SENDER. INSIDE IS A NOTE THAT I CANCELLED TWO MONTHS AGO AND WANT THE MONEY CREDITED BACK TO MY ACCOUNT. FAT CHANCE!!! RIGHT??? I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON. I KNOW YOU DON’T GET SOMETHING FOR FREE – BUT I HAVE RESPONDED TO “ONE TIME” OFFERS FOR A FREE SAMPLE AND NEVER REALLY HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL THIS ILLEGAL COMPANY CAME ALONG. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON LONG ENOUGH THAT SOME LEGAL FORCE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THEM BY NOW.
I WOULD CLOSE YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT AND THAT WILL STOP THEM FROM CHARGING YOU. AND THEN I WOULD EMAIL OR WRITE THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND EXPLAIN IT TO THEM. THEY WILL GET AHOLD OF THEM AND SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN. MY HUSBAND DID CONTACT THE BBB WHEN HE DID ONE OF THOSE FRRE CREDIT CHECKS ONLINE AND ITS WASN’T FREE EITHER AS THEY KEPT BILLING HIM. THE BBB GOT THEM TO REFUND HIS MONEY. GOOD LUCK.
I was scammed also. I ordered the free trial and was unaware of the fine print. In the meantime my husband became ill and I was busy with him until he passed and they started sending me the bottles of ACai. I had not even had time to take the sameple. Now I would not take it. I am sure it is inferior. I called to have $149 taken from my charge account. They said I had to talk to the company. The number was no longer active. Mastercard somehow put me in contact with them. They finally after much hassle from guy to guy all in Chinese accents they said they would reimburse me for one bottle IF and when I returned it to them undamaged. I have not returned but plan to do it soon and send it return receipt requested and insured to be sure they cannot say I did not send it. Then my credit card company is cancelling my credit card so they cannot put more on there and I am going to get a form in the mail to sign protesting the charge. In the future I will be more careful. What a terrible way to learn this lesson and to have to deal with all this along with all the things I have to do due to my husband passing mid Dec.
I wish your site was one of the first that popped up. I looked at other sites before I found your site and unfortunately I have already ordered from one of those other sites. I did read the fine print and went thru quite a few sites before I found one that cost less than 100.00 per month. They make you put in all your info before you even see the pricing and then if you back out of the page they call you non stop.
I have saved your information and will order right away if the other place lets me return their product. Other wise I will need to pay for that first then oder from you. Can you please make your site easier to find some how? I typed in acai berry diet scams to find it but that was just by dunmb luck.
i read this article a little too late and just purchased a scam.. what should i do and where do i call to cancel. i need to do this immediatley so if you could email me back that woudl be great thanks
I was billed $78.81 for product I did not order. I called this so call cancellation number 1-866-407-1022 to cancel and was put on hold for almost a half hour. The person could not understand english nor spell that well. My next course of action is to report this to the BBB and file a complaint.
Thanks for the information. I almost fell for the scam.
I got scammed!
Count me as one of the fools.
The product failed in any weight loss and I neglected to read the fine print about 14 days. Still I will refuse the charges and instruct my CC company to refuse any further charges.
Read your site too late.
Dennis
I want my order to be canceled i repeat i want it canceled for the acai berry pills thank you
I bought the one bottle of ACAI Berry for $3.95 and my credit card got charged 87.13 14 days later. They will not let you speak to a supervisor when you call and my bank told me it’s a “Legal scam”. Buyer beware.
I saw a female from our area offering a free trial. I did not read the terms and conditions before I gave them my credit card number for the shipping and handling charges. Then I came on this website “Acaiberrysite.com” and read about the free trial offers. I went back to my web site, read the terms and conditions. Found out what you were saying about being scammed was correct. I called the number they say that you can call and cancel, tried to cancel the my order before it shipped. Talked to a live person who said they get so many orders that they can’t stop the shipment from going out, plus they can’t stop my credit card from being charged. So my answer to the person who answered it I will stop it as soon as I get the shipment. I will send it back by the slowest mail I can. Stupid me for not reading the terms and condition.
yep i fell for it and i am playing hell trying to get my money back! fitfactory did refund my money but “searchvitamins” did not and that was an $89 charge!! i am soooooo mad!! they tell you they will refund your money but after over a month they have not. don’t do it people!!! these people are getting rich by being dishonest. good luck to anyone else who is going through the same thing i am.
I was one of those that got scammed, and I was on the pphone and they tell me that they can’t help me. I ordered the free trial and it did not come in and all of a sudden I was charged 92.50 on my credit card. Is there anything I can do? How can this be stopped?
I was a victim of this very scam!!!! I didn’t realize after I had requested a 14 day “free” supply of acai berry for the shipping cost(3.95)only that my CC was being charged without my knowledge! I didn’t bother to check it b/c it’s maxed out and I wasn’t making charges on it. I finally took a look at my CC statement online & there were “unauthorized charges” on it from 11/5 for 29.95 TWICE! They double charged me each time! Again on 12/5 and 1/5 before I knew it! And the $8.51 was charged on 11/28 and 12/29. Oh, and when I ordered the 14 day supply I recieved a 30 day supply first and was charged $89.31. Then about a week later I got the 14 day supply. I was scammed for a total of $196.72. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been caught with the above free offer and I can’t get through to the phone number 1-877-350-8480 to cancel the “Free Trial Offer”. How do I stop this delivery and ongoing costs? Can you help?

I was totally scammed. I ordered my “free sample”, paying shipping charges of course and then I got a phone call from my husband a few weeks later asking me if I ordered something for $86.00?…WHAT!!!!?????, I am outraged that this company took advantage of an amateur online shopper like myself. I am done with online shopping! Never again!
Thanks for letting me vent,
Lynne
ps. Mine were purchased through http://www.healthbuy.com, phone # 818-441-5878 or # 800-756-4120
That is fucked up now my checking account is in the negitive. How do I get a hold of these guys.
Thanks so much for posting this! just from the various ads I have seen and through a great tool (Google) I just copied and pasted some of the wording and found that alot of them are the SAME sites, different names, SAME pictures!!! What a scam!! I just purchased Acai capsules online with no TRIAL for the same as the trial. I am going to try them to see if I like them and go from there!
I have just read your comments on the scam of free trials, sorry to say, I ordered a 2 week supply, and yesterday, I received 60 more pills. I checked my credit card statement and there was the shipping and handling charge, and then another charge of $110.00.
I was shocked, as I would never pay this much for those pills.
I have tried calling them, but, there is a message saying all their circuits are busy.
I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thank you
I did exactly that fell for the scam and they are trying to take $89 a month from my credit card. i have attempted to contact them on the number provided and this was the number for a window company. I rang my credit card company to ask them to cancel they said that I have to cancel with the provider or they are still entitled to take this money. I’ve tried to find the page to contact them but I cant find it anywhere like it no longer exists, what do I do?
PLEASE BELIEVE ME IT IS TRUE THEY ARE DOING THIS. I AM FIGHTING THIS NOW I CALLED AND CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION BUT THEY STILL CHARGED IT TO MY ACCOUNT.
I almost ordered from a site that offered a free trail. I looked more into it and found where it was only for 14 days and they would bill you after 14 days. If you didn’t want the product you could return it. This was on a site with Opra.
Thank You
Mrs Melton

Thanks so much!
