FAKE NEWS SITES
The sites below are examples
of this nasty scam technique
- www.news6health.com

All of the above sites look very similar to the image at right. The scammers simply change the name of the supposed “reporter” because our readers keep listing these scams in our database below. Then, when people google the reporters name (for ex. “Julia Miller”, Samantha Whyte, Gina Miller, Julia Sandler, Karen Simpson, and others ) this page shows up at the top of Google and readers find out it is a scam and avoid being ripped off. So please – if you have a new one add to the database below and help others.
“FREE TRIAL OFFERS” ARE NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. In these scams, the charge per bottle is usually around $80. Twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. But they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying about 4 times more per bottle than you should.
You will be signed up for a subscription
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn’t be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn’t sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.
You will spend hours trying to cancel this subscription
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don’t believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround.
How to tell if the company is legitimate?
If they are offering a free trial, they are not legitimate – Those are all scams – every single one. But if you don’t want to take our word for it, simply contact them before you buy! Act like you are a customer and want to cancel. It won’t take you long to figure out they won’t let you cancel.
FIGHT BACK – SPREAD THE WORD!
- Use the sharing buttons below so more people will learn about these scams before it’s too late
In addition to the people who follow your share, Google will also like this page better, which means more people will find it when they search
- Before making a purchase or signing up for a “free trial”, consumers should check the company out with the BBB Web site to see if it has racked up complaints.
- Consumers who’ve been caught up in the scams should
file complaints with the FTC online or by phone at 1-877-FTC-HELP. - You might also want to know that every time you click on one of the scammers paid ads at the far right of the google search results, it costs the scammers between 50c and $1. Happy clicking!
- Use the form below to enter the website and brand name of the free trial scam you found. Others who do google these brand names/websites often end up on this page and realize it is a scam, so the bad guys lose the sale
*note: new entries appear at the bottom of the list until we verify and resort the list.

Sorry to hear about so many problems. The root cause here is that everyone should be leading a healthier lifestyle. This includes at least 30 minutes of light, cardiovascular and/or muscle-toning exercises a day (with your Dr’s approval), and eat more fresh food (less-processed, and more fruits and vegetables). Add 6-8 glasses of water a day, and the majority of people should find they don’t need these quick-fix diet scams.
Sometimes, real results take time and effort.
Thanks for the info I’m glad a found this site and was able to keep my money. I hope the rest of you can get your money back
Trouble is, that many of the links provided within the articles DO work and take you to the ordering page. The menu items at the top may not, but links to other sports items, videos etc., all appears to be OK. These guys are good.
Yes, I can’t believe it is legal to lie and deceive the way they are doing!
It’s really easy to tell thats is a fake website. just click on another link on the webpage and it doesn’t take you anywhere. Also if it’s a news site they should have up to date stories.
I am so angry that I also fell for this scam thinking I was only paying the shipping. I just want out after getting no where with the Acaioptimum and Advanced colon customer reps. They say I will not get my $99.96 for each product back unless I accept a charge for the second bottle. This is reduced 75% to $25.00 each. At least I will be out less if I get the rebate. My question — has anyone gotten the rebate processed and received the money?
I don’t even dare to try the product….help!
Sarah,
My first ever attempt at something free(minus S/H)and I too got scammed. All the stories below mirror my own. But since I’m friends with my letter carrier, I had her refuse delivery of the capsules, thus making it hopefully easier to dispute this with my cc company. Since I will never have received the product, my case will be stronger I hope. Also, if the charge is not posted within 7 days, it should fall out of pending mode and never show up on the card. At least initially. I will not even attempt the rebate procedure since I refused the product, so my advice is to cancel your card so no more chargs are placed on it. I also feel like a complete idiot since ‘m like 90 billion years old and should have known better.
I have now also reported them to CNN and the BBC as I am sure they would have an issue with this outfit using their esteemed logo on ficticious news article sites, and also to VISA whose logo gives false confidence and who must surely be aware of this merchant, given all the card cancellations and refund requests being submitted, so why are they not blocking any transactions submitted by them. We can only keep trying to get some justice for everyone.
Wow am I glad for this website… in researching this too good to be true article, I stumbled upong this website and did not go through with it… warned my friend who sent me the link too… so u saved both of us from money wasted and huge headaches! Thank you all who put up your experiences… it did us a world of good!
I too have been taken in by this one. Done years of online purchasing too with great (and honest) results. Needless to say the trial has never arrived and cannot contact any of the tel nos. I have been billed for delivery only as of this moment, so after reading all these blogs, I have cancelled my debit card and am going in tomorrow to cancel my bank account to avoid any risk. I have reported them to their web hosting (godaddy.com), the UK Fraud Office, the Daily Express national newspaper, Consumer Direct and BBC Watchdog in the hopes that at least someone might take some action on these fradulent bast**ds.
IT’S A SCAM! DON’T DO IT! CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD RIGHT AWAY. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL CANCEL YOU OR SEND YOU AN EMAIL.
I too, in a weak moment of searching for a diet solution ‘clicked’ onto one of the scam sites and before you knew it bottles of this phony, poor product began to flood my mailbox at $87.47 USD a pop. Much thanks to this site and the telephone references and comments because I can identify with everyone’s experiences. This is their business practice. The value of the product is probably only $3.00 to begin with, then they begin to ship you under the names of Diet Max, Colon Cleanse etc. By the time you can react they’ve tagged you for a few hundred dollars or worthless pills. I just got off the phone with one of their “customer service” people who have assured me that my account is now canceled. I will be watching my credit card statement closely. If you call their service line I would recommend that you take notes throughout the entire phone call. Write down dates and times. Get the name of the person you are speaking with. Make sure to stay on the line until they can give you a cancellation confirmation number. (they promise an email but that never transpires). Have them repeat back to you that your account is canceled and no further product or charges will be billed to you. Following that, tell them this phone call is being recorded (a great tip from another poster)and that you will use this information to report credit card fraud to your credit card company.
I admit, not researching this product and company has cost me almost 350 USD in worthless pills, I still believe the internet offers great products and tremendous people who are great to work with. This experience has been an eye-opener for me. I urge you all to be aware of this scam operation and be cautious purchasing ‘too-good-to-be-true’ products on the internet.
I ordered the Acai optimum and the advanced colon cleanse, I saw a clip on news6health.com and they were offering a free trial, just pay a 1.95 for both, after mail in rebate, and thats all to be charged to your credit card. Well I received my order today and I got (2) bottles of each one. (WTH) so I called them, noting that my cc had been charged 99.95 twice, for (2) bottles that I didn’t order. Anyway I had to go round and round with the guy, so he sent me to a supervisor finally. Supervisor was pretty nice. He is refunding me $160) for two bottles I didn’t want. He gave me confirmation numbers and I cancelled the account. So We’ll see if the money goes back to my cc in 3-5 business days like he stated.(I should of known better, because I have been a victim of this before). NEVER AGAIN! And Im cancelling my CC.
Here is the latest Diet Max is pulling. For those of us who actually signed up, they are sending out e-mails stating, “because you are such a loyal customer, you have just one five prizes”. All you need to do is click the link below and we will ship the prizes to you. They got me once, never again. Don’t click the link!!!
Thought I would copy and paste the e-mail I received so you all can see it for yourself. Here is the e-mail:
Previously, you placed an order for a 10 day trial of acai-diet. As a very special way of thanking you for trying this product we have 5 completely complimentary gifts just for you valued at over $100. There is absolutely nothing you need to buy in order to get these no-cost gifts. We are only giving these gifts to the next 500 people who reply right away. Just click the link below to confirm your email address so we can have the gifts sent to you instantly.
Yours truly,
Team Success
My first scam darn it.
I never knew about web sites like this one with warnings. I am now about to begin my journey of a refund through my bank.
I have just been talking to Acai Optimum customer service who inform me theyhave a kne terms and conditions and gave me a bodgy website saying I signed up for the rebate program of which I know nithing about of course. Told me I couldnt send anything back but the terms and conditions I could acess said I could. He said that was old stuff and I said well I have just this minute acssessed it. They are smooth talkers alright.
I filled out my information to get the free trial until it asked about credit card information and then a red flag raised. Then I tried to do some research about the products I was actually going to buy and thats when I found out it was a scam.
Since I gave them my phone number, I received a call from someone a little bit later asking to buy the product. When I spoke with the “rep” from the scam website, the phone call was disconnected. I suspect they hire random people who can work from their cell phone… a whole elaborate scam going on… and I wish they could be stopped and put in jail.
Anyway, they called back again, and I said I wasn’t interested anymore and the rep said thank you and hung up immediately. I’ve been getting some random advertising text messages and a whole lot more junk email.
I am happy to say this mess is over with.
I wrote back on this site august 2nd or 3rd about being scammed. Just wanted to say after writing a very firm letter stating that the company did not follow their own terms of use (I was billed 8 days after signing up for my trial – I had proof it’s supposed to be 10) and I had my bank/lawyer alerted, I got back the $87.47 US dollars and shipping charges for both the acai max cleanse and colon cleanse. On my transaction, it reports fraud. With this letter, I sent back the product as it wasn’t even called Acai Max Cleanse. It was some other label I think called “Xtreme Cleanse” which isn’t the exact product I ordered.
I’m only out $16 for the shipping I did to this company in Hollywood, Florida. Better than nearly $100 Canadian
Crystal – Can you confirm the address that you wrote to please? And did you refer to both products in this i.e. Advanced Colon Cleanse & Acai Optimum? Many thanks
Well…add me to the list of those who have been “scammed”. I too found the charges, called the 1-800 number and was told they would send e-mail. No e-mail has been received. I found this site and read the comments, so I just hung up from my bank. I have learned a BIG lesson from this one. No more using bank or credit cards on the internet. I’m still fuming!!!
After reading our bank report, we learned we had been
charged $101.95 twice, for a “free” trial bottle of Acaii
Optimum capsules. The cost was advertised as $3.87 for
the shipping and handeling. We telephoned the comppany
and they insisted that we had signed up for bottles every
month if we got our “free” bottle and the charge was for
the next month bottle. We have gone to the bank and filed
a Fraud charge and changed our card number. Would like to
do more, is anyone honest anymore? Feel like the trusting
idiots we apparently are. J. & D. in California
This sounds like the same scam I got hooked into. Nothing seems to match up. The website free bottle and then you sign up and it says it will be only the small amount of shipping & handling, then you get your bank statement and it was $99.96 per bottle (I ordered 3 of them like a dummy). It now states that I have to pay a second charge of $99.96 (per bottle) in order to qualify for the rebate of the original charges. I actually called there 1-800 customer service number and he told me that they do not accept any product returned. If I cancel my account now, then I can not get my rebate processed. After I get the rebate, then I can call back and cancel. I hate that I do not know what to do. I want to go to the bank and cancel my credit card for fear they will charge my account again. I want to get the original $300 back with the rebate but I really feel that it will never happen. Do I go on and cancel my account with them in hopes of not incurring any further charges and just cut my loses at this point? This has been a nightmere ever since I saw their false advertisement claiming a news station indorsed their product and did their own trial study. Boy was I fooled.
add me to the scam list. Now in the process of getting a refund. Guess I have to go to the bank to get a new bank card. Damn and right before vacation. I’m out $200.
I almost got caught in one. Thanks to my credit union for questioning the attempted charge and blocking my debit card! Had to get another debit card, but in this case, I am grateful!
They got me. The $1.50 for the free trial was preceded by a $100.77 debit to my bank acct. Luckily I caught it same day and cancelled my bank card. These sobs better watch out. I call them constantly and mention the FTC and the attorney general. I say take all the rope in Texas and a tall oak tree. I have emailed feedback@foxbusiness.com to please get on top of this. I will beg John Stossel to take the story and expose these sobs. My real fear is the millions they are making off people is going to fund terrorists. I am not crying “remember the Alamo”. Those sobs are going to be thinking Hiroshima when I am done. Everybody start with your local police detectives. They will contact the detectives in the rip off address state (in my case Florida). Get your local news channel to air a story and warn people. Email all your contacts, blog it, post it on any forums you are a member of and ask people to forward it. Let’s stop these thieves.
Wish I would have seen this site when I was searching for the product in google. I signed up for one of these trial offers and the company tried to charge my card for $99.95 the second I click the submit button. Luckily I used my paypal debit card and didn’t have that much in the account, so it was declined. Paypal contacted me and told me my card was put on hold and why and gave me their contact number, saying they tried to put the charge through numerous times that day. I called and told them to cancel this immediately and the man tells me the account wasn’t completed so there is nothing to cancel and I explained to him about 10 times that they were trying to charge my card all day so there is obviously some type of account out there to cancel. I wasn’t too worried because they can’t get the money off my card when it is not in the account, but I just got an email from paypal saying they have put a hold on my card again because they suspect fraudulent activity. I am thankful that I used my paypal debit card and not my checking account debit card to pay the “$1.19″ shipping for the trial. Should have known better then to fall for it but looks like I will have to get paypal to send me a new card and cancel this one so these people will stop putting a freeze on the small amount of $ I have in the account. I will call them back tomorrow though and tell them that I am contacting the FTC and their local authorities to report the fraud.
wow, i’m so glad i found this site. i almost fell for one of these scams. i was about to put my cc info into the web site when one of the representatives from the company called me and said she could see what i was filling in online! she said she would now be handling my form so i didn’t need to do anything else online. she asked for my cc information, and i hung up…the fact that she called me kind of creeped me out and sent up a red flag. i ignore my phone the 13, yes 13, times the representative (who barely spoke english) tried to call back. something just didn’t seem right about that. then i found this site, and it saved me from probably making the same mistake on another site! im so sorry to all of you who got scammed
Hi Guy’s…..Unfortunately i am yet another one who has fallen for this SCAM!!!!!!! i placed my order for a ‘free trial’ yesterday (16/8) at approx 3pm – unfortunately,i done things the wrong way round and searched for the company after the mishap had occured – i immediately contacted them to cancel the order and the person at the other end said they had cancelled the order and that i was to receive an email detailing this shortly….Guess what….NO MAIL!!!i then contacted my cc company asking them to confirm if a charge had been put on my acc by these ba*&@*ds and they confirmed that it looked as if the company had set up a subscription for this product which means they would be taking £65 per month for as long as they wanted – i have cancelled my cc now and learnt yet another hard, hard lesson!!!!!! Please no-one else fall for this.
In a moment of weakness (and temporary insanity) I too fell for this, hook, line, and sinker via a fake web site. I now know that news site is just a front for the ads.
My moment of insanity took place just before midnight Sunday evening. I called right after 9:00 this morning (Monday) which the site says is the beginning of the customer service hours armed with all the info from these posts as well as having my credit card account up and visible online.
I was on hold for only a couple minutes, and after multiple attempts by the woman on the phone to talk me into alternative options and offers and waiting periods on my end while she “looked into things/info” and me reaffirming that I wanted to cancel everything at the end of every offer she made, she said fine but that to receive all my money back I’d need to go to the rebate web site and fill out and send in that paperwork. I asked her why since I had my credit card account up and saw no actual or pending charges and that I was calling now to cancel before any charges or shipments took place. Another pause and she finally said that everything would be canceled now.
I directly asked her to confirm that everything was canceled and that I would not be sent or charged anything. She said “yes.” I also requested a cancellation confirmation via email and she said I should receive it soon (I really wanted to hold her on the line until it showed up but didn’t).
It’s now an hour later later and no cancellation email. To top it off, my credit card company just called me with a fraud alert. I spoke to a rep who said there was a pending charge for the acai pills. He said unfortunately this happens fairly often and reassured me that they were there to help and if the charge did process instead of being canceled that I should dispute it and they’d take care of it immediately and also ensure no future charges took place. I explained to him how I realized I’d been scammed and called their customer service number first thing this morning and gave him a rundown of my conversation. He put a note in my account indicating that I’d done due diligence to stop the charge.
I cannot believe I fell for this. My gut was telling me not to put my info in last night but the size of that gut and my frustration at not losing weight despite legitimate efforts unfortunately overruled my common sense.
Unless it’s something in a store and on a shelf or from a reputable store with an online site, never, ever again!!!
An update on my dilemma. I still have no email confirming cancellation of the Acai Max Cleanse order and my “account” with them as I requested. However, the charge on my credit card is still pending vs. processed. I’ll be diligently checking the credit card account online a few times each day until either the pending amount disappears or the charge goes through and I start the next battle with them. Even if the pending charge goes away, I’ll be keeping close tabs on the card for a few months.
I think the only thing holding them back from completing the charge at this point is they fear I recorded the conversation with the customer service rep because of my repeated insistence that the rep clearly state and confirm that everything had been canceled, that I would not be charged, and that I would not receive any shipment.
That might be a worthwhile tactic for the rest of you when calling…tell the customer support rep to please wait while you get your recorder so you can record the conversation and then ask them to confirm who they are and each piece of the agreement you want to invoke: they will cancel the subscription, cancel the shipment (if not already shipped) or provide an RMA or return information to immediately send it back and they will accept return of the shipment, and that no charges will be made to your account and any existing charges will be reversed (except for S/H).
Oh, another lovely side effect is we received 3 rapid-succession phone calls yesterday from toll free or other suspicious numbers. We have caller ID so did not answer them but upon Googling the numbers it appears we’re now on their telemarketing list. So, more calls to ignore until they finally give up and go away.
Yes, I got caught also. Embarrassed as hell, because these predators who prey on all of us who are overweight, I contacted my bank. They knew about the scam. Regardless of where the scam is, if you can give the date of the transcripts, amounts, they can go into bat for you…to cut a long story short I got my $80 back, no charge to me. Only thing- I had to cancel my credit card as they pass on your details to others.Good luck.
Buyer beware of Mary jane free offer, I went to the order and my bill was unbeknowing to me untill I checked out out was $79.79.
their customer service could not find my order however a third party called to confirm the shipping address. Once you order you can not cancel.
Thanks,
Jim
Hi, I was falling for this as well and tried to order one of these “free trials”. After i enterred my credit card details, the connection seems to have failed. Does this mean that I got lucky and that it didn’t work? I did not receive any kind of confirmation emails either. I would really like to know if it happened to anyone else and I should worry, or if it means that I’m safe.
Thanks
hi nora
I’m sorry to say that the same thing happened to me last week, unfortunately they arrived 3 days later. i got my bank statement this morning and have been charged nearly £50. The total i thought i was paying was £3.11 for shipping. I have had to speak to the fraud team at my bank and they are going to investigate it but i’ve had to cancel my debit card am waiting for a new one to arrive. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you don’t go through the same thing. My mum ordered some on the same day and was only expecting to have to pay £2 shipping but she’s checked and she’s been charged £68, the bank are also trying to help her.Phone your bank and cancel your card that you paid with because they apparently claim you’ve signed up to a subscription and will continue to take money each month! Good Luck. Everyone avoid these sites at all cost!
Acai Berry Select.com evidently are nothing more than theives.
xx
I was silly enough to fall for this i cancelled my order within 24 hours i still havent recieved the berries WHICH I NOW DONT WANT they have taken £65 from my account and i cant get throught to any one all the emails say is i cant get a refund WHAT A SCAM NOT HAPPY…………………..

Hello again, Thank you to all who wrote to warn people to cancel their credit card and avoid billing again. It didn’t occur to me that they would keep billing once I had my confirmation number for cancellation. I cannot believe I still am foolish enough to think they would honor a cancellation number! I will be at my bank first thing in the morning to cancel the number and apply for a new account. Any information that helps is wonderful. Also, when I thought about it (finally!) I realized these creeps now have my credit card number & God only knows who they pass that on to. You would truly think I would know better – several months ago, someone got hold of my cc # and bought $2000 worth of Sony playstations! Luckily, my bank has a great Fraud Dept. and caught it immediately. Oh, the scum got away with the goods, but I was not charged. I filled out a fraud report and was immediately refunded. That’s two for two – now, who’s the biggest jerk on this site???

Hello again, I have never written so many times to a post!
I am having a difficult time believing this is true, so I’m almost afraid to post it! If you read my last post, I left off with fighting with these thieves for over an hour, only to become more aggravated than ever. After the call, I contacted the Attorney General’s office in MA, the FTC, & the BBB. The woman I spoke to at the Atty General’s office led me to a site to write down all that happened, she would review it, and call the company to report my complaints & see if she could resolve anything. I also filled out similar complaints for FTC & BBB.
I checked my bank statement online this morning and did not see any sign of the amounts of $99.96 X2 anywhere. I checked everywhere – it had not been debited, nothing.
When I called the bank, the representative who had helped me on Monday also searched with me & could not find any sign of the charges. I told him about the Atty General’s office calling, and he said the entire amount had been deleted from my account! I will never know the entire story, but it certainly seems as though one or more of those complaints & phone calls caused them to credit the entire amount back to my account! Like I said, I’m almost afraid to say it out loud for fear it will show up somewhere tomorrow. As of this moment, the 2 amounts of $99.96 are gone from my bank account. So, for anyone out there, it is certainly worth a shot to contact the Attorney General’s office in your state and file the online complaint form. Of course, if these amounts rear their ugly heads again, I will begin my crusade all over again. I still believe there is strength in numbers and somehow all of us who have been scammed by these deceitful crooks, should somehow band together and fight back. Any ideas? My blood is still boiling from Sunday, so I am up for a fight! Looking for some unique ideas (legal) from the “scammed family.” Hey, I wonder if I will still receive my “free” trial sample!
Has anybody found a website that is legitimate to buy from and not spend hundreds of dollars???
Thanks,
Katie
Katie – I got mine from THIS website. Click on the “online store” button at left side, second from the top. Lots of choices. I got the pure stuff for $39 for 3 bottles.

Just read many of the comments – so frightening! How dare these horrid people continue to prey on the public? What a silly question – as long as there are people like me who will fall for a scam, it will continue. I agree with several consumers re: legal action, but where does one begin? Also, after reading these comments, I am heading directly to my bank & cancelling my credit card. I don’t trust these thieves – chances are I will continue to see charges on my account every month. There must be something a large group can do. Any lawyers out there?

Yes, I fell for a scam – never thought I would ever be that foolish, but this time it happened. Just like everyone else listed, I read over the terms, understood it to mean I would only pay the shipping cost and, if cancelled within 7 days, no further charges would be applied. Within minutes, my online banking account showed 2 withdrawals for $99.96 each for the items. This was on Sunday night, 8/8/10, so I had to wait until Monday morning. Good luck trying to speak to anyone! First of all, the representatives barely speak English, so it is difficult enough to communicate. It ended up being an argument with “supervisors” which lasted 1 & 1/2 hours!
Each person simply parroted the exact same statements. I am ordinarily a calm person, but was actually yelling into the telephone. Then, the most ridiculous part of all, they began offering me various “gifts” to make up for the billing. They offered certificates to a restaurant, $30 off, then $40 off, then $50 off the payment. It didn’t matter how many times I was stating (by this point, hollering) my point, each person simply refused to refund the money. After finally just hanging up, I have notified the Attorney General of MA office – they have a form filled out & call the company themselves to negotiate, the FTC, which also filed a complaint, the BBB, who did the same. The bottom line is so true – if something says it is free, RUN AWAY VERY FAST!!! I was so embarrassed by my stupidity that I have not told anyone. I feel obligated, however, to warn anyone to stay away from these companies. Buyer Beware – How True!
I did a stupid thing which I never do and ordered a free trial of Acai Berry from a popup. It stated it would only be $1.49 for shipping now they are charging 99.97 then I would have to send in the rebate form to get my money back. I should have known better that nothing is free. Problem is the contact numbers they list for Australia do not work and I don’t know how to contact them. The confirmatiom email stated Diet max 8003202983 for the charges. Can anyone help me to contact someone to have them cancel this order. As my credit card company is currently cancelling my card but that charge has already gone through. Help ??
sorry to hear u fell for this like the rest. u should b safe now that u cancelled ur card(being a big pain in the u know what)but i got no wheres with them on the phone. i called twice even saying i would turn them in to the bbb but they do not even want to listen to anything u have to say. i feel so stupied i fell for this i to am usually very careful.
Thanks for the info I’m glad a found this site and was able to keep my money. I hope the rest of you can get your money back
well,it does make me feel slightly better that i am not the only one who has been to hell and back with this scam. i too was charged the 87.47 tried to cancel could not understand a word they were saying, was hung up on ready 2 rip my hair out called again to no avail. i cancelled my debit card, which is a total inconvience but i dont trust that it was cancelled. and did any1 notice the bottle came w/ no paper work with info on it at all. it was suppose to be 14 day trial and was charged 2 days after receiving product and when i called it became 10 day trial which still doesnt explain charge within 2 days. people work hard for their money and it is a damn shame we have to live amongst the scum bags!!
My card got charged an additional $119, 3 days after I ordered the trial and 1 week before I even received the first bottle!
When I called to cancel they assured me that I would not be charged anything else but they had already charged me an additional $119 that I was unaware of at that point!
Now the website is down, http://www.mytrimtrainer.com and there is no contact number.
I too am a sucker and fell for the “free” trial. What I ordered is not entirely what I received. Then I checked my account and they charged me, without authorization, an additional $87.47 for the trial bottle. Total scam. I called to get a refund and was transferred to a “supervisor” who gave me the same runaround. Funny thing is that 1 bottle on the site is actually $39.95 not 87 fucking dollars!!!!
COULD everyone please enter the phone numbers they called so that others who do not have the phone number can contact the company and try and cancell.. Thanks
Ordered the trial product this morning, only to discover a charge for 99.95. Called to cancel and get a refund for the 99.95. Of course they gave me the run around transfered me around to three people claimed the managers were too busy etc… Finally got a manager told them that if they did not refund my money I would file a BBB complaint and hire a lawyer to file fraud charges. I also told them I would call my bank and dispute the charge. After repeating my self several times she came back and told me she could refund me $50. Because my order was already in process she couldn’t give me the full amount. I called her bluff, told her I knew they would find a way to cancel the shipment once I accepted a lesser amount for a refund. She then came back with $70. I repeated myself again and she put me on hold. Three minutes later she cam back and agreed to a full refund. Stick to your guns and they will cave.
I also called to cancel and get a refund. Was first offered $45 then $55 then $65. I wouldn’t settle for anything other then the full amount which the supervisor finally allowed. He said it would be transfered into my account within 7-10 business day.
Just wondering how you received ur refund and if in fact it has gone through?
I got my product and tried to go to the website to check the terms and conditions when I discovered I would be charged 2 payments and only get a rebate on one. I got your website and immediately called the customer service number. The wording in their literature and on their website is very tricky and they seem to have their bases covered to rip you off and keep you from getting your money back. They would not reimburse me or give me a RMA number to return the product.
I called my bankcard and they called the company. In a phone conference between the company agent, the bank card company and myself, I was able to be reimbursed for all but the shipping. I had to go through my credit card company, but I was able to get a refund.
I’m glad to see that you have not fallen for any of these diet scams, Tip. Just use the link on this page.
Say Tip, weren’t you Speaker of the House back in the 70s and 80s? Thanks for taking the time to add a little credibility to this site!!!
That is fucked up now my checking account is in the negitive. How do I get a hold of these guys.
My bank filed a dispute for me. I hope since it is Visa I will be reimbursed. At this point the money is not near as important as getting these sobs nailed. Oh, I would love for Jack Bauer to walk into whatever sleezy place their sorry butts are sitting and create an episode.
it is a big scam, they charged me over $160.
when I called the customer care, they said it was my fault, i must not read the fine prints carefully and that they never offer free trials.
don’t believe their free offer.
it’s a big scam
I don’t know about everyone of those sites, because I found a good one first go ( maybe I was lucky) who sent me a monthly trial bottle of pills for $1.95. My credit card has not been charged since, on the contrary, I’ve had trouble finding ways to sign up for a proper subscription because I found the pills they supplied me to be very effective.
I’m all for a good cause and fighting scams, however, I also believe that blacklisting hundreds of brands because they share a similar ingredient in the final product to be highly de-constructive. So maybe 90 of 100 of those brands are just scams, its not their fault. This is the INTERNET, its YOUR FAULT for falling for it.
Godbless,
Andrea Anderson.
Uh, hate to tell you Andrea, but YOU FELL FOR IT TOO!
And you don’t even know it yet!
You don’t realize you signed up for a subscription because they hide the little notice about that, and once you’ve left that page there is nothing to indicate it is a subscription.
I bet you next month you’ll be back here pissed off like everyone else that they are taking $80 or more out of you credit card.
Oh, and by the way – it’s not 90 out of 100 that are scams. EVERY SINGLE FREE TRIAL we have ever seen is a scam. They trick you into a subscription, and to make it even worse, they send you crappy product.
Will be looking to hear back from you in 15-30 days.
Huge scam. Spent a week trying to cancel and now have been charged the US amount of $87 ($92 Canadian) for the acai max cleanse. Have spent the morning trying to dispute the Acai Max cleanse. Phoned 4 different numbers yet none are admitting they are affiliated. The advanced colon cleanse had been canceled a few days ago but the max cleanse number did not work and it’s the only way to cancel the subscription.
I canceled my credit card and my bank is sending me fraud papers to attempt disputing the $92 CND charge.
Dont sign up for a FREE TRIAL. It’s not worth it.
I too wanted to try the free trial for the Acaioptimum & cleanse where I read the great results the news person had with it. I thank God that I’m so leary about putting my credit card info. on the internet. I went as far as my info. with address and stopped it when another email came to me about another deal to suck me in but it had a phone # on it so I called. I spoke with a chinese person about how you can only order on line and that they’d keep taking money from my credit card for future orders ($99 or something) so I had issues with that.
I still want to try the aciaberry, so I researched some more and found this site that seemed trustworthy and was certified with the BBB. I called them and spoke to someone american who I could understand english and ordered a 3 pack of the product. I received email confirmation and a tracking # with UPS and should see the product Mon. or Tues. and they will NOT keep taking $ out of my acct. I’ll give an update once the product arrives etc. but I think I’m dealing with a legit co. I will let you know more once I receive the product etc.
And why do I think that Andrea is in on the scam ……
That sounds awesome, please if you check back here, let me know if that company will deliver as far as Australia, I’m living here in Brisbane and having a tough time finding local acai products.
Godbless,
Andrea Anderson
Kathy:
What website and how much did you pay for your product?
Andrea – I got my order yesterday as promised.
Started taking the pills immediately. Maybe I’m just excited or something, but I did feel more energy and a LOT less hungry yesterday and today. Hope it continues.
Sorry, I have no idea where they deliver outside the US.
Thank you for taking the time to post, the $99.96 was the routine used also twice on us. We also had TRIAL AcaiOptimum and Advanced Colon experience. We had our bank reverse the INTERNATIONAL BANK FEES, issue a temporary credit and file a claim to try and get back the $99.96 (twice) and $1.19 (twice).
We cancelled and received RMA for both TRIAL AcaiOptimum and Advanced Colon, only to find out that it only applies to 2nd shipment (have not even received first shipment)and that since we cancelled we do not get the rebate either (since we did not try for 2 months)and are stuck with the FREE product for $202.31
($99.96 + $1.19 twice!!).
If enough people file claims then the international biller will be shut down by VISA.
The deceiptfull part is that they tied up our account 7/27, took pending charges off then ran thru all later on weekend 7/31 after we though we cancelled 7/28.
You may want to cancel any debit card used to avoid another ruthless billing attack to your checking account for these preditors!!!
These people are very smooth!! Beware!!!
I’ve been thinking of purchasing this product to lose weight, but after reading your comments I’m doubting to buy it. Have any of you guys buy any of the products from this site? Can I feel secure to buy off this website? Better yet does anybody know if Acai Berry is sold in any store?
Fatima – I got 3 bottles of Acai Burn from this site for $39. Took about a week and just got it yesterday. So far, so good.
I also got some of the sambazon juice at my whole foods store. Tastes good, but has a lot of apple juice and some other stuff, so not too sure about that.
Anyone find some other stuff in the stores?
if it just has apple juice then it’s probably not much help. Unfortunately, it seems you can’t find a pure acai juice in the supermarkets.
I am a pretty wary internet purchaser but this one I did not do my due diligence until AFTER I placed my order for my TRIAL AcaiOptimum and Advanced Colon. I have since called the company that handles both products and was told this was NOT a TRIAL but a subscription. I asked for a cancellation of this “subscription”, told both the CSR and her Supervisor that this was a bait and switch situation and that their “company” would be reported to the federal government. I have yet to receive the “product” and after reading more about the warnings, doubt that I will use them when and if I do receive them. I have placed a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission online. I should have known when my bank called me on Wednesday about these charges that something was wrong. When you get the “Rebate Form” and read it, you see that you have to make TWO payments of $99.96 BEFORE you can claim a rebate. THIS IS SO WRONG and I agree…we should all file a class action suit against Nutrition Craze Ltd (The Nutrition Craze Group).
You are so right, I did the same thing and they charged my account 96.96 twice, I called and they said I signed up for the subscription..bull I didnot do that, just wanted to do the trial promo for 1.95, I reported this to the FCC and Atty General, your right, should have a class action suit stated..it was a very expensive lesson to learn..
Well I just freaked, I checked my credit card statement and I have been billed twice for $111:00. So much for a free trial when you pay minimal postage. The Product i was getting was AcaiOptimum. the address is Po Box Linlithgow EH49 9AH UK INT TEL- +44 203 139 9104 I don’t know what to do to get my money back! and being in Australia doesn’t help matters. any advice Please.
I’m from Australia and I have just been scammed too
But one of my workmates got her tablets for only the shipping fee. She must be one of the lucky ones.
Now I have to get my credit card cancelled as they have taken 2 x $113 out off my card and they didn’t even send me a receipt for when I paid the “$2″ shipping fee. What a crock of poo! If anyone from Australia got their money back in some way please get in contact with me.
Hi Michelle,
I am in Australia and bank with CBA. I called up to cancel my card and transfer to a new credit card in case the acai optimum account isn’t closed and they debit me again. The CBA asked why I am cancelling and told them about the scam, “I have no receipts and not authorising the debits etc but getting debited”. They asked if I would like to “dispute” the transactions. The six debits to my credit card which I have not authorised(one for 115, then several accidental 1 or 2 dollar debits by Acai Optimum which they are apparently refunding… yeah right, plus the CBA’s international transaction fees). They have said it is really common and gave me a reference number for the dispute, and they said likely to take three weeks to be resolved. Hopefully they get it back, but just call up the credit card area of your bank and tell them what has happened.
Hope it helps,
Nicole
Hi Nicole,
Thank you for your post.
I have tried to contact the customer service on 03 90087796 tried to cancel but again they have dispatched the order and unable to cancel the order. It’s just a waste of time talking to the customer service which give me run around…and I dun want to call them again.
I’m just wondering if you are actually received the product? I have received both product AcaiBerry and Advance Colon, and to my surprise they send me 2 bottles each. I managed to cancel my credit card around 3-4 days after the order (basically when I found this site).
I have called my bank to cancel my card, and they told me to dispute the transaction after I explain the whole thing. They told me to refund the product if I receive it, but then the problem is where should I send back the product…Thanks God they only managed to charge twice 99.96 usd not more.
Did you end up receiving the product and send it back?
How did you go with the bank in regards to disputing the transaction? I don’t have any proof or anything in regards to the free trial.
If you can give me any advise that is highly appreciated!
