Have you heard about the acai berry? Do you want to know more about the health benefits of acai berries and berry juice? Acai berries are highly touted by marketers who say it’s one of the elite superfoods with anti-aging and weight loss properties. Some manufacturers use acai berries in cosmetics and beauty products. But do scientific studies support these claims of acai benefits?

What is the acai berry?
The acai berry is an inch-long reddish, purple fruit. It comes from the acai palm tree (Euterpe oleracea), which is native to Central and South America. It is a relative of the blueberry, cranberry, and other dark purple fruits.

Research on the acai berry has focused on its possible antioxidant activity. Theoretically, that activity may help prevent diseases caused by oxidative stress such as heart disease and cancer.

Is the acai berry healthy?
Acai contains several substances called anthocyanins and flavonoids.

The word anthocyanin comes from two Greek words meaning “plant” and “blue.” Anthocyanins are responsible for the red, purple, and blue hues in many fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Foods that are richest in anthocyanins — such as blueberries, red grapes, red wine, and acai — are very strongly colored, ranging from deep purple to black.

Anthocyanins and flavonoids are powerful antioxidants that help defend the body against life’s stressors. They also play a role in the body’s cell protection system. Free radicals are harmful byproducts produced by the body. Eating a diet rich in antioxidants may interfere with aging and the disease process by neutralizing free radicals.

By lessening the destructive power of free radicals, antioxidants may help reduce the risk of some diseases, such as heart disease and cancer.

Are there known health benefits of acai berries?
Some studies show that acai fruit pulp has a very high antioxidant capacity with even more antioxidant content than cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, or blueberry. Studies are ongoing, though, and the jury is still out.

People eat acai berries to address various health conditions. But so far, acai berries have no known health benefit that’s any different than that of other similar fruits.

Can acai berries boost weight loss?
Scientists are learning more about the functional power of superfoods, such as the acai berry. Although acai is touted in some weight loss products, few studies have tested the benefit of acai in promoting weight loss.

For now, plenty of research supports eating a diet rich in antioxidants. There’s no doubt that berries and other fruits are a key part of any healthy diet promoting weight loss. The jury’s still out on whether there is something special about acai’s ability to shed excess pounds.

Why are acai berries used in beauty products?
Some cosmetics and beauty products contain acai oil in the ingredient list. That’s because acai oil is a powerhouse of antioxidants.

Studies show that acai oil may be a safe alternative to other tropical oils used in beauty products such as facial and body creams, anti-aging skin therapies, shampoos and conditioners, and other products. When acai oil is processed and stored long-term, the antioxidant levels remain high.

Do acai berries and acai juice have any side effects?
If you have pollen allergies or have a known hypersensitivity to acai or similar berries, you may want to avoid this fruit. When eaten in moderate amounts, though, acai is likely safe

For centuries, South American tribes have known (and taken advantage of) the health benefits of acai berry (pronounced ah-sigh-ee). Resembling a purple grape and tasting like a tropical berry, acai berry has been shown to have powerful antioxidant properties thanks to a high level of anthocyanins – the same pigments that are present in red wine.

But now a new scientific study on rats carried out by researchers in Brazil, led by Maria Lucia Pedrosa from the Federal University of Ouro Preto, has shown that the pulp of acai berries may counter the effects of a high-fat diet and reduce the risk of developing high blood cholesterol levels.

The study involved using female Fischer rats which were divided them into four groups: two groups consumed a standard diet, and two groups consumed a high fat diet containing 25 per cent soy oil and 1 per cent cholesterol. One standard diet group and one high fat diet group received additional acai pulp at a level of 2 per cent.

It was noted by the researchers that after six weeks, there was an increase in blood levels of total and non-HDL cholesterol and a decrease in levels of HDL cholesterol in the high-fat diet only animals. Such changes were attenuated in the acai-supplemented high-fat diet animals.

After six weeks, researchers noted an increase in blood levels of total and non-HDL cholesterol and a decrease in levels of HDL cholesterol in the high-fat diet only animals. Such changes were attenuated in the acai-supplemented high-fat diet animals.
According to the study’s findings that were published in Nutrition magazine, ““This is the first study, to our knowledge, addressing the potential benefits of acai intake in the cholesterol profile.”

Acai expert, Dr Alex Schauss, from US-based contract research organization AIBMR, commented independently on the study that, “Acai does not appear to cause liver damage as evidenced by the fact that acai does not alter activities of several liver enzymes. This is important since liver damage is a common phenomenon when a drug is taken for a long period of time.”

The findings of the Brazilian study can be regarded as very significant. High cholesterol levels, known as hypercholesterolaemia, have a long association with many diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease (CVD) and this is undoubtedly a very important break-though in the field of acai berry research. High cholesterol levels, the unwanted side effect of unhealthy Western diets laden with fat, are thought to be the cause of almost 50 per cent of deaths in Europe, and reported to cost the EU economy an estimated €169bn ($202bn) per year.

When asked about possible future study in the field of acai berry research, Dr Schauus, from AIBMR, noted that these studies should focus on using a better high fat mouse model, “There is a published rodent diet that is close to a typical high fat American diet or McDonald diet that could be used.”

It now seems likely that at last the scientific community is beginning to sit up and take notice of the undeniable benefits of the amazing acai berry.

Acai berry gets a lot of attention. Why is this? The cynical readers will say it is due to some impressive marketing push effected by the acai bigwigs from their privileged position at the top of their ivory towers… others will (perhaps grudgingly) admit that there must be something behind all this fuss. As the saying goes: there isn’t any smoke without a fire.

Acai berry is like nothing else we have seen on the health food and supplement market; the benefits of adding the berry to a balanced diet are so many and so wide ranging that it is sometimes difficult to believe that one little fruit can do so much. And in fact this is where people start to get more than a little skeptical, especially when these benefits are being thrust down their throats by pushy sales tactics.

So here’s the thing: acai berry is pushed pretty hard by those who would sell it to you. In that respect it is absolutely no different to any other product that has been for sale; if you’re not pushing the plus points of your wares then you’re not going to be a very successful salesperson. Shoving the 15 different things that Acai is reportedly good for down the throats of potential customers, though, just sends them into a disbelieving mood. It starts to sound too good to be true.

Here’s another thing: acai berry isn’t a miracle worker. It cannot make you lose 30 pounds in 2 weeks. The only way to do that is to chop off a limb. People read the fantastical claims touted by the acai berry “hard sellers” and they take them to heart: even if it’s pretty obvious that the effects are not going to come in a few days, and even if it is clearly implied that you need to stop eating so much pie all day… people don’t see it that way. Naturally acai gets the blame, and the complainers move off to look for some other miracle cure to their problems.

To sum up: acai berry is a great product that helps the body in oh so many different ways. Unfortunately some of the hard sell that goes on misleads people into thinking that it’s something it isn’t. Be realistic in your expectations and use acai as the aid to a healthier lifestyle that it promises to be. Follow these simple guidelines and your friendship with acai will be a long and lasting one!

Acai has a huge variety of uses, and manufacturers are utilizing it in more and more inventive ways. It seems to crop up in almost every foodstuff and drink that attempts to sell itself as a health product. But what perhaps issurprising is that it is becoming a firm favorite of those manufacturers that make beauty and skin products.

Beauty products? Surely that’s pushing the limits of where acai can help us?

Well, actually no it isn’t. The antioxidants in acai (yes, they had a play a cameo role in this process at some point…) are good for your skin. We know that much already. So why shouldn’t we be able to just apply those antioxidants straight to our skin?

The fact is that if we apply the antioxidants directly to the skin then they can be absorbed more quickly and so do their job more efficiently. The process of digesting the antioxidants and allowing them to do their magic (the traditional method, if you like) is all well and good, but going directly to where we want the results makes more sense.

Other Products

Other beauty products invariably use oils to achieve their promised effects. Acai oils are not really any different to these more traditional ingredients, it’s just that acai contains a whole load of wonderful antioxidants; it is a powerhouse of antioxidant action. Choosing acai oils for beauty products rather than the traditional components just means more antioxidant benefit.

Studies have shown that acai could be the perfect alternative to facial and body creams, shampoos, anti-aging products, and many other creams and ointments. More and more manufacturers are seeing the benefits of acai in their products, so expect to see this as a standard in the near future.

A little-known fact about acai is that it contains enough anthocyanins actively to help your eyesight.

British pilots – famous for their ability to bring down German planes in even the worst fighting conditions – were told to eat a lot of bilberry. Bilberry contains plenty ofanthocyanins and, you guessed it, their eyesight improved dramatically as a result. From their own reports their ability to see in the dark increased almost as soon as they started on their bilberry diet. Of course, acai contains more anthocyanins than bilberry, so it stands to reason that the positive effect will be even more marked.

Those Scientists…

Scientists find this kind of phenomenon quite enthralling, so inevitably there were some tests done to ascertain the veracity of the British pilots’ claims. A group of French scientists conducted tests in 1964 where 36 peoples’ vision was tested for the ability to adapt between light and dark lighting conditions. The adaption rate was tested before and after the volunteers wereprovided with bilberry anthocyanins. The results of the tests were interesting: they showed that for a few hours after taking the bilberry supplements, eyesight adapted much between between the extremes of light and dark.

A more recent study carried out in Japan showed that 50mg of blackcurrant anthocyanins provided significant benefits to volunteers’ vision: again, better adaption to light and dark, and they were less susceptible to eye fatigue and strain. Interestingly, though, 20mg appeared to have little or no effect. So you’ve got to eat lots!

Battle Stations!

Most of us are lucky enough never to have flown a warplane in anger, and our need to see enemy pilots is markedly reduced. But our eyes are so delicate, so complex, and so prone to damage that any help we can get in keeping them in tip-top shape should be quickly embraced.

Think of this as well: the anthocyanins are affecting the eyes so quickly, what other parts of the body are they helping? If the eyes are anything to go by then the anthocyanin’s effect is quite pronounced. Here’s a chance to give nature a helping hand!

Everyone is aware that much — but importantly not all — of Acai’s very potent health benefits come from our little friends the antioxidants.

Consider this:

  • Antioxidants are very good for our bodies
  • Acai contains more than its fair share of antioxidants
  • It follows that Acai should be good for you

And indeed it is: just look around this site and you will see some of the many reasons why Acai is a great addition to any diet.

Your Brain: Think About It

Because of the way the brain works — and because of all the intense work that goes on in there, 24 hours of the day and seven days a week — this very special organ has a high metabolic rate which, in turn, leads to it being uniquely vulnerable tooxidative injuries. As we know, antioxidants are great at battling the causes and effects of oxidative injury, and so it makes perfect sense that they should be useful in the treatment and prevention of many different injuries in the brain.

In fact sufferers of traumatic brain injury and strokes (amongst other conditions) can often be helped to some extent by an increase of antioxidants in their diets. This is not to say that a gulp of Acai puree twice per day is going to cure or indefinitely postpone the onset of these serious conditions, but it will all go some way to helping.

Investigations are on-going as to the possibility of using Acai for the treatment of common neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. All the signs look good and clearly point towards the astounding medical potential ofAcai’s antioxidants.

Depression

Acai berry also provides both direct and indirect benefits which combat the chemical and environmental factors behind depression. Directly it encourages cell communication and cell metabolism, both of which enable the brain to function more efficiently and thus reduce the potential for mental dysfunction. Factors which indirectly help to control depression include the increases Acai provides to the body’s energy resources, and the better, more useful, sleep it induces. Both sleep and an increased activity naturally level help those suffering from depression.

What Is There To Lose?

Even if Acai’s antioxidants did not provide impressive benefits to our mental health, the multitude of other areas in which they helped would be worth introducing it into the diet in their own right. Indeed the overall benefits of Acai go further than this: antioxidants are not the only health benefit offered by Acai. Amino acids and omega fatty acids all play a part in our overall health, and are happy companions of the antioxidants as resident ingredients of Acai.

In this post I’m going to take a look at one of the lesser known benefits of the seemingly omnipotent acai berry. Acai actually helps to improve your skin, and there is more than one way in which it helps. Read on.

Anti-Aging and Free Radicals
We know that acai berry has anti-aging benefits: regenerative nutrients and those wonderful antioxidants make sure that this is the case. All this goodness helps to ensure that your cells are operating to the best of their abilities, and that there are no other chemicals or foreign bodies preventing them for doing just this. This links in withacai’s free-radical fighting ability which has already been discussed in detail.

Specific Skin Benefits
Rather than simply rely on general descriptions of the overall benefits of acai on the body to prove this point, we can now move on to some benefits which specifically help the skin. The benefits come from the hugely beneficial effects that antioxidants, anthocyanins and phytosterols have on our bodies; there should probably be no surprise from learning that they help the skin stay healthy as well as the rest of the body.

Reduction of erosion of the skin’s protective coating. An impressive guarding job is done by the phytosterols in acai. Your skin’s protective coating helps prevent the from cells dying so quickly, and helps to keep out any unwanted invaders. All this adds up to the fact that your skin is going to look younger and healthier for longer.

Defends against the accumulation of premature wrinkles. The anthocyanins and phytosterols in acai act as an astringent, keeping the skin taut and helping to protect the connective tissues in your skin. Tighter, more supple skin means fewer wrinkles.

There are some products on the market now (Elite Eye Creams and Elite Eye Serum being some) that are specifically designed to help get the acai berry goodness closer to the places where it is most likely to help. These products are based on known effects of the chemicals and nutrients in the acai berry, and although scientists are rather reluctant to announce acai berry as being nature’s super food, there is some pretty solid evidence that this is true.

Acai is well known for addressing a whole array of different ailments and problems. One of the lesser known effects is its ability to improve the libido of anyone including it in their diet. This interesting effect has been confirmed by generations of members of the families living around the area in which Acai is harvested. In a report for NBC, Matt Lauer discovered that the local populace calls this unique fruit the “Amazon Rainforest Viagra“.

What is it about the acai berry that makes it work in this way? The quick answer is that scientists are not sure; the locals are not positive either, but they do know that it works. What is sure is that Acai increases energy and stamina, both of which play a part in increase a person’s sexual activity. Combine this with the reduction in weight, improvement in heart health and the volume of ‘good’ fats in the berry and it quickly becomes obvious that there is something here which can help people across the world.

Acai is praised for its many good properties — not least of which are its phenomenal fat-fighting abilities — what a lot of people don’t realise are the collateral benefits to be had as a result of introducing it into a controlled diet. And if it really does increase libido? Well that’s just more evidence that the Acai berry gives more bang per buck than any other food on the planet. And if it doesn’t? Well what have you lost?

Diabetes is increasingly becoming a problem in many affluent societies; approximately 18% (8.6 million) of Americans age 60 and older have diabetes. High levels of obesity combined with poor diet and a distinct lack of exercise mean that more and more people are suffering from this long-term (and largely incurable) disease. And it is not just Western societies that are falling under the sway of diabetes: as a middle class emerges in many large developing nations, so it brings with it changes in lifestyle and — particularly — diet. These changes introduce health problems of their own.

Diabetes is thankfully controllable, but it still represents a lot more than a mere inconvenience to those who have been diagnosed.

Preventing diabetes is still something we can all aspire to; we can all make a few minor changes to our lifestyles in order to improve our chances of evading its clutches. A good diet and proper exercise can significantly decrease the chance that a person will contract diabetes. Some dieting aids can help even further, and this is where the acai berry comes into its own.

There are a number of direct and indirect ways in which acai berry and acai berry products can help prevent the onset and effects of diabetes. Read on.

Appetite and diet
Acai berry contains a high concentration of fiber and omega fatty acids and a good dose of amino acids, carbohydrates and vitamins. In combination and alone, these nutrients have been shown to suppress the appetite and actively fight the fat that builds up around your body. Being able more accurately to control your appetite and your diet mean you are less vulnerable to overeating and bringing the problems associated diabetes.

Very low glycemic index
A food’s glycemic index (GI) is a way to describe the difference in the carbohydrates contained in that food by ranking them according to their effect on our blood glucose levels. Low GI foods produce only small fluctuations in our blood glucose and insulin levels, and this, according to reports, is the key to long lasting health. Naturally smaller fluctuations in glucose and insulin levels are good for our bodies, and essential for diabetes sufferers.

Anti-oxidants and nutrients
Anti-oxidants are the key to a long life. This point might not be directly aimed at diabetes sufferers — or those particularly susceptible to contracting the disease — but it’s an important factor in all our lives.

Increase in energy levels
The increases in energy levels that the acai berry promotes lead indirectly to a fitter, healthier lifestyle. If you’re fitter and healthier then the risk of diabetes is reduced; if you’ve already got diabetes then the effect of its symptoms are reduced. All around a good deal.

It is important that acai berry is not the silver bullet for diabetes: what it can do is significantly improve your chances of living a life without fear of diabetes. With the disease reaching so many people, it is sensible to make full use of all the help you can find.

Your body’s immune system is essential: without it even the mildest cold or infection could be fatal. Anything you can do to boost the effectiveness of your body’s immune system is A Good Thing; this is where a sensible diet that includesacai berry can help.

Your immune system uses a combination of tools such as enzymes, good bacteria, proteins, cells, organs and tissues to protect against diseases, viruses, bad bacteria, tumors and parasites. If we are able to strengthen just one of these tools in our body’s biological ‘toolbox’ then that that tool will become more efficient at its job: greater efficiency means more effective protection. The million dollar question is how one goes about strengthening these tools.

Well actually, there is good news: scientists have been studying the immune system in humans and other organisms for nearly two and a half centuries. Now we are able accurately to identify those naturally occurring substances which can assist each of the tools in our toolbox. The way to help may be as simple as getting enough sleep or drinking the right amount of water every day. This article discusses 10 ways in which to boost your immune system, and none of them take much effort.

Other more difficult — but equally worthy — goals may be, for example, getting more antioxidants into the system; this is not ‘difficult’ in the sense of being hard to do, but difficult in the sense that your average person doesn’t know what an antioxidant looks like, nor where it could come from. The same goes for vitamins A and C, and other ‘invisible’ nutrients which help the body and its immune system in some vital way.

As noted in an article about the antioxidants in acai berry fighting cancer cells, antioxidants and anthocyanins (which are in fact a special type of antioxidant. Read more in this New Hope article) can be very useful things to have floating around your body. Antioxidants in your blood help to cancel out the effects of ‘free radicals’ (molecules arising from various wastes and pollutants that can damage your cells). A paper by Silvina B. Lotito and Balz Frei tells us that

Increased fruit and vegetable consumption is associated with a decreased incidence of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other chronic diseases. The beneficial health effects of fruits and vegetables have been attributed, in part, to antioxidant flavonoids present in these foods.

Vegetables and fruit contain antioxidants; the acai berry contains a lot more than most.

Your skin is in itself an organ, and is a vital barrier against intrusion from the outside world. Keeping your skin healthy is one of the jobs of Vitamin A. Plenty of Vitamin A is a recipe for good, clear skin (in fact it is one of the best forms of attack against acne).

Vitamin C is equally vital to our health. Lack of vitamin C can result in scurvy and was of great concern to the sailors and pirates of yesteryear who spent a long time without fruit and vegetables. It was for this reason that British sailors transported — and ate — large volumes of limes; this particular predilection for citrus fruit was the genesis of the nickname ‘Limey’.

People who enjoy a sensible diet will generally find that they have most of the nutrients they need for a moderately effective immune system, but why stop there? Fruits, vegetables andsuperfoods like the acai berry can give your body a much needed boost in these, and many other, areas.

Whilst scientists are keen to investigate and prove the benefits of so-called “super foods”, we — the consumer — are keen to reap the rewards of these investigations. With the acai berry’s popularity soaring, scientists have been working overtime to see just what it is that this unique fruit can do for as. As the multitude of proven, tangible benefits offered by the humble acai berry mount almost daily, so the popularity of the berry grows even quicker in response.

It was with great excitement that I read a University of Florida study on the effects of the acai berry upon leukemia cells. The lab tests executed by the boffins in the Florida labs showed that extracts from acai berries triggered a self-destruct response in up to 86% of leukemia cells tested. The tests were, it seems, in direct response to some of the claims made by manufacturers, distributors and retailers of acai-based products. Stephen Talcott is quoted in the article as saying:

Acai berries are already considered one of the richest fruit sources of antioxidants. … This study was an important step toward learning what people may gain from using beverages, dietary supplements or other products made with the berries.

Acai berries are not alone in having the properties necessary to attack leukemia in controlled lab tests. Grapes, guavas, mangoes and many other fruits contained the antioxidants which were identified as being responsible for the startling results. Berries — and acai berries in particular — are renowned for having a very high ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity — the measure used to determine the antioxidant capacity of different foods) rating, and may be particularly effective at combating the cells.

The type of antioxidant that produces this behavior is the anthocyanin. Anthocyanins are particularly effective against molecules called ‘free radicals’ which are harmful to some of our body’s cells. Free radicals are produced either as by products of the body’s functions or introduced into our system by pollutants such as cigarette smoke and gas fumes. At the very extreme free radicals can actually change the DNA of a cell and thus introduce a cancer into the body.

Talcott went on to explain that although the test results were very encouraging and showed good activity against the cancer cells, it did not necessarily mean that acai berries could prevent or cure leukemia in people. When active leukemia in people was considered, there are too many variable factors that come into play which may influence the antioxidants’ chemical activity. This is, of course, not to say that it doesn’t help against leukemia cells in humans, just that scientists are unable to prove anything as yet.

This is undoubtedly a very exciting discovery, but why has it taken until now for scientists to uncover the potential benefits of acai berries? Stephen Talcott again:

One reason so little is known about acai berries is that they’re perishable and are traditionally used immediately after picking. Products made with processed acai berries have only been available for about five years, so researchers in many parts of the world have had little or no opportunity to study them.

It is generally recognized that an increased consumption of fruit and vegetables of most types can be closely associated with a decreased risk of contraction of a number of afflictions including heart disease and cancer. Finding that the acai berry is super-charged with the necessary antioxidants is a very exciting step toward to making the world a healthier place.

I like to think that I’ve got a fairly healthy lifestyle, but I’m always looking for ways to make it more healthy. I find new ways to exercise, I learn more about my food, and I like to take care of myself. After all we’ve only got one shot at this life, and one body to live it in; best take care of it while we can! Ever since I started to watch my diet to help with weight loss, I have been a little bit, well obsessed with my health!

It was on this search for new and exotic ways to make myself healthier that I came across some Acai supplements. I’d heard of Acai, of course, but I’d written it down to some dieting fad in which I was determined not to take part. I took a look at a bottle of Acai juice my friend had purchased. I looked at the ingredients, and then the nutritional information. Wow! If this was true then it was exactly what I had been looking for!

I did some research on Acai and it does seem to be as useful as it claims. Needless to say I’m now a regular purchaser of bottles of delicious Acai juice.

Putting it more clearly, the colon is the tube where the solid wastes of the body are stored. The best thing about the Acai Berry fruit is that it quickly affects the midriff part of the human body. It is because of this affect the consumption of Acai Berry fruit leads to the reduction of body weight especially along the tummy area.
Summing-up the Acai Berry fruit contains the essential vitamins and minerals which are equivalent to 19 other nutritious foods. It is not only healthy but it also boosts the metabolism of the body by reducing the overall body weight.

If you’ve read anything at all about Acai, you’ve seen references to Oprah proclaiming the virtues of the Acai Berry. But it is actually pretty difficult to find any quotes or video of what she says. That’s because the scammers have been making all kinds of outrageous claims about Acai being some kind of miracle diet pill, and using Oprah’s name to try and lend credibility to these claims. So, Oprah’s lawyers have been VERY busing getting videos pulled from youtube. Above is a little bit of Oprah with Dr Perricone introducing the Acai Berry juice to her audience. Pretty skimpy stuff.

But there is a lot of buzz about Oprah shedding some light on the Acai scene on her “best life week” special runs Jan 5. The quote below is from her website talking about her struggles, and a little about the special. For the full hour by hour schedule of events for this week visit www.oprah.com

Oprah Winfrey opens up about her recent 40-pound weight gain and reveals intimate details about her struggle to stay in shape after being diagnosed with a thyroid problem in the January issue of O, The Oprah Magazine and in a special episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show airing Monday, January 5, 2009. Both kick off Oprah’s Best Life Week—a multiplatform, company-wide event designed to help readers, viewers, listeners and online users confront the issues in their own lives and make a commitment to wake up and unlock their own personal happiness in 2009.

First found in the Amazon Rainforests of Brazil, a certain variety of palm tree provided the mega-energy packed acai berry for harvest. This rich purple-hued fruit provides an abundance of antioxidants, as well as essential fatty acids and amino acids. In terms of quality, the best acai berry products are 100% organic with Kosher certification. Açaí juice in puree and free dried states is easily imported by the U.S. for packaging in USDA organic and FDA certified quality facilities. Various acai berry nutraceutical products are currently available, including Acai Puree Pulp, Acai capsules, and Acai powder (in dried concentrated powder form). The Acai capsules often contain Amazon camu camu fruit to ensure proper beneficial antioxidant absorption.
The many health benefits of Amazon acai berries, the modern-day “super food”, include increased energy and stamina from its lipids and carbohydrate content; improved digestion from its concentrated fiber levels; increased mental focus from its antioxidant and mineral components; sound and relaxing sleep from its vitamin levels; and weight loss by means of its digestion-aiding fiber with its internal bodily cleansing and detoxifying properties.
Without doubt, the beneficial and health-promoting components of the acai berry and its related health drinks and super food products are amazing in number and importance. Astoundingly, more protein than is found in one egg is contained in a single normal serving of acai fruit. The fact that the Amazon acai is an all-inclusive vitamin product is another. Not only rich in vitamins B1 (Thiamin), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacin), E (Tocopheral), and Vitamin C, the acai berry also contains the necessary minerals of iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium. Açaà juice contains twice the amount of antioxidants found in blueberries due to its contents of more than 30 times the levels of anthocyanins (potent antioxidants) found in red wine grapes. Such antioxidants are necessary for promoting and maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system which supports good blood circulation. Products of the acai berry are a great help in promoting normal muscle health and functioning since they are rich in amino acids and valuable trace minerals.
Noted for improving eyesight and nervous system functioning, battling infections and inflammation, impeding the aging process, slowing the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease, and destroying cancer cells, the acai berry and its products have provided further instances of immense health-improving capacities and acai juice benefits.
