One of the latest crazes in the world of health loss and weight loss has been acai berry. This berry, found only in the rainforests of Brazil, has been promoted by a number of major celebrities and famous doctors. On top of that, there are frequent commercials and Internet ads that will try to sell you on the benefits of acai berry.

If you listen to all the marketing hype, it seems like acai is some kind of miracle food, but that isn’t entirely the truth. While there is a lot of myths surrounding the acai berry diet, it is a highly nutritious type of food. It’s been labeled by many doctors as a “super food” because it has a very high density of nutrients per berry.

Unfortunately, not every product that you see on the store shelves that features acai berry is likely to give you the benefits they claim. Part of the problem is that acai berry loses a lot of its nutrient value when it is processed or free dried in order to be shipped out of its native habitat.

That means that some of the acai berry products that you find on store shelves here don’t actually have much more health benefits than normal everyday fruits you might find in the States. In order to really get the most from acai, you need to find products with acai that hasn’t been heavily processed.

If you can find such a product, then there are some benefits to be had from an acai berry diet. While it won’t do some of the things that marketers may claim, such as improve sexual performance, it can help reduce the effects of aging, improve cardiovascular and digestive health, promote muscle growth, and provide other general health benefits.
